One Door East
One Door East is the newest venture for restaurateurs Giovanni Rocchio and Elke Quintana. The industrial, modern vibe features teal walls and a cement floor while light jazz and funk music play in the background. The knowledgeable staff includes top notch servers and mixologists who create all the signature cocktails offered at One Door East.
Tapas from around the world, featuring both large and small plates, is the concept behind the menu at One Door East. Chef Jeremy Bearman worked with the owners to create the unique menu offerings most of which are prepared on an oak wood-fired grill. Popular options include dishes such as sage and squash biscuits, eggplant buttermilk fries, pork belly or tuna tacos and duck salad.
Food is very good, unique & perfect for sharing. Menu is great, good variety for different tastes!
Ultimately I was disappointed. I give them points for trying but like most restaurants in the South Florida area they fall short. The menu is interesting with small dishes in the tradition of Spanish tapas. If your going to serve a small focused dish in front of a hungry ambitious diner it’s got to be spot on. As an example, I ordered the bbq brisket. As most know, brisket is an inexpensive cut of beef that with care and skill can be one of the tastiest slices of meat you will ever eat. The brisket served was bland and tuff to chew. Another dish, tuna tacos, was tasty but light on the tuna. It’s the little things like putting enough tuna in a taco that makes the difference between a great restaurant and just another restaurant.
Great vibe and particularly good service. Food was exceptional and drinks are always a good thing. Pricing seemed a bit high, but hey, it’s high cost Florida. Not an every day thing, but well advised for a special treat.
Service was very snooty and did not seem to have time of day for us. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and they charged us for the cake! The food was tiny and average. Super loud and very pretentious. Be sure to wear your best shoes because it’s the sort of place that’s only about the “scene”. We won’t be back and we dine out with friends frequently. We shall warn them off this high priced ripoff.
Good service, wonderful food. A favorite spot
It was just ok. Under seasoned and over priced. The tomato & burrata had zero seasoning, and salt is not offered on the tables. The brisket was painfully dry. The beef udon was Chinese takeout in a nice dish. Great service, but won't be back.
Great place... very nice variety of foods and wines, especially wines. Great for parties, birthdays and just for get together.
Every time we dine there we have a nice experience. Wait staff, cocktails, amazing small dishes. Not much else to ask for.
Food delicious. Ambience comfortable and relaxing. Service reasonably good.
This was my 4th visit. Food is exceptional, but service is not great. Servers kind of have an “attitude”
Too loud! Couldn’t even have a conversation. Otherwise awesome
If you're going to One Door East, I recommend you eat first. $100 later, we left hungry
I went with a small group of friends. We were greeted in a friendly manner, the restaurant and the bar were beautiful, and the service superb. What we appreciated most was the wonderful variety of small plates that were available to order...perfect for us with one vegetarian, one fish only and two who can enjoy everything. It was a wonderful dinner with great ambience and attentive, helpful service...we will be back soon!
The menu is tapa style and is great for sharing. The staff was exceptional at timing the food. It’s wonderful to try a little of a lot of dishes.
We had an awesome experience at One Door East! No issues making a last minute reservation. The ambiance was great - modern and unique artwork, dim lighting, sleek furniture. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with both food and drink recommendations. There were three of us and we ordered about 10 different dishes to share. Every dish was fantastic and perfectly portioned for sharing. It was fun to be able to try so many different things. We would definitely recommend to friends and will be back!
Great ambiance. The food and drinks were great. It’s a little pricey but worth it!
Started poorly 2 entrances to valet cars were at a standstill. We ordered . The drinks took 25 minutes. The first plate came a half hour later. Then while EVERYONE around was feasting we never received our other 4 plates. The cowardly manager never came to our table. After 1.5 hours we left hungry. Oh by the way it was a bday dinner. Not even an apology.
I am a local. I will tell all my friends to stay away. This place is terrible.
Food was excellent. Way too noisy and service was inattentive and slow
The food was delicious and the service great. But we were seated on the bar side which was not to our liking. We were a table for 2 and could not hear a thing we said to each other
Hopefully we will be seated on the restaurant side.
From the art lining the walls to the meal, our senses were enthralled from the table set before us with recommendations from Greg , our Server. Beers flowed as a women-brewed beer release consisting of a porter well laid with vanilla, coffee and chile.
Lucas is terrific! The service was excellent. The only issue we had was the price for a scotch whiskey was higher on the final bill than it was on the menu. The manager tried to explain it to us however we felt it was inappropriate but said nothing. The kinks need to be worked out so that the menu price is reflected in the final bill price. The manager explanation took away some of the positive feelings of the evening.
It was delicious! I thought portion sizes were perfect!
Reservation was honored on time . Greeting staff was accommodating on seating request.
Menu selections were appealing and table service very good.
What an amazing experience our waiter was so charming we felt like family. We were a party of 6 and we had to catch an 8pm show. I let him know up from about our time constraints and he provided us with timely service and made to order yummy desserts and we made it to our show on time
The food was so unique and delicious we gobbled down everything The cocktails were excellent
We will be back for more
Innovative menu, expertly prepared food. Service was attentive and server was knowledgeable. Highly recommend
We had tapas and they were decent size. Drinks always good. We had a good experience and would come again !!!
Will definitely be back! They were clearly short staffed but the servers and managers were great. Service suffered a bit but overall a great experience. Looks like a great spot for Happy Hour too!
One of the best meals I’ve ever had in the world. Will definitely be back.
Our server Lucas was extremely attentive and gave us ideas on what to order, since it was our first time at One Door East. Everything was delicious! We will definitely return again very soon.
Great place. Excellent food. Creative tastes. Cool atmosphere. Just loud.
Had a lovely dinner. Tried many dishes and all were very tasty.
The service was excellent as well. It’s a great neighborhood haunt.
Looking forward to trying the Dinner in the Dark experience
There as well in the near future.
Didn’t get seated till an hour after our reservation.
It was my Birthday they tried to give my party of 6 a table with barstools. We waited and then the food was cold and none of my guest got food at the same time. It took forever and we asked for bread that was burnt. My friends ordered brisket which was all fat. I will never go back again! Disgusted!
Excellent food! Great vibe. Server had an attitude, but we enjoyed our food immensely. Would recommend to foodies. Some of the best food I’ve had in Ft Lauderdale in a long time
Food is outstanding. I have never had anything that disappointed me. Great casual dining with farm to table concept.
I don’t even know where to begin. Our server was okay. Friendly not perfect but fine. He went over how the menu is tapas style, which I was aware of, as the 4 of us had dined her previously. So that being said one would assume that “mains” would be a generous portion for potentially sharing. I ordered the $26 chicken which was served with NO accompaniments. I received it and it was both white and dark meat which I believe should be noted on the menu. The white meat was about two 3”X3” pieces and a tiny drumstick and tiny wing. It was literally appalling. I was aware of the fact that I thought it was moderately overpriced but this was infuriating. They didn’t think so although they did bring me something else. I had ordered a side of street corn which could serve multiple people so that and the chicken would be $41! That’s insane. The manager had a pretty much “I don’t give a f#+k” attitude and I won’t be back. It’s a shame because the food is tasty.
From start to finish everything was exceptional: Hand crafted cocktails, fresh ingredients, perfectly sized tapas...incredible food!
They need to bring back their old menu!
Had not dined at this restaurant in a year. We live nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and found all the dishes to be
Looking forward to returning some time soon.
Amazing. Loved the food
