We came on a day when they offered 1/2 off the entire menu, but we still received great service and care!
The quality of the items on the menu is well beyond "comfort food"; it is gourmet.
We are never disappointed with the service, choices on menu, and never felt rushed
to "turn the table". It is one of my top three choices for San Francisco.
Great food, great service. I’ll be back.
Every visit is a delight! Great food, great service, great price. Recommend with no hesitation!
Had dinner as part of Restaurant Week and it was a wonderful experience. Choices were great, service excellent and worth another visit.
Ruben was an amazing server. Very knowledgeable about the menu and told us all about the restaurant. It was the best crab cake I’ve ever had- no fillers, the way a crab cake should taste. I also really enjoyed the Trout. Thanks for a great first experience, Ruben and chef!
This is a traditional restaurant with excellent service and a slightly more formal atmosphere than most places we go in the city. We ordered from the SF Restaurant week fixed menus along with wine pairings and were very pleased with our meals. Although we went for my husband's birthday, I would think this would be a great place to bring a client, particularly from out of town.
Service was excellent - food was ok - overpriced
My husband and I had an excellent fine dining experience here with live piano music, delicious food and fun ambiance. We loved it!
Had a wonderful family dinner at One Market during Restaurant Week. Service and food were excellent - and the location can’t be beat - at the foot of Market Street near the Embarcadeto. We lingered for three hours in one of the very comfortable booths, and were never rushed by the waiter even though the restaurant became very crowded. Looking forward to a return visit!
My friend had swordfish, and i had scallops, both of which were cleverly cooked, and quite delicious. Our server was attentive without being annoying. My only error was making the reservation for 5 pm when the dining room opens at 5:30 pm.
We went for lunch during SF Restaurant week. Entirely enjoyable.
Every aspect of the meal for all three people was fantastic and delicious.
The food was fair but very expensive for what it was. We had to use a lot of salt and pepper. Service was slow and unattentive, even though the lunch crowd had passed. We all said we would not go back based on this particular experience.
Still a hot spot after all these years. The hostess took very good care of us. I wanted a quieter table and she did her best to accommodate me.
My wife and I came for SF Restaurant week, and we were very impressed with the tasting menu they put together. For our first course we both chose the white bean soup, which was unlike any white bean soup I've had before, and very tasty. For the entrees, I had a porkchop that was one of the best I've had in recent memory, and my wife had gnocchi that was also excellent. By the time dessert rolled around I was almost too full for it, but I'm glad I had a at least some of it, as the panna cotta was very good. Overall it was an amazing deal at only $40.
I've been here many times, and it has never disappointed. The Restaurant Week menu was a particularly great value, but even the normal menu is very reasonable for the level of quality.
Birthday lunch I treated myself to during SF dining week. Overall good experience except waiter never brought bread out to me even though everyone else around me got it. Got the bill wrong at the end and had to have him correct it. For an upscale lunch was expecting a bit better service.
Restaurant week menu was good, but not great. The server suggested a wine that paired perfectly, however. It was really noisy and busy. I will do dinner there and compare.
We came here for my wife's birthday dinner. We took the advantage of the 2008 SF Restaurant Week Promotion. It turned out One Market was a perfect choice. The food was creative and the portions were ample. The servers were attentive but not intrusive. My wife especially loved the white chocolate dessert. All and all, we had a wonderful dinner.
Great service, tasty cocktails and good food. Plenty of choice. Very accommidating for a gluten free member of the party.
Great pianist and perfect food, on half-price wine night. Doesn’t get much better than that.
They had to bring coffee out 3 times because it was not hot. The 3rd time it still wasn't hot. We ended up having the manager comp the coffees because our desserts were finished by the third time.
Also, we waited a 30 minutes at front waiting tables before being seated and no one came to serve us drinks.
