We had a date night for my husband’s birthday and was very impressed. The Caprese salad was fantastic...my hubby wanted to take more orders home! Sea scallops and filet were mouthwatering and tender. Staff was attentive and created a friendly atmosphere. We will be back!
Our waitress was very friendly and very outgoing , beautiful restaurant great food nice drink selection.
We went to Opera House for the first time. I absolutely love the ambience of the restaurant. I love the pictures on the wall, the chairs, the way the tables are spaced out so you are not on top of each other, the music and the fact that even though there was music I could still hear my husband and we could actually have a conversation. I had broccoli soup which was excellent along with plan salmon. He had a ribeye steak. We both enjoyed our food immensely. The only negative I have is with the cherry cobbler for dessert. There was no "cobbler" (crunch party). It was basically a cherry pie with ice cream. It was still good but not what I expected. But I would highly recommend and definitely come back again. Our server was awesome too!
Nice place. Seats a little uncomfortable after a while. Good food, not great, so a little pricey. I will give another try.
We will definitely go back.... it was our first time and it was are 33rd anniversary ..... service was amazing! Highly recommended !
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Opera House last night. Our meals were everything from the filet, to grouper, to gnocchi! Everyone was super pleased! Excellent service from our waitress Brandi!
This restaurant was spectacular when we first went a little over one year ago. We went back over the summer and they had changed the menu. The food was not that great. We purchased a Groupon and decided to give it one more try. We went on a Tuesday and unbeknown to us all the steaks were $25
They should have been! The food was mediocre and they did not allow us to use the Groupon. We paid $137.00 for 2 people and left very disappointed. My husband and I decided we will just take the hit on the $60 Groupon because we are not going back.
Great food great service
I took my family here for my wife's birthday and everything was excellent. This is our favorite place for steak.
The food and service was great! The wine prices, however, are expensive.
Comfortable, welcoming and good food. Also perfect for special occasions.
Very nice restaurant, with a historic atmosphere.
Excellent service and steaks. I was underwhelmed with my salmon and cocktail... would go again but order something else like a steak.
Food was amazing! My only issue is that because it's an old building, the windows are really drafty. It's beautiful to over look the street. However, it's hard to enjoy your food when you're shivering.
I shouldn’t have to chew that much on a $40+ steak. Disappointed.
We had a great experience. Our server Amanda was awesome. We both had steak and it was melt in your mouth good. We had an appetizer, soup, then dinner and all were delicious and fresh.
We will be back.
Great experience! Our server Linda was just fantastic and food was superb as well.
The ambience was very nice.
The food was delicious.
Steaks are cooked to perfection.
Only thing i wish I had more bread.
Took my girl for a romantic anniversary dinner.
Ordered wine appetizers , lamb chops and swordfish for dinner .
The service was fantastic the place was beautiful and romantic, soft music playing.(I had to grab my Sweetheart for a dance before our dinner was served)
Then when we were finished they sent us out a free dessert for our Anniversary.
What a nice thing to do.
Will not forget our lovely experience and plan to Be back soon.
Great service and food was the best as always. Joe you are the best and always so accommodating.
The bus man George was so wonderful. He made us feel very fast and efficient at his job. Our waitress Cindi was very attentive and sweet. I loved our entrees.
had some friend in from out of town so we went out along with some other family members, everything was great
Just okay. The food wasn’t bad, however it wasn’t worth the price. The ambiance looked like it was decorated with items from hobby lobby. Not terrible, not great. The staff is very friendly.
Unfortunately my experience was not the best. Special requests were not taking under consideration. Food was very good. The highlight of the night was our server. She was extremely polite, professional and went the extra mile to provide a service of excellence.
