Very nice place. Courteous and great service Roomy and clean feeling Mice menu we really enjoyed it
We really loved the service, food and especially the drinks. Very nice place, going back soon.
Fresh and very well prepared food. Small but nice wine selection. Everything was delicious.
Price is a tad high but not exorbitant. Very nice service.
Lively and younger vibe.
Very disappointing. Had restaurant week menu. Taste combinations were not good. Quinoa with blackberries and salmon with orange marmalade? Did anybody taste that?
Hi Richard. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your restaurant week selections. We chose them based on our guests preferences and our Salmon is one of our most sought after dishes. I'm not sure if you made customizations but our Salmon is served pan seared, with black rice + quinoa, grilled asparagus + orange marmalade, yum! All our of dishes are developed and tasted by our management team. Hope you will try us again soon!
We visited during Restaurant Week and took advantage of that menu. The options were all tempting yet we both ended up ordering the tomahawk steaks. We were not disappointed. The portion of fries was a tad overwhelming, but that’s a minor critique. The steak was cooked perfectly.
They were very busy and rooms were loud. Server was very accommodating. Food was delicious!
I loved everything about this place. We were greeted warmly, seated promptly, wonderful server and bartender with great food and tasty drinks, clean restrooms too! What can I say I’m picky. I will be going back this weekend to celebrate a birthday and I am so looking forward to it.
Really enjoyed the evening including our server Bernice. The only misstep was that i had notated in the reservation that this was a birthday celebration and it was not acknowledged. This has not been an issue with other restaurants.
Food is absolutely phenomenal here. You can taste the freshness in everything you eat. Farm fresh. Bottomless Bellinis, great and chipper service - you cannot go wrong here!
Unfortunately, we will not return to this restaurant. The service was terrible. I made an 8:45 reservation and requested a booth. Two booths were open and the hostess said she couldn't give them to us because they were reserved. They remained empty throughout the night. Our waitress was not polished in anyway and knocked a bunch of things over throughout the night, including my husband's beer. She did replace the beer after dropping it all over him and the floor, however I would have expected her to offer to comp it. We ordered the artichoke dip which I do not recommend (it was more of a broth with large pieces of artichoke) and the Brussels sprout appetizer (it was fine). I ordered the beet salad with steak added. It was fine, however very overpriced for the portion size. My husband asked if he could have anchovies on his caesar salad and was told by the waitress they do not have anchovies (this seems to be a pretty standard ingredient in such a salad). Burger was fine.
The decor of the place is terrific and the ambience is nice. I wish I had more positive stuff to say about the actual meal, pricing, and staff. I love Elmhurst's restaurant scene and hope for all of them to flourish.
Hello there. I am disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your last experience with us. I can assure you we try to accommodate all requests from our guests, including seating, when possible. The artichoke dip, beet salad, and burger are among our top sellers, and normally get great feedback. Don't worry, our menu changes seasonally! We hope you will change your mind in the future. All the best!
The food, atmosphere and staff are wonderful. One of the best places in the suburbs.
Everything was amazing. The food was so so good. We had the best time. We tried a bunch of different drinks and everything was perfect. Would recommend to anyone that wants to go on a date night and we will definitely be back!
Food was wonderful. Service even better. The hangar steak was to die for.
The food was truly amazing! Would highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the fried chicken. Cute little spot for a nice date night.
Food was good, but the amount of food for the price wasn't worth it. I was still hungry after eating there. Waitress was great and attentive to our needs, and the ambiance was nice, but overall value for what I was eating for what I paid isn't good for 151.
Wonderful as always. Tasty food. Not too loud and very attentive folks including Denise who served us.
Good food, excellent staff. Suggested more specialty drinks other than the whiskey/tequila made drinks.
Great updated menu - everyone in our party got something different and no one was disappointed. Great service and good to see this place busy on a cold Friday night! Definitely looking forward to a return visit in the near future!
Loved the food, the ambiance, beer selection was pretty good. My daughter, a Chicago foodie, loved her salmon dish but thought the salmon itself was missing something. My kale, spinach, quinoa, chicken salad was amazing. We were on a tight schedule and the service, we had a reservation, got there a bit early and were immediately seated. Will definitely return.
Ordered steak medium. It was cooked well done instead. Server was pleasant, but forgetful and scattered. She also forgot a salad at our table.
Everything we ordered tased AMAZING. All of the dishes were well seasoned and well portioned. The restaurant itself got a bit louder the later it got, but overall my first experience with 151 was great!
Food was solid. Very good selection of beers and a very skilled, creative bartender.
Went out for dinner with a friend and we decided on this place because she’d never been and wanted to try something new. I’m not surprised that she’s already making plans to go back. Again, EVERYTHING I tasted was absolutely delicious! Kate was our server again and Drew, the manager was there again. I love them! Exemplary service. Very warm and welcoming. It couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend you give them a try if you’ve never been. No matter the occasion, this is a great place to dine.
