Unfortunately, the food has gone downhill and the service was not satisfactory.
The Pork Tenderloin that I had was exceptional. The glass of Bordeaux blend that I wanted with the main course was almost as expensive as the main course---overpriced at $28, and so I passed. It suspect that it would have been a perfect combination, and next time I will probably order it.
The service was borderline. The sides that my guest ordered did not arrive with the main course. We had to tell the waiter when he finally came by.
I admire and enjoy the piano playing of Billy Philadelphia. Crucially important for me. He defines the place for me, as does the sommelier. Nothing enchanting or cutting edge about One Market, but it is warm and convivial and I know that my wife and I will return, as we have for many years.
Great place for lunch. We'll be back. Offerings were unusual and tasty. We had an appointment and couldn't linger but we would recommend visiting One Market .
Food was average at best. Given prices, the food should be better, it didn’t match the ambiance or pricing.
Excellent location and menu for a business meal. Wine list is comprehensive and menu features food for all discerning appetites.
NEVER disappoints! I love this restaurant. For starters, the staff are top notch. You can't find better. And the food is always creative, fresh, and scrumptious. One of my favs in SF.
Simply THE BEST! Outstanding food, Superior Service, Friendly staff, Great music & atmosphere. You just can't go wrong at One Market. Highly recommend!
Be prepared for a little sticker shock -unless this is a business lunch or dinner
Very few mid priced wines on the list although our helpful waiter steered us to something in the budget
The woman greeter at the front desk was far from friendly-not hostile but not welcoming -what was that all about?
Restaurant itself is lovely although quite large-good for groups
Food was quite good and service was excellent.
Great business lunch. The food has gotten better and better over the years, too!
Great restaurant for business meetings, conveniently located near Embarcadero Muni and BART stations.
We went as a family with a 5-year old boy to have their Downtown Social dinner. The food was fantastic, and the service very accommodating. Our son loved his burger, and fries, we turned the greens from his burger into a separate salad, which they thought would work out, and brought dressing and an extra plate for us. The food for the adults was wonderful. Flavorful, but delicately hot smoked salmon, and the sauerbraten was rich, unctuous, and very nummy.
Lovely decor. Superb food. Wonderful service. Varied menu.
I have had two meals at One Market now. A farewell business lunch for a valued colleague and an anniversary celebration. In both cases my companions and I felt we were in the perfect place. A gem hiding in plain sight.
One Market continues to deliver a great dining experience. Menu is creative and beautifully presented. Service is attentive with experienced staff that knows the menu and make recommendations.
I highly recommend it for a business lunch and for a great happy hour!
Ignored, bland food, waitress who seemed like she hated life, and an hour to get our food. Run away!
Piano player, Billy Philadelphia was fabulous and Gabe our server was on point. Food I found mediocre.
Service was nice but sparse. Maybe because I was only one person he was inattentive and failed to check on the table about how things were, whether I wanted another drink, etc.
We were so excited to be able to get a last minute reservation for 7 of us on a Thursday night. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to our expectations. The service was sub-par making the overall dinner disappointing. The servers seemed understaffed, overworked and not attentive. We waited a long time... I was with several vegetarians and they were not happy with their choices. The Salmon was good and the side veggies were also very nicely prepared. I hope they can improve and get their mojo back.
The service at One Market is consistently excellent. The servers take their jobs very seriously and treated me as if I was a diplomat or a celebrity. They always offer apps, special of the day, various drinks combinations, and always ask about your desert preferences. They are extremely personable and articulate. Unfortunately, the prices at One Market are inflated to the point that a simple sandwich, non-alcoholic beverage, one apptizer, and a desert costs $50.00. It is more of a chic-elite restaurant than an every day enjoyment. The food is delicious but can be found in any “normal” restaurant. You are definitely paying for the location.
I will return occasionally because it is so convenient and the deserts are amazing! Go for a special event or to impress someone. But be prepared to spend over $200. for 2 people should you order alcohol with your main course.
Always great food. Our waiter made the visit a great experience.
My favorite restaurant in San Francisco. Food was wonderful and the service perfect. Our waiter was so attentive and nice. We had a wonderful evening and a rich dessert. Please eat here if you are in San Francisco.
