One Main Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time there. On a very hot summer night there was no air conditioning. It also was very dark in the restaurant. I couldn't see the menu well or my food. I had their signature braised short rib which was dry and my husband had the shrimp gumbo which he enjoyed. I don't think I would go back. It was quite noisy.
First asked for rasberry Vodka..no luck. Then asked for drambui and was told they didnt have it. More on that later. When our food was delivered, the guy (not the waiter) said steak? None of us ordered steak...it was ribs. I would think he should have known that, especially 3 of 4 of us had ordered ribs. Food was good. On the way out, i looked at tbe bottles lined up behind the bar...yep. drambui was there! I have had many great experiences for brunch here and its awesome. From now on, that is what i will go there for. Hopefully, others will have a better experience.
We were seated quickly. Service was good. The appetizers were good, but the meal was just ok. The burgers were burned and one of the two was lacking sauce while only one was ordered without it. One steak was overcooked. The other meal had a hair in it.
I had eaten at One Main previously and everything was great. When I received an Open Table gift card, I decided to revisit the restaurant . Unfortunately this experience was terrible. Upon arriving, the hostess could not find my reservation. I offered to show her my reservation confirmation number and she said "that won't help". Seriously?? After 20 minutes, they found a table and we were seated. Everything about the service was slow, we waited at least 10 minutes for anyone to even approach us. We ordered breakfast. My daughter's food was okay but my omelet, homefries, and toast were all very well done, almost burnt. They forgot my bacon and when they finally brought it, it was burnt as well. We had to wait too long for the waitress to bring the check. It was a total waste of money. Will not be going back
I had higher expectations for the food than what was delivered. I had the blackened shrimp pesto and although it was tasty, the pasta was way over done and there was way too much sauce. My boyfriend had Fred's spicy burger which was not in the least bit spicy. It was also a bit bitter and bland. The beer selection was good, and the beer I had was perfectly cold and delicious. The prices were a little high for the quality I received. I would recommend going for drinks, and I have also heard brunch is very good. But for dinner, I may go somewhere else.
Our first two visits were better than this last one. My lobster omelet (which I loved the first time I ordered it there) was overdone. I probably should have sent it back but I was hungry, plus being Sunday brunch it was very busy & I didn't want to wait for a Take 2. After the meal my wife told me her French toast was a little overdone as well, and the bacon which she specified to be done crisp was limp and underdone.
Every restaurant has its off days and we will be back there since a) we had two previously good experiences there and b) it's close by our parish of St. Joseph's which makes it a convenient stop when we are in the mood for a Sunday brunch. And for the record, I am NOT looking for any "freebies" from One Main and would turn them down were they offered. But I learned from my mother, a former restaurant hostess, that it's important to let restaurateurs know about problems since repeat business is the life's blood of any restaurant.
Hostess , bartender and waitress were the only things good about this place.
Our entrees were horrible. Fish only came with 5 broccoli florets and I was told there was a lot of broccoli since it didn't come with a starch. The sliced strip steak was fatty, sauce was overbearing and very tiny portion of spinach. Guess there was a shortage on veggies
We came as a party of six, the hostess was pleasant, as my wife and I arrived first, I ask to be seated. They did which was good, we ordered drinks as the others arrived as well. The waitress Emily, was very nice and friendly. My scotch on the rocks was mostly ice. I hate when a restaurant doesn't serve a good drink! After two "half drinks" I ordered a beer. Appetizers were ordered, the pizza was real good, but the seared tuna was very small slices but very tasty. For our meals, three of us ordered the 14 oz. ribeye steak, two ordered the Mahi and one ordered the sliced skirt steak. The steak looked more like 8oz. Than 14 oz., mine was way over cooked and they all were about 1/2" thick! Not worth the $30 that they get for it. The lobster mashed potatoes were excellent though. The other meals were on the small side but they were enjoyed by my guests. I ended the meal with a cappuccino. It was good but delivered in a small coffee cup (not an espresso cup), but I saw other tables with the traditional cappuccino glass. Not that it mattered but looked strange! We may have enjoyed our company but on this road, there are many restaurants, I think I would try another before I give this one a second chance.
We love a pub atmosphere which One Main has but the menu and food are much better than the average pub. I had a chicken and pasta dish and my husband had lobster ravioli, and both were excellent. But you can also get burgers and sandwiches. The menu is very varied so you can always find something you like. And the service is friendly, professional and efficient. We highly recommend One Main.
The waitress wasn't attentive at all. I ordered a side of eggs to along with my pancakes but she forgot but I didn't even make a big deal or mention it to her because when she did come back around it was to late. We all finished our food when she checked up on us, matter fact she never checked up on us. Food was very good, at least just service sucked. My friend ordered a beer so he can have with his burger and when the beer came it was too late.
We enjoyed the menu options, the well-prepared and tasty meals that we wound up ordering and the great value. The server was delightful and while she was busy with all the other customers, we were in no hurry. The chef accommodated our meal modifications and made the substitutions that we requested. The ambiance was pleasant and it was nice to see a decent crowd there for lunch. This was my first lunch there and I'll definitely recommend One Main for lunch in addition to dinner.
Food was good but parts of the order were missing and took way too long to get to the table. Drinks weren't much quicker. Staff very friendly and look like they're working hard enough. Not sure if they were short handed or under staffed. Will check it out again in the near future and let you know.
Came here with some friends and all enjoyed their meals. The pizzas ate perfect for two or three people. The avocado fries were very good. One friend reported that the crab avocado quesadilla was much "fishier" then anticipated but was still enjoyed! Have come for brunch in the past and it was very good.
As always we had a delicious brunch. This was the first time I noticed waffles on their specials menu. LOVED them! They were simply the best waffles I have ever had. My husband's home fries perfectly cooked and seasoned. The wait staff and hosts are always upbeat, courteous, and friendly.
One Main was very nice inside. Was loud when we first got there but the noise level died down as it got later. Our waitress was very nice, polite, but in the beginning it seemed like she had a few too many tables to cover. Luckily she stepped it up afterwards and got everything out to us very quickly. I'd recommend One Main, food was delicious and came out perfectly.
Once again we had a great meal at One Main and the service was fantastic. Carina our server, as well as Tim, and Warren other wait staff took good care of us. In addition every time we have eaten at One Main the host comes by and asks how everything is. We're so glad the Caroline the Chef is back!
