How it all began....
Matt worked as a line cook in many places including Pennsylvania, New York, and Philadelphia, years ago knowing that one day he wanted to own his own restaurant. After taking many twists and turns, he ended up in Dela-where? As he would say, his wife suckered him in. (and maybe I did or maybe he suckered me in, but it was all meant to be)
His passion and commitment to the farms and waterman that reside on our menu, and to fortify an edible identity for Delaware is what keeps him going everyday. He is dedicated to his staff and wouldn't be able to do this without them. He is the real deal. Come in, have a drink, eat a meal, and see for yourself what makes this place so special.

As always, we had a wonderful meal. We celebrated my birthday and were given complementary glasses of sparkling wine to begin. Our dinners were excellent- we started off with the beet salad and cauliflower soup. For our entree we selected chicken and dumplings and cacio e pepe. All dishes were well prepared and delicious. Our server, Chloe, was perfectly attentive and friendly. We will return!

Everything was excellent: the atmosphere ( casual, and very friendly); service by Tristan was excellent; Brian is a terrific food deliver, host, and conversationalist. The menu is terrific with a variety of different choices, and all expertly prepared. We could not be more pleased. We shall return and recommend it without reservation. W. Rogers, Washington, DC.

The food was awesome! The duck with mushrooms was tender and delicious. The cream of cauliflower soup was great and incredibly tasty. One of our favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back

One Coastal is an exceptional dining experience of wonderful tastes and flavors. From Happy Hour starters to entrees and dessert, the chef and staff deliver amazing food with attentive service, - and the specialty cocktails are always a delightful sip, too! Our favorite restaurant by far, One Coastal is fine dining at its best.

This was our first visit to this small, local restuarant. One of us had rockfish with a potato-bacon chowder base that was fantastic; and the fish was perfectly cooked. The other person had the corn-meal coated catfish on a lentil base - so interesting and tasty. The restaurant was not crowded in the off-season and the servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The bar-tender made us a special cocktail, and we got to taste a few wines before ordering. I would definitely return to try more dishes.

We've visited One Coastal twice, and have really enjoyed the whole experience. The food is outstanding, staff and service very friendly and professional. The cost is also reasonable. We're hooked :).

Chef and his crew are exceptional. There were 3 of us, all different apps and main courses. Just delicious. There is a lot of interesting intrigue in each dish, a lot of thought, imagination not seen normally. We shared a dessert. Just exceptionally beautiful and tasty. Ocean City and the southern Delaware coast are fortunate to have this Chef. Support them and just GO!

I have eaten here multiple times and have never had anything that wasn’t incredible! Unique food and cocktails, large servings, friendly staff, open clean kitchen. Definitely my favorite local restaurant by far

This little spot in Fenwick is to die for! The food, drinks, and service was fantastic! My husband and I are thrilled to have a new dinner spot. We got the beef tartar, scallops, pork chop, and chocolate pumpkin dessert!

We have visited many time on our visits to Delaware. This restaurant is absolutely one of the best! Chef owned with locally sourced ingredients the passion that goes into the menu shows! One Coastal continues to be our place of choice for finer dining. It’s casual atmosphere does not detract from the gastronomic genius of Chef Matt and despite him not being in the kitchen this evening the food was exceptional. The pork chop remains one of the best found anywhere. The servers and bar staff are great and will not lead you astray. This is a place you will be sure to enjoy. Due to a special weekend in OC MD the crowd was a bit louder than usual. Still a fun dinner

Food and service were spectacular. Salads we started with were so fresh with seasonal ingredients. The shrimp over polenta with pine nut and garlic gremolata topping was out of this world. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Such a large portion- 2 of us shared after our salads and still some left.

Worth the 30 minute drive from Rehoboth. Food is excellent and very creative. Had the pear salad and chicken and biscuits appetizer. Large portions and great flavors. Dinner was tuna and catfish. Both perfectly cooked. Dessert was chocolate cake with pumpkin outstanding. Paired wit a South African chenin blanc. A perfect meal

Been going there for years. Kind of are go to place at the beach. The service was the worst that we have ever had. Server we have had many times. The food took for ever. Other people came in after us and received their food before us and when the food came out it was wrong. They did give us a free dessert for the long wait. I think I may have to find a new go to place

Worth a trip to quiet Fenwick Island, Delaware to dine at this amazing restaurant located in an unassuming strip mall just before Rte. 54. We have dined as a couple at the Delaware beaches for the past 20 years and had our best beach meal ever on Sat. night then returned Sunday evening to try a couple more dishes at the bar. Bar seating is a great option if you are unable to reserve a table since the dining area is quite small. Amazing wine list and farm-to-table curated dishes. If you are able to get to Fenwick in the off season, we stayed close by at a newer Hilton Tapestry property on Coastal Hwy that was also very nice. We will be back!

We have been regular diners since One Coastal opened maybe 10 years ago. It has new ownership and Chef and it's lost some of the culinary pizazz. Don't get me wrong, but it's not the same, good but not the wow factor. Service was very good.

I was expecting good food after reading the reviews but it was far better than I could have imagined. It’s a small area and it was full. The waitress was a delight and gave us her tips on favorites. Each of our meals was above and beyond with local seafood and spices mixed perfectly for an A+ meal. I highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic meal at One Coastal. I had the shrimp and my date had the tuna. Both were outstanding! The flavors were unique and every bite a pleasure. We shared a wonderful peach “pop tart” . Absolutely great meal ~ I would recommend this restaurant!