Overall, it was a decent, but disappointing experience at One Market. The good news was we were made so full by our entrees, we decided not to order dessert, despite that Bradley's Butterscotch Pudding practically calling my name despite not being hungry anymore. Our appetizer was barely present that not all of us even got to try the main highlight of the dish, and one of our sides was so salty it ruined out palates for the rest of our dinner. One Market is succeeding because their delivering the goods in an area that tourists and locals find convenient, I do wish they have more updated dining options on their menu. The menu is not the most affordable, being downtown San Francisco that's not surprising, but I do hope to return in the future with a better outlook and experience that I could share with my fellow diners expecting a high-end San Francisco dining experience.
Had the brisket, wonderful. Tender, moist, but half was fat. Mentioned it to the waiter, and he brought a PIECE of meat with no fat. Friend had cobb salad, delish! Lovely setting, good service. Just disappointed to see such a lovely serving with half the meat fat slabs.
Food was quite nice, but it was very noisy and difficult to converse without having to yell and lean in...
Great service and great food
Half price wine on Friday and saturday
We had three different meals and an appetizer. Everything came out very good and in a timely manner. The waiter was also very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu.
Acorn Squash soup (spicy) and lobster mushroom risotto were amazing. Service was professional, and personal. We love this restaurant!
Both the hostess & waiter were outstanding. The hostess was very kind and patient as we ordered cocktails and settled our tab at the bar. The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine bottles we were considering.
When we first arrived, there was no valet. The valet stand was empty. We waited for about ten minutes and when no one came we then proceeded to the restaurant. They took my keys, said where I left my car was fine and sat us. Later, the manager, I presume, came to our table annoyed and said “just for future reference next time you can’t leave your car there because that’s where the F line comes” and then he walked away, before we could even respond to him. To come tell me in a sassy manner and not give me a solution to where I should have left my car because there valet was not there was very silly and unprofessional for a “fine dining” restaurant. This started our night on a bad/ very frustrating note. Our waiter and the food was good so it turned around. However, I don’t think it’s worth the effort to go back and to be lectured again. There’s plenty of other restaurants in SF grateful to have customers.
We found this wonderful place while on a tour of San Francisco. We are from Boston and it was a wonderful way to enjoy a beautiful night out on our mini vacation. The restaurant was very busy (always a good sign) but noise level moderate and service great. Our waitress Micky was fantastic and helpful with both suggestions for dining as well as visiting in SF. Both our meals were incredible. A perfect end for a wonderful trip.
Overrated and over priced. Perhaps once very good. Now just ok.
Waiter was outstanding; food excellent; too noisy and will not return for that reason. I don’t understand why this restaurant seats parties of 10 or more between tables accommodating twos and fours—-makes no sense except to maximize guest numbers. They’ve done this for years so it must not dent their partronage.
Disappointing. The food wasn't anything special, the oysters were spoiled and the service was subpar. Won't recommend or return.
Always amazing! Consistently delicious and interesting. Service is exemplary.
excellent tombo tuna on a bed or quinoa and marinated cucumbers. Delicious combination.
Very overpriced dinner- $400 for 3 people. Food good not great. Waiter had to be called over several times & was underwhelming, could try smiling. Every other experience was great- not tonight.
The ambience is fantastic here for a wonderful dining experience. You can sit in the lively, noisier bar area or select a calm, quieter dining room booth. Perfect!
Tanya is there to help you pair wines, and she’s was spot on with her knowledge and talent.
I’ve been here a few times, and have noticed some inconsistency in food preparation. It’s all delicious, just seems to turn out differently from time to time.
We’ll be back to One Market for sure!
Great staff, great food. Pleasant environment. Would recommend to friends and family and will most assuredly reserve again.
The best thing about One Market are the little extras, the best being a tiny cup of vichyssoise, one of my favorites! We really appreciated the waiter suggesting that we share a steak, which was almost as good as the creme brûlée. No real complaints, but nothing really exceptional, either. A good place for business dinners, but there are lots more romantic places in San Francisco.
Loved everything from the martini's to the main course. Three of us had scallops & they were excellent, and the roasted corn polenta put it over the top. Loved it. Our waiter was great & recommended a Rhone blend wine that was perfect with our meal. Everything was outstanding.
