Amazing food and service, got a nice walk around the water after. Great place!
Great restaurant- excellent food, outstanding service . . .
It was a special pre Valentine's Day
And the meals were spectacular as was that Rippon reisling!!! Service all around something you can be proud of...thanks John
Super food and service!
Food was spectacular. Service was great. It isn’t a hipster place. I dined alone and felt completely comfortable.
The food is excellent and the service very good in a beautiful setting with lovely live piano music and stunning flowers
Food was very good. Ample portions. Service was painfully slow.
Very good overall. Always has interesting vegetable and other side dishes and had a variety of interesting foods for Black History Month, but we all opted for the prime rib special. Very good, cooked correctly, large enough for lunch and dinner the following day. Horseradish blend was bland, but they brought us some straight raw horseradish, which pepped things up. Popover was a little dry, a bit overbaked, but then where can you find a popover at all? They let me subsitute a soup for the wedge salad at no extra charge. Soup was very good. Creamed spinach was over-the-top creamy for my taste, but some might love it. Mashed potatoes were fine, nothing special. Bread, very good as always. Special included desserts for $5. The crunchy cake with ice cream was very nice. We had asked for a quiet table, booth if available when we reserved. We were seated far from the piano, which was good as it was quite loud if you were close, but pleasant where we were, in a booth next to the window. Very nice.
Outstanding food! Friendly reception. Tonya the sommelier was wonderful!
Great prime rib. Good selection of half off wines.
Wine list was very expensive with it's pricing for California. Unfamiliar in general for wine offerings. Food prices high for what was served since one needs to order à la cart, restaurant decor tired and noisy ambience. Have had lunch at One Market many times over the years on business. Selected OM for our friends visiting from Germany who wanted to have steak dinner. Could have dined at so many other restaurants and sadly wish that we had, as we left underwhelmed.
The roasted chicken, which we love, was a bit dry this time.
Huge restaurant with very good food. Service reasonable. Excellent decor wit piano music, prices average for a nice restaurant.
We were celebrating my husband’s retirement and wanted to have a lovely family dinner. It turned out perfectly! We were seated by the window overlooking the Ferry Building and the illuminated Bay Bridge. The hosts were so gracious and welcoming when we arrived and our wait person David was terrific. The bus staff was also very attentive and polite. The meals were all served hot, beautifully presented and so tasty. We had ordered a custom inscribed cake which was so pretty and really delicious! We had a great and memorable dinner and really appreciate the excellent work of the staff!
Always an excellent choice for a large group. Easily accessible to public transit, parking not impossible.
Has all the elements of a great venue. Wonderful food, great variety, no fussiness, attentive service, enough room to mingle. Special kudos for the always stellar wine service, led by the marvelous Tonya Pitts. Fun to observe the rotisserie, and to sit by the kitchen.
Restaurant week so good value. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and cod was well balanced with ristotto and pepper but our very favorite was choc.mousse cake..so smooth and rich and nicely plated! Service was attentive and friendly. Had a table in the rear which was fine noise wise but further up looked like a problem. Felt the wine list was way overpriced and will do corkage next time. Thanks for nice evening.
I was here for restaurant week. The food was excellent, as was the service. There was a piano player as well. Very nice experience.
Went here with my wife for lunch, as we were spending a day in San Francisco. We are native San Franciscan's...
Live out of town now.
We went during San Francisco Restaurant Week. I took advantage of their $25 special luncheon. A rock shrimp soup and a pasta/beef dish. Not impressed with either. Both dishes were considered bland.
My wife had crab cakes. She felt that she has had better at half the price.
The restaurant was busy with business types. If my business was paying the tab, I would not have complained as much.
I've been to One Market several times, and it never disappoints. It's a great spot for a special occasion.
One Market is one of my favorites -- food is solid, excellent wine list and excellent service. The beautiful setting across from the Ferry Building makes it a great choice to take visitors.
How refreshing to be able to carry on a conversation in a packed restaurant. Lovely ambiance. Crab cakes are superior and that chocolate toffee crunch cake can't be beat.
Excellent food and service. Loved the experience!
Food was great. Did tasting menu. Service needs improvement. Took a long time to even get water. The place had other customers, but wasn't super busy. Waiter looked me in the eye, walked passed me to chat with people at the table next to us.
Ordered a bottle of sparkling wine. Waiter put it on ice for us (away from the table), but wasn't attentive enough for refilling the glasses.
Absolutely lovely service and ambiance. The food was amazing, I would definitely go here again.
