Fantastic meal. Great service. We were a little late, and they were nice and pilite, not treating us like we screwed up their service. Food was fabulous. Exceeded expectations!
I had the "Weekly Beastie", which was the reason for visiting the restaurant this time. The food was magnificently prepared and presented. My only criticism is that the portions were miniscule. Admittedly, this was a "tasting menu" but four morsels of sweetbreads is really paring it down to the nub. So, while my meal was outstanding, it didn't quite measure up for value. Tripe and sweetbreads are hardly Kobe beef, so they could have been more generous.
Good food and service, although the service was a bit slow. We could have been more assertive about asking the waiter to bring the check however when we were ready to leave.
Service courteous and anticipatory. Were allowed to linger after finishing meal which was greatly appreciated.
Good food, slow service (waiter not food), very small portions. Ate a full meal with desert and left hungry.
Super meal, nice presentation and great service.
One of the best restaurants in the US. Weekly Beest was great. Really enjoyed the Lamb dishes. Great wine pairings.
Loved the food. Service was not up to the food.
The four course dinner special at $49/person was disappointing. It sounded interesting, but in the end four courses of lamb, head to foot, became boring and tiresome. A good salad or soup, an interesting lamb main course, and a good desert, would have been more enjoyable. Have eaten here several times when visiting San Francisco and have always been pleased. This time was disappointing.
We arrived at 5:25pm on a Friday night for our 5:30pm reservation. The hostess was incredibly rude, and much to my surprise, the same unfriendly, rude hostess we encountered the last time we dined here (summer 2009). I can't believe that she is still employed. She told us we were 15min early, and we said our watches said 5min. 'Well, our clocks must not read the same'. So we had to go sit outside for 5min. I have never experienced such unfriendly service and won't be returning. Rhymes with witch!
We want for our 16th anniversary dinner and had an amazing time! Food was excellent and the service was unbelievable.
Regarding service, we arrived 20 minutes early and they worked hard to sit us immediately. Upon sitting, and after the couple next to us finished their dinner, the Manager came over and offered to push the two tables together to allow us to sit alongside each other. In addition, throughout the evening the entire staff recognized our anniversary and various ways - from special samples provided by the chef, to our server's overall service and even a special note spelled in chocolate integrated into our dessert!
Our steak, filet, salads and sides were fresh and prepared to perfection. I would write more but out of spac
The food was delicious, but the service was not what I expected for a restaurant with one Michelin Star. I dined by myself and I was out on business. I felt I was ignored while I watched my waitor cater to other customers at a big tables in large groups. I had to ask for a refill on water twice, had to ask for bread, had an empty wine glass for 20 minutes, and when I got up to use the rest room my napkin was never folded. I am very disappointed.
Top level food and service. I'm anxious to return.
We enjoyed the tasting menu and will definitively come back.
Visiting from Montreal, we chose this restaurant because it was recommended by The "Michelin guide".
We loved the modern and refined decor as soon as we walked in.
We chose a wine pairing menu.
The food was tasty and unic, the presentation creative. I loved the tomato consome and the chocolate tofee cake. My boyfriend specially appreciated the duck. Every plate was memorable. The pricing is reasonable for the quality.
Do not hesitate to bring a date, they will surely be impressed. Great atmosphere for a business diner.
Thanks, One Market, for the memory of our last diner, vacation of 2010
I thought the food was good but way over priced for the portion size and the quality. The service was really good as was the ambiance. Would only come back for a very special occasion.
good spot for a business lunch
Great food and a beautiful place to eat it! 7/8 out of 10
The restaurant was not crowded. We arrived 10 mins late for our reserved time (11:30am). A table of 5 men were seated 10 minutes after us in our section. No drink order, no food order until after noon. We were stranded by our waitstaff. In the end, we had to leave to go back to work with no dessert at 12:45p. I don't recommend it for lunch.
We had the most AMAZING BLT salad with heirloom tomatoes as part of the prix fix menu. Highly recommended!
The food and service were both exceptional.
While the food was reasonably tasty, and the crab salad appetizer was outstanding, overall the food was not nearly as good as I anticipated.
This was our second trip, and again our expectations were exceeded. We all had the Weekly Beast pork dinners, which were delicious and very well priced. The wine pairings were just the right amount to complement the food without getting you loaded, which all of us appreciated. We plan to return!
The food was great! The service was very good!
We have always had a wonderful experience at One Market. The food is very well prepared, the service top notch, and a perfect place with that special someone.
Fabulous food and service. The Black Cod was amazing!
I have been here several times before and have always had a nice experience. The food was very good, the restaurant decor is very pleasant and we had a terrific waiter. The only negative was the dark haired hostess. She was a bit hard-edged and did not set a good tone for me when I entered the restaurant. The blonde hostess, however, was very nice.
A Bad Nights Dinner
Last friday night my wife and I went to One Market for our 43rd wedding anniversary dinner. We got our table right away. The sevice was late and the food was bad. My wife had fish that was warm and was like mush and I had lamb shanks that were over done and dry. We ordered dessert and it was only fair at best. Then the waiter brought us a second dessert that had a Happy 4th anniversary on the plate, we told the waiter that it was our 43rd. He said that was what I was told and its on me. The other thing that was disturbing to us a lady across from us had a dog on her lap and when my wife said something to hostess she said it must be a service dog. This lady let the dog lick her plate on the table. A sad night.
Never disappointing. Our Chicago friends were most pleased with the experienced.
Best lunch in San Francisco with Inventive, consistently delicious food at reasonable prices.
Consistently, One Market has outstanding food and service! It's one of my favorite places in San Francisco.
Amazing, food and better service. what more do you need?
Filled the bill -- good food and great service.
Didn't care for the hostess who didn't seem that interested in helping our reservation (around lunch time, 8/9). We twice received a hand to wait where we were until we could be helped or seated. Not the way to start a nice dining experience for two of the people whom I brought for the first time.
the foods are excellent , the portion is right , the service is excellent , the wine list is abundant with good selections and reasonable price
Always enjoy this restaurant. Food is consistently superior and the service is always attentive.
The food is absolutely delicious. All fish that was ordered was cooked perfectly. Loved the chickpea sticks. Our seat overlooked the embarcadero, our waiter was very available but not in your face and the best part is the dinner plates were not removed till all had finished eating.
Rabbit (weekly beast special) was dry and uninspired
This was our first time at One Market. I had the duck breast and my wife had the seared scallops. Both were very good. Menu had quality selections but was not as varied as we would have preferred.
Do love the Ceasar Salad!
