We were the first ones in the restaurant at 6pm, but by the time we left it was packed! I chose this restaurant because of the great gluten free comments others had made…. But it wasn’t different to me compared to other restaurants. Our server was very patient with this group of 4 that hadn’t seen each other in a while. Our food was great! Two had the vodka rigatoni, one had the Italian chopped, one had salmon. All meals were beautifully presented, hot, and flavorful. We all had dessert and I think we agreed the chocolate gelato was the best, followed by the tiramisu. If there was anything lacking I would say bread for the table. If you want a little nibble while waiting, you have to buy garlic bread. At this price point, I expect bread and butter for the table (not gf but that would have been a bonus!) Overall I would go again!

Horrid service - waiter left us and didn’t Check in once during the meal. Had to flag him down for water and the bill. Steak was undercooked, and I couldn’t even ask for a correction because he didn’t check on us. Terribly disappointed.

We had a reservation for 7:30. After placing our order, our waitress informed us they ran out of the gnocchi plate my husband ordered. The tagliatelle plate didn’t have any prime rib and only a little bit of sausage on it. The flavors were good, but it was a disappointing experience. The calamari appetizers was good. The tiramisu was very good. Service was good as well.

My husband and I dined at OP Italian on Thursday, April 11th. We chose it for convenience. We stayed at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, and the restaurant was inside the hotel. Our dining experience was impressive! Anthony, the Server, is an example of excellence in Customer Service. At our request, he advised us on dishes. A recommendation? Follow his advice! The Crispy Calamari, Caesar Salad, the Vodka Marinara Rigatoni, and the Tiramisu were deliciuos. On our next visit, we look forward to Pizza. It was great fun to watch Randy's expert preparation of Pizza. Max, the Host, was graciously accommodating to our requests. The decor was lovely, and the music was a favorite. It was a perfectly relaxing evening with delicious, well-prepared food and excellent service from Anthony, and the trainee, Deidre. We highly recommend dining at OP Italian.

Food was good, and ambiance was fine. Our server did a very nice job and kept things moving at a comfortable pace. The only real disappointment was that I ordered the "Spicy Shrimp and Spaghetti", which was good, but not at all spicy. Others in our party ordered the salmon and the vodka pasta dish, and they were quite pleased. I do wish that the spicy shrimp had been a bit more spicy, because it was pretty bland.

We had the beef carpaccio - it was bland and needed salt and pepper. The calamari was nothing special and needed salt and pepper. The rigatoni was okay but again the pasta definitely was not made in salted water. The pizza was undercooked in the middle and very gooey. We eat out a lot in our hometown of Cincinnati and expect that a $160 bill be semi enjoyable. The only nice thing for OP Italian was our server otherwise I will never dine here again. Complete lack of sophistication in menu as well as lacking imagination. We love the hotel JW Marriott and expected so much more from the finer dining establishment that it houses.

The food was great and we loved the ambiance. The service was extremely slow. We sat at our table for almost 10 minutes before water was brought to us then waited awhile for our drinks. Food came out at an appropriate time.

While the restaurant was generally very good, the ridiculous requirement of forcing their staff to wear masks totally ruins the experience. We all know we have been duped, some still try to perpetuate the myth and create a second class of citizens while trying to impress upon us how much they care for the safety of all. STOP IT! You are making us mad, not making us "feel safe".. Stop minimizing the people you employ and admit it is more the lawyers and insurance companies you fear. At least be honest

Slow service. 20 minutes to get a cocktail. Food arrived and everything was over cooked. It took so long for it to arrive, we did not send it back. Restaurant opened at 6 and we were first to be seated. Was not overly busy. Bummer

The overall experience was great! The ambiance and service was top notch. Morgan was very attentive and pleasant. Tye food had great flavor, the only dig would be that the salmon piece in my meal was smaller than I would expect for the price but the flavor was on point. My gf had the chicken parmesan which was great both size and flavor. Overall, had an experience that would likely bring me back for another visit.

Service was slow, we had a reservation but 2 tables that came in after us got their meals long before we did. Our waiter was not engaged, we hardly saw him. Finally,the food wasn't worth the price. The best thing about the night was the valet parking.

This has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Indy for Italian. It has recently reopened after covid closure. Perhaps I was seeking the atmosphere of the past and Marriott quality/service. I know they will get back up to speed. Unfortunately the atmosphere was absent. I do not blame the restaurant or hotel because it was filled with sweatshirt clad families visiting here for downtown events but it did take away from the potential high class quiet classy restaurant this was in the past. Good service and good food but nothing outstanding as in the past. It seemed as if half of the restaurant was open and all table filled while the back half was empty?? I realize that getting servers is a problem all over the industry. My suggestion would be white tablecloth on the tables to give a softer sense rather than the coldness of deep stained wood tables/ suggest a dress code/ revisit the menu. It's simple.....who do they want to appeal to as customers. An eatery for the hotel guests that want to come as they desire ( that's the Velocity bar) or one of Indy"s destination fine restaurants.