We went for our 5th wedding anniversary and To be honest, we were not impressed. The decor in there is fabulous and the lighting is perfect. We arrived and had a drink at the bar which was nice. I was disappointed the live pianist wasn’t there, however, I heard he was rushed to the hospital and completely understand and hope he is ok. My husband wanted to order the lobster bisque which was off the menu and we were told they change their menu weekly. I suggest adding that to your website and keeping the menu up to date there. We started with the asparagus soup which was delicious but received the bread when we were almost done with the soup. He then ordered a main dish which we were told they were out of. He finally picked a steak which he said was very tasty and perfectly cooked, however, his baked potato was rock hard in the middle. I had the baked Mahi Mahi which was not outstanding but not bad. The vegetables however were not edible. They seemed that they were frozen and steamed up to warm. They did not taste fresh at all. The vinaigrette sauce under the vegetables was cemented onto the plate in some areas leaving me to believe it was sitting under a warmer for awhile and baked on. I told our waitress about the vegetables and she was very apologetic and offered a free dessert or glass of wine but I was disappointed with my meal already I didn’t want more food. I told the gentleman at the front about my experience and he apolgized. I just feel when you spend 30 and I believe 50 for my husbands plate the food should be really good. I would have preferred a discount on my bill considering half my food I didn’t eat. We spent about $130 all together with drinks at the bar and for that price on dining I just feel it was not worth the money at all.
My husband and I dined here for the first time and was pleased. The seating was comfortable, the drinks were made just right. Our appetizer (Calamari) was fabulous and It’s mixed with a little giardenara. My husband had the ribeye and was very flavorful and was cooked just how he wanted it. I enjoyed the 10oz filet with a blue cheese crust. The sides are shareable in size. Our waitress was very attentive. Thanks for a great meal.
We had our wedding anniversary dinner here, and we are so glad we did. Kyle, our server was very attentive. The Key Lime Martini was so good.
The Ribeye Cap was absolutely delicious. It was the most tender steak I've ever had. They were nice enough to gift us an Anniversary dessert plate. We will definitely be back.
The food was amazing. However, the service was lacking. This was our second time here and had experienced below average service at both visits. Which was surprising seeing that there were only 4 tables seated with 3 servers in the entire restaurant.
First time dining at the Opera House and I was not disappointed. They were very accommodating. The food was excellent huge wine selection ( although I didn't love the wine I picked) our server she was going to give us a different wine but I made a poor choice and was gonna live with it.. I will definitely return the ambiance was amazing great staff. Go and enjoy
Our server brought us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. She then packaged a second dessert to-go after finding out we were interested in the lava cake. She was very considerate and genuinely cared about making sure we had a good experience.
As an avid cook and chef for parties, the food was the best quality and preparation was superb. Awesome dining experience from our waitress to presentation of food to quality and taste. We know the good food quality from numerous dining experiences in top end restaurants and Opera House is clearly at the top of list. As a Plainfield native, it is even more exciting to experience top quality in my hometown!
First time there.. Food ambiance. service Linda are waitress was phenomenal! Melanie at bar. All wonderful. only thing was wish they had candles on table
If not real candles ,most places use batteries flickering candles. Just a warm glow would've been Perfect. We celebrated my husbands Bday! We'll definitely be back. Thanks again for making our evening Wonderful!😄
Atmosphere was beautiful. Food was good, but a little overpriced. Menus could have been presented in a nicer manner. The server was not overly friendly in her presentation but she was very sweet. She did kind of forgot about us after a while tending to other tables. We had asked for more bread and didn’t get in until after our plates were gone and our meals were finished. At that point, a complimentary dessert for the table should have been given. We would definitely come back again though. This restaurant has so much potential! Great location as well :)
Was referred here by a friend. Went out with family for a birthday dinner, and everyone had a good time. Would definitely go again.
Great service. Great food! A gem for sure in this cute little town. Thank you!
The Food was fabulous, the place is beautiful.....and the service was outstanding. Will definitely return.
Ultimate dining experience and fantastic food! Well worth it!
Worth the drive to get there. Service was excellent. Rachel knew the menu and could recite it. She gave pertinent suggestions. Prime meat was good but more fatty then last time. Vegetable sides were very good and large enough to share. Conversation friendly. Quiet old style ambience. Suitable for special occasions or for those who want prime steak.
Food was outstanding, service was excellent! Want to thank joe for such a great experience....we will be back soon
Atmosphere was great, service as well. Food was just ok. My wife and I each had steaks. Her filet was incredibly under cooked (she elected not to send it back). My ribeye was unevenly cooked and under seasoned. Everything else we had was just ok.
For the money, I expected to have a great meal. I was underwhelmed.
