Food and service was great. Unfortunately no table was prepared/reserved for us when we arrived- we were told that we should have booked - we had - seemed to be a common theme with other patrons coming in as a table was made up for us in the area were incoming patrons assembled. The only other negative was that, while we were there celebrating Mother's Day and choose the Mother's Day special menu, a surcharge was added to the cost as it was a Sunday. Mother's Day always falls on a Sunday!! If a price is quoted for special events that require a surcharge to be added, then the surcharge should be included in the advertised price - anything else probably constitutes false advertising.

All the food was delicious! We had the Mother’s Day Brunch and everything was so good. The oysters were very fresh, and the desert was lovely! The jasmine tea was so fragrant and arguably the best I’ve ever had. The customer service was even better! The lady was so nice, always looking after us. She gave plenty of recommendations for our indecisive group!

Something is off here. No good feel considering the lovely gardens surrounding the restaurant. Tables are cheesy, people wander through sporadically from the gardens, food is placed on the table with little explanation, had to request soy and chili sauce. Service utensils and plates/bowls make no sense. Almost all the food was delicious.

Wow … beautiful atmosphere garden’s outstanding You wouldn’t believe such a beautiful place existed in Sydney City . Food service … friendly water dragons swanning around in the dining area all part of our experience 10/10….

The venue was beautiful, with perfect weather—not too cold or hot. We had lived in Sydney for 20 years and never knew there was a restaurant in this garden! With half-outdoor seating, we enjoyed stunning views, while a cute lizard family jumping into the water added a fun touch. The menu offered three course options at different prices. We chose the Muddle Summer Banquet course. The yum cha was good, but the presentation was disappointing—nothing like the beautifully styled Instagram photos. The entrée came on a small plate, with fried chicken and dumplings mixed together. The slow-cooked pork was good, but the steamed rice wasn’t very fresh, and the green vegetables arrived late. And if we hadn’t asked, we would have missed the happy hour drink menu. If the food tasted and was presented as well as in the photos, this place would be packed. Many factors likely contributed to the lack of customers despite the stunning setting. That said, we still had a lovely anniversary dinner, thanks to the beautiful atmosphere and friendly, attentive waiters.

A Perfect Escape: Serene Setting, Impeccable Service & Unforgettable Flavours One Dining is a hidden gem that delivers not just a meal, but an experience. Nestled beside the stunning Chinese Friendship Garden, we were lucky enough to be seated with a beautiful view—watching the water dragons and carp at dusk made for the most serene and peaceful setting. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. Our waitress was friendly, attentive without hovering, and made sure every detail was just right. But the true highlight was meeting Stanley, the owner, whose passion for food and history shone through. He took the time to share stories about the garden, the origins of our dishes, and even brought over a personal favourite from his hometown in Shanghai—a delicious noodle dish that felt like a gift from the heart. We opted for the Yum Cha Set Menu, and while every dish was beautifully executed, the scallop dumpling stole the show. The xiao long bao were perfect—delicate, flavourful, and filled with rich broth—but that scallop dumpling was simply next level. Every aspect of the evening, from the exquisite food to the tranquil setting and the warm hospitality, made this a true escape from the busy city. Thank you, One Dining, for such a special and memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely food and atmosphere. Don’t go there if you are afraid of iguanas walking around. Would recommend waterfront table.

Half of the food we received was quite cold, specifically sides (crispy chicken bites and wagyu triangle). We had Pork Belly for main that didn’t feel proportionate as the serving was only four slices. The Chinese donut for dessert was cold(?) unsure if supposed to be that way. All dim sim’s and drinks were great including the service.
