At first glance given the address I imagined the restaurant to be part of a mediocre motel. With trepidation I drove to Katoomba to be pleasantly surprised by the little schoolhouse setting with a fireplace and excellent service scrumptious food. Highly recommended and we will be back.

On entering the door we were immediately greeted by a lovely lady, who looked after us the entire time we were there. The inside of the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas in July. All the food was exquisite, especially the confit duck. Chef Saran went above and beyond in catering to my dietary needs, making alternatives for parts of my meals. It was an absolutely wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be going back again. I'd give it a low star rating, just so that we'd be able to get back in there again without it being booked out, but it definitely gets a 5 star rating from us. We definitely look forward to going there again, many times in the future.

The Front of House service by Felicia was wonderful. She was bright and cheerful, helpful and professional. Our meals were delicious (Steak and fries for me, Lamb Shank for hubby), we shared a side of beans. Then dessert and coffee, I was glad we'd skipped an entree. The ambience is warm and welcoming.

Went for lunch and had a lovely time. Waitress was very nice, attentive but not too attentive. Our meals were delicious, We had the Bread with salmon rillette and the scallops, for mains we had the duck and the fish with a side of potatoes, for dessert we had the chocolate cake and the apple tart Tatin. All dishes were very enjoyable. We will happily be going there again.

Our first visit to this new restaurant, and it won't be our last. We are locals and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was second to none, the service warm and friendly. A great night out farewelling our dear family member returning to the UK. We highly recommend!

Tucked in the heart of the Blue Mountains, One Orient delivers a refined yet welcoming dining experience. The warm, elegant setting and attentive staff make it instantly inviting. We started with seared scallops and lamb croquettes. The scallops were perfectly cooked, paired with a silky cauliflower cream and tangy Champagne vinaigrette. The croquettes were crisp outside, tender inside, and balanced by a fresh salad. For mains, we had the Angus beef and confit duck. The beef was juicy and full of flavor, while the duck—served with white bean casserole and l’orange sauce—was rich, tender, and beautifully executed. Desserts included a silky crème caramel with a pleasant bitterness, and a decadent dark chocolate gateaux that was indulgent without being overly sweet. Service was warm and professional, and pricing felt fair for the quality. One Orient is a standout in Katoomba—elegant, relaxed, and full of flavour. We’ll be back to try the Yulefest degustation.