Amazing service and ambiance. I went for lunch and had a nice a great view of the Embarcadero without the noise. It is a calming place to eat and the food came on time. Platting was art. Taste of food was average. The polentta was not properly seasoned and the pasta was nothing special for the price. The appetizers and dessert were great. Would come back for dessert, a glass of wine or coffee.
The waiter did a good job of dish descriptions, which did not disappoint. They were tasty, and the desserts were the best part.
Our party of four were seated toward front of restaurant where unfortunately the piano was so loud that we could not have a conversation without yelling to each other. Don't know if it is always this bad, but good idea if you request a table away from the piano. Food was A++, and Service even better!
Fine service and elegant setting. Scallop dish was extraordinary. The rest of the meal was adequate but not impressive. (We had the restaurant week menu and added the scallops.) I confirmed my impressions with my wife who likes lightly dressed salads and is concerned if pork is underdone. We both thought that the salad dressing and thus the salad lacked flavor, tho the ingredients were good, and that the pork chop was overdone and dry. We didn't want to make a fuss since 3 of 4 of us ordered it, but it was a problem----especially as I had specifically told the waiter that I wanted some 'pink' in the middle and it was cooked through and thus dry. Not sure if the waiter forgot to specify to the chef, or the chef ignored my request. It was a little suspicious that when our main courses were brought to the table, the server did not have any idea that one chop was supposed to be medium-rare/pink. The sides were fine.
A wonderful dining experience all around! The food and service is truly amazing!
great location, super nice staff and service, but steak not cooked as asked.
I was so looking forward to trying One Market, it had been on my “wanna try” list for years. But while the food was decent if unexciting, the service was lackluster and riddled with inattention (forgot parts of our order, brought soup with no spoons and left us sitting there until we could flag someone down five minutes later.) it wasn’t a bad experience, it just wasn’t a great one or one that, in a city filled with great restaurants, will leave us eager to return. The service didn’t match the prices.
Excellent bar menu and dinner menu. Husband enjoyed the market cut and the sides were as amazing as the cut. I had the cod- delicious. Wine pairings were fantastic too. Service was great. Very friendly, knew it was our anniversary. Dessert, chocolate mousse cake with coffee ice cream, delightful way to end the meal.
Two of three of us ordered steak, one well done and one medium-well. The steaks were grossly undercooked and raw in the center.
I was really looking forward to my first trip to One Market and thought I would really like the restaurant. Unfortunately, while the food was very good, our overall dinner experience was so-so. For the money spent, I prefer Kokkari.
As some reviewers stated, service can be painfully slow. Other than water and maybe bread, we waited a very long time for each following item: wine, appetizers, entree. Service seemed uneven also. We weren't sure why many tables received complimentary amuse bouche, but we did not. If dinner hadn't already taken more than 1.5 hours, we would have had coffee and dessert. Throughout dinner, the person who filled our water glasses was very attentive.
The food was very good, and the quality of my Alaskan halibut was excellent. I can certainly see, however, why some would object to the size of the dish, given its $36 price. Both the caesar and kohlrabi/apple salads were a good size. All in all, not a bad experience, but I don't see returning when there are so many other choices in San Francisco.
The service was good but the food was awful. The lemonade was good. I had the shrimp veloute and it was bland, the shrimp had no flavor. The veloute was followed by trout, which was not the freshest and over diced and sliced carrots and celery with no flavor. The waitress was very good about taking care of the table, other than me having to ask for her to return my cc. I guess it was good enough for government work, but I would not reccomend it nor would I go back.
As always, One Market is the best! I have been there many times and have never been disappointed.
I have had nothing but excellent meals at One Market of the three times I have eaten there in the last year. Their grilled octopus is the best I have ever had, their desserts and cocktails are excellent, and the service and wine list stand out as well. This is a solid upscale place that manages to attract a good crowd by offering value time and time again, from offering a $5 dessert menu after one has oredered a full lunch to an excellent happy hour. A friend and I splurged on desserts and were happy we did, as both the butterscotch pudding and the chocolte toffee crunch cake were worth every calorie. I will continue to commute the 25 miles one way to meet friends here for memorable lunches and other occasions.
I'm going to say 5 for service even though the restaurant was extremely busy at lunch and the waiter either forgot to put in my entree or forgot to pick it up.
Food was quite good. Waiter was inexperienced and not helpful. Noise level way too high.
I've never had a tough tenderloin, but sure got one here...service was spotty