We have been to One Market several times. Saturday evening dinner was not quite up to par as previous dinners. The pre-fix dinner was very good. My wife stared out her dinner with Brad's caesar. It was not up to par. Service was a bit lacking
The sautéed spinach was drowned in butter which made it incredibly greasy and the stems were left on making it hard to chew. The Ahi tuna was chewy and flavorless. Everything was overpriced for the bland dishes. And I don’t mind spending the money on great food which this was not. The service clearly lacked professionalism as our plates we plopped down and positioned incorrectly. My advice is to skip this restaurant.
The restaurant was full when we arrived but we were seated promptly and a very comfortable booth. Server, Steven, know the menu and guided us capably. The market lunch for only $25 has to be the best deal in town. Cannelloni with a lovely salad and then delicious Petrale sole. Only disappointment was that they had sold out of the local Dungeness crab cakes. I will be back soon.
We could only get a 5:30 reservation, so the noise level was low; probably not bad when busy. I had the medallions of pork, which was excellent. The other 3 had the scallops, which were nothing special. The wine list is pricey and the corkage is $40?? enjoyed the experience.
Amazing food and great service! Will definitely come back to this longstanding gem.
Wonderful early dinner with great pianist
Our food and waiter were great but the pianist made the evening - upbeat, non intrusive but really great. Made the whole dinner very festive!
Wonderful staff: very attentive and knowledgeable!
HORRIBLE. New Years and I got served raw steak, an inexcusable offering from the chef who prepared it to the service person who delivered it. I ate a Braised lamb dinner, far from the NY steak I had ordered. My appetite was so put off that I did not finish my entrée and passed on dessert.
I would never return. If the service cannot be trusted on New Years, when you want to leave a positive impression, when can you trust it. I waited close to 25 + minutes to have raw meat served. Because I had to run to make my New Year's eve show, I did not have the time to personally convey my displeasure after leaving almost 1/2 the meal over.
If I return to the same hotel I stayed at, I will make a point to set the concierge desk know not to refer guests to this restaurant.
Took my wife here for her birthday and everything was fantastic. Food was delicious, and the service and atmosphere were on point. We will most definitely be returning next time we are in town.
Food was delicious , ambiance was nice and quiet, and our server Jeff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back. The only complaint was we were surprised that even though our party of 3 had reservations, had gotten there early and waited in the bar area, the hostess eventually led us to a table by the window right by the piano in the bar area! We had to ask her if we could have a seat in the main dining area which she obliged. It wasn’t as if the restaurant was crowded that early on a Fri night. Be sure to order the wonderful prix fixe dinner which is only offered on certain nights. In our case, it was offered that Thurs and Fri nights.
Great menu. Accommodating and pleasant staff
One Market just doesn't fail. Sensational meal with great service. Our waitress was tops. It was a great evening.
We took out of town guest to our go-to favorite restaurant and they loved it. We always get such good attention. The food is fresh and innovative and delicious (including a 28 day dry-aged bone-in rib eye that was to die for)!
First time as a local at restaurant. Food was really outstanding. Nice touch with the piano, but the loudness of it was over the top, as we could not hold a conversation? We were out to dinner, and not a concert. Restaurant was not full, yet it took too long to get cocktails to the table.
We enjoyed their special Christmas Eve dinner menu. The food was delicious, excellent service too. This was our first time to eat at One Market and we will be returning.
We were seated next to a person who doused themselves with stinky perfume..we asked to be moved and we accommodated with no problem.
Great meal, great Service. Great experience....except for the perfume part.... :)
We have enjoyed One Market for many years. Something is terribly wrong with it of late. We had Thanksgiving dinner there and the entrees were horrible. They couldn't even turn out a decent turkey dish. We were astounded so decided to give them another try for Christmas Eve. Again, shockingly awful food. The menu sounds delicious but the actual plates have really declined. Our party pretty much ordered various items and there was not one plate that would give hope that the restaurant is worth another try.
the server we had was terrible. she didn't even bother to try to be friendly to serve us. rarely check on us how we were doing through out dinner. I would not suggested to dine at this restaurant.
