Named after Chef Francisco’s mother, Ophelia will specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with a refined, elevated approach.

“Given my strong connection to Mexican cuisine, we saw an opportunity to take advantage of my knowledge and passion and do something truly unique here in Olympic Village,” Higareda explains. “My mother inspired my love of cooking and it will be a true honour to return to my roots and pay homage to her and my country at Ophelia this spring.”

Ophelia will also offer a fully licenced bar serving handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals, along with local and imported craft beers, and New- and Old-World wines.

We love this place— it’s beautiful, the servers are friendly, and the food is great when cooked well. the guacamole, salsas and tostadas were divine. My husband had the ling cod tacos and I had the ling cod (which I’ve had before) and this time the fish was overcooked. We didn’t want to make a fuss because we were there with friends for their birthday. Otherwise, we still love this place and we will be back.

Fantastic place with absolutely amazing service great ambience, inventive and delicious food and fabulous cocktails! Everything is carefully crafted and tasty. I couldn’t be happier of having this place in town. The waiter was very careful to accommodate our food preferences service was prompt and great atmosphere.

We had a really disappointing experience. There was no classic margarita on the cocktail list, but the waitress assured us that the bar could make them. But what we got didn’t taste at all like a classic margarita. The bar tried again, but they still tasted weird. The stacked chicken enchiladas were barely above room temp, although the edges of the plate were hot. The chicken was dry and stringy. I sent them back and ended up ordering just a salad, which was a pile of arugula with a few tiny pieces of avocado, cheese, radish and tomato. Tiny! For $19. The people were very nice, but sorry, we would never recommend this place.

Ophelia was recommended by a friend and went went there for a Birthday brunch. The food was amazing and the service was great.

The Tuna tostada and the bone marrow tacos were amazing! We had the passion fruit and hibiscus margaritas and they were super good too. A bit expensive, but considering our experience, I'd likely go back

Extensive menu with many options to choose from. Ordered three courses and highly recommend the Molcajete and Pulpo En Mole Blanco. To top of the dinner we ordered the Chocoflan which was delicious.

We most always book a reservation at this restaurant before going to a concert at Roger’s or BC Place. We walk to the concert from this restaurant to avoid the congestion when the concert is over. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch - nothing negative to say about the dining experience. We’ve been a few times now and enjoyed it every single time.
