Tried it for the second time and still unimpressed even with it being a slow weekend due to the summer holiday. Wait staff was bickering in the corner and had 4 different people coming up to us at various time, meat wasn’t cooked correctly, which is unacceptable for a 350 dollar meal. Ambiance and back patio is stunning ... so much potential but the place should be perfect for the price...
Beautiful, ostentatious restaurant that operates like a well oiled machine. Service was very good with personable servers but the food was just average to slightly above. No where near the quality of Kyma or Limani, but priced the same. Bar scene was crowded but it’s spacious.
It’s too bad that I have to give this restaurant a bad review because the first time I went, the food and the service were really good. My second experience was quite different. Made reservation weeks in advance. We arrived on time and were given a table so close to the kitchen I could have cooked the food myself. It was loud, noisy and the clientele looked like something out of an 80’s pick up bar. So amazingly disappointed in what this restaurant has evolved into. Our server also disappeared for a good 25 minutes. Music was unbearably loud for a 7:30 dinner reservation. What can I say except so long.
A fantastic evening turned into a fun night. Had a reservation for 3 at 6:30 on Friday to celebrate my moms birthday. The weather was beautiful that night, so the outside dining was full. The service by Theresa and Rich was excellent and attentive. Started with One North cosmos which are delicious and strong! For apps we went with the west African salt prawns, if you love lobster get them. They are so sweet and delicious. Also had the fritto misto, perfect for calamari lovers. For mains we had the black spaghetti (nice portion! took home half) halibut, and lobster pot. Everything was excellent. The food was spaced out nicely where we could have a nice relaxing dinner. To finish the night we had a birthday dessert platter for the table: donuts, chocolate gold cake and cheesecake. The perfect ending. They have a DJ there Friday nights so we went to the bar after to drink and dance. The music started pumping around 10pm. Everyone had a blast.
This will soon become the most exclusive restaurant on Long Island. The architecture, food, and services will have you smiling throughout your entire dining experience.
A wonderful dining experience! Excellent food and service.
Great food and service. Can't wait to go back. It is a bit pricey. But worth it.
Liked the scene a lot...the service was good, but the food was slow to get to our table. Our server forgot some apps, and apologized but he could have done more to make us more comfortable.
Found this place quite by accident and decided we'd try it. This place used to be the Maine Maid Inn. From the outside it still has that quaint look of yesteryear; inside is another story altogether. The Inside is very modern and sleek. The moment you walk in, you can see there is a vibrant bar scene a la Rothmann's 1990s on a Thursday night if you know what I mean.
We walked around to check everything out- this is a very large space, with different areas that can be divided to hold special events. The money that went into the construction and revisal of this place is evident at every turn.
After waiting about 10 minutes, we were seated in a cavernous space. The acoustics were awful, and hard to make decent conversation without asking "what?" and raising our voices. I suppose the pounding of the disco beat in the background did not help the situation.
We started our meal with a Cesar salad, which was fairly bland; there was no bite of garlic, anchovy or even cheese for that matter, so that was a disappointment.
My bronzino was delicious. It was served simply grilled and filleted, but with the head still in the plate, which was fine. My husband had the swordfish, which in some areas were visibly raw. He didn't complain; he just ate around it. My husband had some gelato for dessert, which he said was good, but how can you go wrong with chocolate gelato? Dinner for two (one drink each) came to $170. So this is not a cheap place. This will be a "one and done" for us. We came, we saw, we ate, and once is enough.
My boyfriend and I came here for our 8th anniversary. The food and service was great! The ambiance was very welcoming with beautiful decor and seating. However, the music was a little too loud for dining at a upscale restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed the night I just wish that the music had been a little lower so that we could actually hold a conversation without screaming.
Had a great experience....I had the vegetable salad with grilled shrimp it was delicious! The service was impeccable! My server was Benny and he couldn't be more polite, professional and friendly...he was my idea of what every restaurant server should be...good music, good crowd....I'll be back!
Unbelievable service. We were blown away! Amazing food .. we are already planning our next night there! Ben and Deanna were our servers and they’re the best we have ever had. I wish there was more than 5 stars to give , absolutely recommend the filet mignon , olive oil mashed potatoes and broccolini. Heading back to try the bone in rib eye
They could use more servers to take orders and/or have people other than servers busing as well.
The place was beautiful. The food was quite expensive but good.
Went there for Mother’s Day and it was wonderful! My mom loved the experience! Our server was amazing and this restaurant is HUGE! It is so beautiful and the food is great (though pretty pricey). Would definitely suggest special occasions only for dinner. Drinks and apps for a casual night out.
Wonder Mother’s Day dinner with my wife and son. Food was outstanding and the service was awesome.
Excellent service by Derrick and Ashley. Food very good, but a bit pricey. Beautiful atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and staff!! Went with a party of eight and food was spot on. Service was amazing!!
Absolutely amazing experience. My number one restaurant in Long Island.
Enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day lunch. Everything was perfect. Food was delicious and staff was wonderful, Greg and Mike. Will be back.
Mother’s Day weekend
This is a new life for an old standard and they have done a beautiful job renovating it. The decor is lovely and no expense seem to be spared. The staff was attentive and everything arrived on time, as described and was quite good.
It's a GIANT place so the noise could be managed a bit better, but I'd definitely return.
