Consistently good food. Always great service and plenty of options
Service and food were excellent
You can never go wrong by visiting opals. It is always dependable.
Looking for someplace new away from the hassle of downtown Chs. ,parking traffic etc. Found Opal on line and gave it a try. Other than traffic problems between N. chs. and Mt. Pleasant, so what's new, a 5 star experience. Food and service excellent ! I recommend the duck breast, done to perfection.
Wonderful, as usual. Lovely restaurant, great service, food, and wine. What more could we want? By the way - don't hesitate to order the mussels with the sausage. Sounds weird, but tastes delicious.
Excellent and delicious!
Good choices on regular menu. Fresh ingredients & flavorful combinations!
Comfortable restaurant, our server, Christy was excellent as were other waitstaff. All the food was exceptional, well prepared and presented. Very enjoyable evening and we will definitely return next year!
Amazing evening with great food and service. Creative pasta dishes, charcuterie board, salmon crudo, and steak were all fantastic.
Fantastic Experience as always! This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always fantastic - They never disappoint,
This was our first visit to Opal and we were so impressed! Food, wine, service was impeccable. We will definitely return.
Great as usual. We took a friend visiting from Europe and he was quite impressed with this "neighborhood" restaurant.
Had a splendid dinner at Opal on a recent Saturday evening. We were seated quickly and our server was good. A bit rushy..."I see you have drinks, here are our specials"...I like a minute to settle in. Nice selection of specials. Our group enjoyed the romaine and arugla salad very much and the special appetizer "a deconstructed bruschetta" was amazing. Dinner was mushroom pasta (a bit greasy but tasty) and wonderful fish and gnocci. I like how they incorporated local foods and keep things seasonal. All told a very good meal. Nice wine list as well. Definitely will return.
This is a great place. Would be 5/5 stars except the bartenders ALWAYS have a horrible attitude and are slow and like to make you wait. Very snooty and slow down when they know you are waiting instead of speeding up. Last Friday the bar was packed but the one bartender was hugging and joking around with the wait staff.
Every dish was perfectly cooked and served. Imaginative menu; very good service. I really liked it and will be back often.
What an unexpected gem! Food was fantastic, and our server, Kristie, was knowledgeable and positively lovely.
Opal is one of our favorite local restaurants and we are regular customers. Opal never disappoints us. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and very professional.
We pulled out all the stops and had charcuterie, oysters, apps and entrees all of which were excellent. Our server Christy was a total pro and recommended two great desserts (pot de creme and a great chocolate hazelnut cake) for the table of five. Accessible wine list. Highly recommended; will definitely go back!
Opal is one of the best restaurants in the Charleston area, let alone Mount Pleasant. The service, food, ambience, and selections are great. The steaks are perfectly cooked. The Charcuterie boards are amazing - go on a Tuesday night for 1/2 price Charcuterie's ! Great wine selection. We find it to be reasonably priced compared to anything downtown where you'd get a lesser-quality meal. Their sister restaurant Langdons is also very good. Highly recommended!
We brought friends from out of town and the whole experience was fantastic. Two folks had duck which was excellent. One had the salmon dish which was also excellent. One had the pasta/mussels special which was a big hit. Two had the handmade pastas which was delicious. The soup of the day was a shellfish bisque with shrimp that was elegant and incredibly tasty. We love Opal and enjoy the Tuesday charcuterie nights so much. I recommend this lovely restaurant and recommend reservations on the weekends for sure.
Great Food and service. Third time eating at Opal for dinner. Highly recommend for dinner or special occasion.
As usual, our visit to Opal was an excellent experience and they seemed to be busier than usual (a good sign for our neighborhood). Their appetizer shrimp bruschetta is fantastic. A half-serving of meatballs and pasta was plenty in size and delightful in taste/seasoning. The service was great and the wine list is diverse (and generally affordable). It was a great evening.
Always amazing !
Good food as always....... a little saltier than normal though
This was only the second time I have been. It was Valentines and I arrived from a late flight and had a rather late reservation. No wait and really nice staff. Food was excellent. I had the lobster pasta and my wife the chop. Both meals were outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant and bar to all.
Good for special occasions.
would definitely reccommend
Excellent food and service as always! Wonderfully creative choices and great for Keto lifestyle
An absolutely lovely Valentines dinner. The food was superb. The service excellent. Love, love love
Our favorite place for special occasions AND any occasion. Food, service and ambiance never disappoint! !
We had a very enjoyable dinner. This was a second try after having a not so enjoyable dinner so many years ago and we will certainly continue to patronize said because we were pleasantly surprised about the food service and the ambience
The service was great. We had an early meal and were tucked away in a booth. It is so great to find a restaurant where you can actually have a conversation enjoy great food with fantastic service.
Our first time at Opal was overall a good experience. The only negative was when we arrived early and decided to have a drink at the bar, we stood and were ignored for a solid ten minutes. Even after we placed our order (only two glasses of wine), the hostess came to get us and she hadn’t even poured our wine. We told the hostess and I said not to worry that we would just order with our server. The hostess amended the situation by grabbing our wine from the bartender and bringing it over. After that, it was an excellent experience. Our waitress was very attentive and timed out our meal perfectly. The Westbrook mussels and charcuterie board were so delicious. We ordered the market fish (Tile fish) and the pasta with lemon ricotta (she recommended as it was the most popular). It was good portion sizes (I even ordered the half size and it was plenty!). We topped off the meal with their Expresso martini - one of the best I’ve ever had! Will definitely be frequenting Opal more often when we want to splurge!
The place was packed and we still managed to get a romantic table for 2! Our server, Noel was awesome and the food was perfect.
This is really an awesome spot - more appropriate for friends and fun than romance - but it definitely fit the bill!
Opal is an all round excellent restaurant. Look forward to the next time and there will be a next time.
A nice restaurant albeit quite costly in price. The service was excellent. Thank you Kristie(sp) for terrific service. A good place to try at least once.
As always the food and service is just excellent! The most consistent restaurant in the Tri-County area ‼️
Food was good! Service was a bit slow. We’d definitely go here again because the food was yummy! If service is slow again, we’d think twice about going again. 6:15 reservation and we left at 8:05. We had charcuterie, appetizers/salad, entree and dessert so it was a long meal but it shouldn’t have been THAT long. Server was nice, but just a bit too slow.
Great service and food preparation and flavor was super
Fabulous as always for both food and service. I am addicted to their shellfish bisque which is fabulous. Love that you can order half portions of pasta which is still substantial. Always a great experience!
Food was outstanding
