How it all began....
Matt worked as a line cook in many places including Pennsylvania, New York, and Philadelphia, years ago knowing that one day he wanted to own his own restaurant. After taking many twists and turns, he ended up in Dela-where? As he would say, his wife suckered him in. (and maybe I did or maybe he suckered me in, but it was all meant to be)
His passion and commitment to the farms and waterman that reside on our menu, and to fortify an edible identity for Delaware is what keeps him going everyday. He is dedicated to his staff and wouldn't be able to do this without them. He is the real deal. Come in, have a drink, eat a meal, and see for yourself what makes this place so special.

Food and service were spectacular. Salads we started with were so fresh with seasonal ingredients. The shrimp over polenta with pine nut and garlic gremolata topping was out of this world. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Such a large portion- 2 of us shared after our salads and still some left.

Worth the 30 minute drive from Rehoboth. Food is excellent and very creative. Had the pear salad and chicken and biscuits appetizer. Large portions and great flavors. Dinner was tuna and catfish. Both perfectly cooked. Dessert was chocolate cake with pumpkin outstanding. Paired wit a South African chenin blanc. A perfect meal

Been going there for years. Kind of are go to place at the beach. The service was the worst that we have ever had. Server we have had many times. The food took for ever. Other people came in after us and received their food before us and when the food came out it was wrong. They did give us a free dessert for the long wait. I think I may have to find a new go to place

Worth a trip to quiet Fenwick Island, Delaware to dine at this amazing restaurant located in an unassuming strip mall just before Rte. 54. We have dined as a couple at the Delaware beaches for the past 20 years and had our best beach meal ever on Sat. night then returned Sunday evening to try a couple more dishes at the bar. Bar seating is a great option if you are unable to reserve a table since the dining area is quite small. Amazing wine list and farm-to-table curated dishes. If you are able to get to Fenwick in the off season, we stayed close by at a newer Hilton Tapestry property on Coastal Hwy that was also very nice. We will be back!

We have been regular diners since One Coastal opened maybe 10 years ago. It has new ownership and Chef and it's lost some of the culinary pizazz. Don't get me wrong, but it's not the same, good but not the wow factor. Service was very good.

Very nice meals with excellent service. The Parker House rolls were great. We are glad that we tried the restaurant after everything that we have heard. However, it didn’t quite live up to the hype.

I was expecting good food after reading the reviews but it was far better than I could have imagined. It’s a small area and it was full. The waitress was a delight and gave us her tips on favorites. Each of our meals was above and beyond with local seafood and spices mixed perfectly for an A+ meal. I highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic meal at One Coastal. I had the shrimp and my date had the tuna. Both were outstanding! The flavors were unique and every bite a pleasure. We shared a wonderful peach “pop tart” . Absolutely great meal ~ I would recommend this restaurant!

We enjoyed another excellent meal at One Coastal. We loved the new craft cocktails, chicken n biscuits, pork chops, and especially the tuna. The service was perfect. We are so glad they are open all year around! We will definitely be back, again and again.

The food is beyond amazing, cooked to perfection with beautiful plating. The ingredients are all fresh. The atmosphere is inviting. The owner, Karen, was so kind especially when our baby was getting a little fussy. She made us feel relaxed and helped us to really enjoy our dinner experience. This restaurant is exactly what Fenwick Island needs. We’ll definitely be back!

From the moment you are welcomed at the door, to the time you say “goodbye” - absolute perfection !! I have said it before, but I will say it again, “One Coastal doesn’t need to print a menu, just sit down and let them bring you whatever they are creating that day! You will not be disappointed.” Seriously, they know what’s good, don’t get in their way ! Cucumber Salad stole the show ! No words, just try it ! Best Pork Chops served anywhere in the WORLD !! Would love to put these pork chops to the test with Bobby Flay !! Great Service - Great Atmosphere - Unbelievable Food ! It doesn’t get better than One Coastal !!

I’d highly recommend One Coastal because the food is phenomenal! I’d highly recommend the tuna tartar, the steak & scallops. Some of the best food I’d had at the beach in the past 5 years! Make a reservation in advance.

Let me get the negatives out of the way, uncomfortable chairs, and the sun was in my eyes the whole time. They need better shades for the front windows. Our server Quinn was friendly and efficient, she brought our starters out immediately. The main courses took awhile, but once we got them it was worth the wait. We had four different entrees, flank steak, pasta, catfish, and scallops. All were piping hot, and delicious. Reading the menu I thought some of the sides and ingredients were odd, but they all worked and were delicious. I can’t wait to go back, with my back to the windows this time.

Outstanding food except for Tuna app. It had very salty sea beans (which were delicious) but was in a dressing that was primarily soy based (also salty). The dressing perhaps should be in the sweeter family, to balance the salt. The Pork Chop was outstanding and so was the Scallop dinner. I'm sorry I cannot remember our server's name. She was outstanding (and tall, ha ha!). The cocktails are imaginative and delicious! Pricing is on the high side but I would still say not horrible. I would return, for sure!

From the moment we walked in the door, we got a warm welcome. Quinn, our server was friendly and attentive. Food and drink was outstanding. The tuna appetizer is a must have. It was hard to decide on an entree, but all 4 of us were very pleased with our selections. Will definitely be back.

This is a very nice restaurant, great food, very nice wine list, lovely server and friendly wait staff. My smoked old fashioned cocktail was okay, a bit heavy on the simple and light on bitters, but I saw other cocktails on menu and walked by to other tables that I'd def go back to try. Starter salads - 'beets and berries', 'peaches and greens' - were fresh, seasonal, and tasty. Surprisingly, we didn't finish our starters before they brought our mains, so we set the unfinished parts aside. A small venue with few tables, a charming rustic bar on one side, and a large kitchen that sits on the other side in full view makes for a mixed ambiance hard to define. Spice crusted tuna was superrr fresh and perfectly prepared; North Carolina shrimp served with a polenta side made like I'd never had before was delish :) Be prepared for a real parking challenge during peak hours. Enjoy it!

The service was very good, with our waiter checking on us at the proper times without being intrusive. The food was delicious, but a bit overpriced. But, More than we could possibly eat. My only complaint would be that we were asked if we wanted rolls. We said yes, and received 4 small rolls covered in sea salt. They were good, but were charged $8 for them. A lot of restaurants don’t charge for bread. It comes with the meal. We enjoyed the overall experience.