I took my mom here as it was recommended to us. The meal was perfect, the cocktails were delightful, and the service was great. Not too pricey for a nice night out.
Incredible!!!! We were shocked at every turn! From our server Andrea who was more like a guide to amazingness! To the warm visit from their manager Drew! This is the best restaurant in Elmhurst. Thank you! We will be back!
Absolutely incredible from start to finish. A true neighborhood gem! We will be back.
My family and I went to 151 Kitchen to celebrate my birthday. The manager was standing at the hostess stand when we arrived and he made sure we received top notch service. EVERYONE that helped us that night was nice, welcoming and friendly. Our server, Kate was phenomenal. We’ll DEFINITELY be looking for her the next time we dine there! The food was OUTSTANDING! The drinks were excellent too!! I can’t wait to go back!!
Nice place to have a conversation. Good food choices.
My mom’s birthday
For an after-movie-at-the-York meal, this is a good choice. Salmon Nicoise was a variation on a French classic, nicely prepared, nicely presented. The crab sandwich packed some heat, expected in the aioli, but not so much in the pepper garnish. We lunched on New Year's Day, so maybe that was the reason, but shouldn't have been the excuse, for indifferent service: the hostess showed us to our table, but didn't look up from her I-phone when we left; our waiter did the minimum expected with an attitude that suggested we were an inconvenience; he did not check the table for condiments, nor were any offered in spite of ordering food and drink where salt, pepper and sugar would have been welcome; we were not offered the opportunity to have dessert. Other reviews of this restaurant show a wide variation in both food and service quality--our experience matched theirs.
Hello Pastora, Regardless of the day of year, we strive to provide each and every guest with a dining experience that exceeds expectation. It seems that we felt short on your visit and I apologize for that! We appreciate the feedback and have addressed your comments. We hope that you will allow us the opportunity to WOW you on your next visit. We look forward to welcoming you back. Sincerely, Kristi Blessing, Operating Owner.
We had a reservation but they were closed for a private event!
Hi Anna, I am truly sorry for the error with your NYE reservation! After looking into further, we found out that there was a glitch in the OT reservation system which allowed you to make a reservation even though we had it blocked out. Our NYE Party was open to the public. I hope that you can accept our apologies and give us another try! Sincerely, Kristi Blessing, Operating Owner
I had made a reservation several days before New Year’s Eve (for NYE) to dine around 9:00 pm. When I arrived to the restaurant there was a sign on the door stating “doors close at 8:00 pm due to private party.” I was very confused as I had been prompted to even confirm this reservation the day before. Many staff appeared to see my party outside and ignored our confusion. I will not be coming again.
Hello, thanks for your review. We had NYE Party available on OpenTable since November 1st. Normal Dinner service was from 12pm-8pm. Sorry if you were confused. Staff was busy setting up until 9pm and were instructed not to open the door until then. As much as we would like to be able to read each and every guests mind, we were unable to read your confusion. Hope you will give us a try in time. Have a good new year!
Excellent dining experience! Much better than anticipated!
Thanks for the review Steve! Hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, Kristi Blessing, Operating Owner
We had made a reservation to have an early dinner, before seeing ‘Cats’, at the York Theater, not knowing the restaurant was closing at 3:00 PM to prep for a private party beginning at 5:00 PM.
The Manager phoned us at 3:00, to tell us, that we were welcome to come in, as there was a ‘closed’ sign on the door. He met us at the door and seated us in the private room adjacent to the dining room, so that we would not be distracted during the party preparations! Amazing!
Andrea, our server and premier bartender, recommended wonderful cocktails to begin. We were not rushed in any way, and she was so attentive during our entire relaxed experience.
The Brie appetizer and luscious Tomato Bisque soup were extraordinary! Our Sea Scallop and Sea Bass entrees rivaled any we have ever tasted! It was truly a superb meal... totally unexpected!
Hospitality, service, and extraordinary food were the highlights of our evening! Kudos to the Chef!
One Fifty One is, now, our favorite dining experience in Elmhurst!
Hey Fireman Hank! Thanks for the kind words! It's always nice to hear when guests have a great dining experience! Hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, Kristi Blessing, Operating Owner
I was so surprised by this place! Delicious food, great service, many choices and salmon on the kids menu! We will be back for sure!
Never disappoints! I always stop here when I am in town.
Nice place. The ambiance was nice, the service was outstanding, and the food was terrific.
Fantastic food complimented by greatly service.
I do not recommend this restaurant for buffet brunch or a special event. The brunch spread was not that different than a continental breakfast at a budget hotel yet the price was $29/adult. The food was cold and it refreshed regularly. The brunch price did not even include coffee or soft drinks. Over priced and under whelming.
The place is so nicely decorated. It’s very hard to find a parking spot, so you need to give yourself at least 15 to 20 minutes. The menu was very poor to such restaurant; they literally have 4 items for dessert. Additionally, the plate is so small and overly priced. I wouldn’t go back after that experience.
