Ophelia offers a crafted a two-part menu featuring reinventions of classic cocktails and signature cocktails inspired by the natural elements and the glory of the lounge during its heyday in the 1920s and 30s.
Chef Putnam sources ingredients from local and international artisans, farmers and fishmongers to create an elevated and refined culinary voyage. Small dishes include Maine Lobster Spring Rolls; Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras with dried cherries; Classic Caviar Service, Prime Beef Tenderloin, and Truffle Fries.
Great view, great food and interesting and innovative cocktails.
Highly recommended albeit at a high price point.
Very annoying manager (the really tall black guy). He would say we didn't reserve the space even though we did and refused to clear out the area when other people started to randomly sit on our designated space.
I liked the ambiance at the bar inside. Cocktails were good, staff were helpful and professional. However, the sitting in the greenhouse terrace was not comfortable, it was too tight and I think the view is overrated.
On a final note, it took me 5 minutes to understand how the faucet in the bathroom works! :-)
Had a great time. Excellent service and great vibes. Coming back with more friends
Would recommend for the view but the service was terrible and the food overpriced and lack lustre.
Great cocktails! This was an amazing bar with great views
Great service from the staff
Great drinks. Mediocre ambiance. Horrible service. Had to ask our waitress three times to turn the AC on. She seemed annoyed. Not sure why our request to turn on the AC in June in an enclosed lounge where people consume alcohol was such an unreasonable request that she has to ask her manager for permission. It was my second time there and the service is consistently unpleasant.
Great upscale place to get a delicious cocktail and enjoy some beautiful views of the East River! Definitely make reservations ahead of time especially if it’s a date. I had La Española cocktail and thought it was great. I was here on a Monday night so it was a pretty chill vibe.
The only reason to go to Ophelia is for the view and a good drink. The renovation eliminated a period decor that was once wonderful and replaced it with a generic modern decor and uncomfortable seating -- four of us crowding around a minuscule table, 2 of us sitting on uncomfortable backless stools. The bar food was very good.
Very good service and attentive staff. Everything ordered was delivered promptly. Had a large group beside us which did not interfere with our evening. A really lovely place to go to see a different view of New York. Have visited New York several times and would return.
I wanted a view of the East River but that place was already taken. The drinks were very expensive ($28 for a martini, are you kidding? Apparently not...
all perfect. but if you have wines on the menu. and on a rooftop of nyc, the wine can not be served in small glasses and at room temperature. a little detail. The rest impeccable.
It does have a nice view. However, when I made a reservation I did not realize that would only get me a tree stump to sit on cramped on top of each other. One time is enough. I don't need to return.
Recommended the concierge at Lexington Hotel add this to their suggested places to go for nice cocktail, tapas, and great waterfront views. They thanked me and said they’d hear wonderful things about it!
I ordered 2 of the French onion sliders...YUM!!!!😋👍🏽
Terrible bad service
A great place, great service, and nice view. I would prefer if the bar would be bigger
The view and vibe of this lounge is great. My partner and I really enjoyed the drink selection and appetizers available. The cocktails were tasty and the truffle potato wedges and chicken blt sliders were cooked to perfection and were some of the best lounge food we have had in quite some time. I would recommend trying this place out when in NYC.
great view, but slow service. Maybe it was just an off night.
Services was pretty non existent here. The food was good. The drinks were alright. The view was chill but in general not a place I'd be in a hurry to return
Lovely spot, quiet and discreet with the BEST view!
Love the view at Ophelia’s. Great for romantic pre- dinner drinks. Or after work
drinks and apps although a bit pricy. Wish they had a happy hour. Such a beautiful venue with great weekend DJ.
Delicious drinks and great Bartenders.
But It’s all about that view!
Unfortunately they were closing and did not serve us when we arrived for our reservation at 11:30 despite offering availability until 1am.
Kicked us out of terrace area as we were in the middle of dinner, told us group had just reserved the area and we HAD to move inside. Terrible, can not recommend.
Great view. Good food. But aweful service. We had 5 different waitresses. Nobody was following up on us!!! Not amiable hostess
Exceptionally talented and creative mixologist/bar manager. Awesome views of the city! Drinks start at around $14.00-17.00. recommend reservations.
Simply amazing. From the moment Vicente guides you up from the lobby, you feel welcomed to a place you didn't even know you were missing. Views are simply incredible.
Poor service, average location slightly cramped
I came here many years ago and it was amazing and authentic now it’s just the same as everywhere else
Overall Drinks were great. Service was a little lackluster and there was food on the floor when we arrived at our table.
Views are wonderful and a fun place to see a nice view of Manhattan. I would recommend going when it is dark out.
Nice place for an after work drink. Nice view on Queens especially at sunset.
Great location and ambience
The view is spectacular. I would not call it a restaurant. They have high priced interesting snack food. The bar area is impressive. The seating area needs apolthering and a good clean up down to the candle holders that are grimy.
Good food and scienic view. Prosecco and beer were too warm. Service not so nice.
I have been to Ophelia several times but was severely disappointed with my last visit on Friday, 12 April. I entertained 4 friends but was told that there was a 2 hour limit for each group, a limitation that is not advertised during reservations or on the website. I have NEVER faced such a situation in Manhattan. When I asked if another group of friends could join me after the first had left, I was treated peremptorily instead of as a valued client who had just paid for food and drinks for 5 people (including myself). So
I decamped in anger to The Baccarat where I was treated with great politeness and warmth. Bottom line, your staff really need to learn how to discern among clients instead of acting mechanically/robotically and repeating 'the rules'. You lost a client on Friday night.
Suite desappointing . Excepté the view which is superb , the service is kind but extremely slow , the food decent but not outstanding , garlic in every single dish . Not up to my expectations
Fantastic views and excellent cocktails and a wonderful waitress.
It's a timeless place. If nothing else, go there for the view.
The service was poor and slow. The staff clothes are dirty.
pricey but the food is delicious, service was fairly good, and on a wednesday night it was very chill- even the roof area.