Gorgeous modern interior décor with vaulted ceilings, marble walls, huge fresh flower arrangements, and dramatic lighting and vibrant ambiance. Our biggest complaint was the music and noise level. We were a party of 6, seated at a round table. It was so loud in the restaurant, we could barely talk to each other. There was absolutely no way to talk across the table, you could only hear the person next to you. The music sounded like something that should be playing at a dance club. It was like "house techno" and was so loud and annoying, we were really happy to get outside and away from the noise. Very inappropriate for a nice dinner ambiance.
Overall the food was good but a bit pricey for the quality. We ordered the special Wagyu bone-in sirloin for two at $160 (we actually shared it among 3) and were not impressed. The meat was not that flavorful and very tough. The lobster bisque and crab cake appetizers were both delicious (although the crab cake had only one in the serving and was small for the price). The salads were delicious but again a bit small for the price.
Quite a scene for the over 50 crowd. Good place, but the prices are bordering on ridiculous. Food and drinks super overpriced
He most elegant place and eclectic restaurant on Long Island! Food was excellent. Small portions at a high dollar but 5 star. Amazing mixtures of recipes that will make your mouth water. The ambiance is so spectacular. The outside merges into the inside. And people spill into very large bar setting. Excellent wine selection. Happy hour available. Great for dates and and a night out. Loud so no kids for dinner .. but this place you don’t your kids there anyways!
It was wonderful! Loved the music! Great waiter!!! Justin was outstanding! Great nibbles and then there main course was delicious!
We wanted to go to a special restaurant for our anniversary! One North was recommended highly!!! We went on a Tuesday night .... it was quiet (perfect for us) .... very impressive as you entered with high ceilings and interesting lighting ... ambiance beautiful! The service was most attentive .... and food was excellent ... especially the lamb chops my husband ordered. Certainly would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion .... be aware that it is pricey.
Absolutely delicious and Terrance provided us with great service. Quite pricey but totally worth it if you can splurge for the occasion
We have been there many times as we bought a gift card. Unfortunately the service has been very disappointing. There are many people working and many managers walking back and forth. We timed how long it took to get bread - 22 minutes. We go out for dinner mostly every night. Most restaurants - especially high end ones - serve you from the moment you sit down. We got our bread after our appetizer. And it was just three slices of bread. One waiter said when we asked for it that most people don’t want bread these days. Interesting. I also see that most restaurants serve something with the bread. Olives - dip - peppers - cheese. Something to nibble on as guests have a drink or two while ordering. Nobody seems to know exactly what they are supposed to be doing so therefore we sat for awhile before anyone even came to us. Plus one time our fish and side of vegetables arrived cold as we waited fir a very long time for it but we did not say anything. Waiters are hustling and trying very hard but it seems like it is lacking management. Managers walked by and stared at the table but did nothing to remove dirty dishes that were finished or add some sort of elegance to the scene. Very overpriced for what you get. Our salad that we were sharing arrived with two serving pieces. Most restaurants would serve the salad to us. Someone walked by and asked if we wanted it served and we said ok and she said - no problem. I know it’s not a problem - btw - terrible for staff to use that expression. I presume it’s not usually done by the way she was saying no problem and was doing us a favor. I would have just served it myself but I think I thought it was a high end restaurant. Very inexperienced staff. I’m sure with experience it will improve. Many people working and no one really understanding how to help customers sitting and waiting. We live in the area in Muttontown and hope that the management and leadership will improve so that we can come this summer.
Birthday dinner. Staff very helpful with recommendations and serving the Gluten Free cake we brought.
Was seated 40 minutes after our reservation time ( I had to ask 3 times about it). Server brought out oysters without cocktail sauce and took about 10 minutes to get that. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and 2 other cocktails which took at least 10 minutes until they were brought to my table. The place is stunning, the food is good, but for the prices they need to upgrade their service as well as timing of reservations.
Very good food
Bring lots of money!
Ps: tablecloths would be nice at this price point! ( seem to be only on the larger tables in the center) at $300.00 for dinner for two ( with only one glass of wine apiece) I expected table linen.
Would definitely go back!
We sat right away in a cramped seating for 2 and sat for several minutes until we were approached by our server. We eventually had our order taken and had to ask 2 times for butter for our bread. The raw clams on ice platter sat for so long that the table was covered with water and it poured out all over the floor when it was finally picked up. Our food came out and it was raw and had to be sent back. We ordered a glass of wine and had to ask 3 times before it finally arrived. When the raw veal returned, it was charbroiled on the outside and still raw on the inside. We were too fed up to have it fixed. Finally, we wanted to leave and waited over 15 minutes for us to be acknowledged to even get a check. It would have been nice to even have our water glasses filled but there was no one who came over to even ask. We were given a complimentary dessert but no coffee was offered. Hard to complain because they comped our meal afer telling our saga to the manager but it was an awful experience.
Amazing service. Awesome food very accommodating to food preferences. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at One North hope to be back soon.
The food was excellent as was the service. For a party of 2 we say at a comically large table, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Great place for a date night.
The space is beautiful and the outdoor seating are was relaxing and wonderful.
However, the food was terrible , vegetarian options amount to nothing and even the desserts were unpalatable . The wait staff was unfriendly and not at all helpful plus they had us rushed through out the evening and had no helpful suggestions.
It is not an inexpensive place and my suggestion would be to go there for a drink and relax outdoors with friends.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at One North. The staff are extremely attentive and had knowledge of all the food and details on its origins. The beautiful setting feels more like a Manhattan setting and does not disappoint. Highly recommend!
