   The igloo was cute and very different then the average restaurant, however the food was mediocre for the price. I also wasn’t made aware that it was $50 to rent the igloo, I thought it was a $50 deposit for saving our reservation. Too high of a price.

   We were looking forward to this experience most when we booked our stay and it did not disappoint. There were games to choose from and our waitress was willing to share other things we should do while we were there. Definitely a dream come true and we can’t wait to do it again!

   While the igloo is a cool vibe, spending $200 to sit on wet cushions and eat subpar steak out of to-go containers (delivered in paper bags like we ordered take-out) with plastic utensils was not worth it. Will be passing on this experience in the future. :(

   Overall, we had a very fabulous time! The atmosphere was super great! I would make two requests. Please heat the igloo before a the party gets there, not upon arrival. And also, if there'd be a way the server could somehow shut the door, when coming in and out, it would be handy. It got chilly quickly when she was in and out. But truly, a very memorable evening!

   Was such a wonderful magical evening. We had the very tasty platter of chicken wings and buckets of beer. So fun with great photos taken. We are definitely going to do the igloo experience again.

    Fun night with the family in an IGLOO. It was very pretty. The #1 issue is how the food is served. Sent out in to go boxes. Chili came in a cheap Tupperware storage container. Wine in a clear plastic Dixie cup. Hamburger was warm but bun was wet/soggy because of the condensation from to go container. Onion rings soggy as well. Recommend going for drinks as it is fun and so pretty, but would skip the dinner. Unless they fix how the food is served, it’s really not worth it. For $50 to rent it, I would have expected our food to be served in a little nicer fashion.

    I took four of my granddaughters (ages 4-7) to "The Rocks" at GVL for a Nana and girls lunch. The setting is beautiful and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for an outdoor event. Obviously, the girls ordered off the kids' menu which was a choice of mac and cheese; grilled cheese; quesadilla; chicken tenders; hamburger; or cheeseburger. Each came with a choice of French fries, chips or applesauce. It would have been nice if the kids' meals included a drink, but drinks were extra. One grandchild ordered grilled cheese; one ordered quesadillas; and two ordered mac and cheese. Granted, they were probably expecting something like Kraft mac and cheese in a box, but the mac and cheese at the Rocks was way less appealing. It looked like elbow macaroni with some white sauce in the bottom of the cup; it didn't even stick to the pasta. The two children who ordered mac and cheese thought it was disgusting so I had the other two girls taste it. No body liked it. When I mentioned to the waiter that my girls didn't like the mac and cheese it would have been appropriate if he had offered to get the kiddos something else. He did not. Not sure if he didn't offer because he's foreign and is not familiar with customer service American style or if he was following GVL protocols. Very disappointing. Not what I was expecting.

    Very nice setting outside during MN summers. Always crowded with Maddens guest so book a reservation. Feels a bit more upscale than most places which is nice. We have been several times and every time the hostess acts like she is doing you a favor to give you seat, which is annoying. Not welcoming. If you sit at the bar the bartenders are delightful. Food is generally good and reliable. One complaint is the rail seating chairs (not the bar stools) are way too low to eat comfortable.

    It was a very busy day filled with reservations and a new bartender was the only one in the outside bar. While we do not blame the bartender, it seems the manager on duty could have pulled a bartender from the Pub and assured her. We ordered pre-dinner drinks and 30 minutes later, the waitress tells us she’s a new bartender. After 45 minutes, our dinner arrived, still no drinks and so we cancelled the drinks. It was at the us time we got the lemonade we ordered 45 minutes prior as well. The food was good as always. I put waitress was pleasant and attentive. Managing of them outside area was a failure.

    Save your time and money - HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT * you are already spending a lot of money to be at this overpriced and run down resort and then have to wait 45 minutes to get a drink served in a dirty glass that had lip and fingerprints all over it. * had a reservation but that means nothing. * after seeing tables get served, fed and leave - we ended up going to another place Not recommended and a HUGE disappointment!

    Excellent food. The walleye fish and chips was the best walleye I have had yet in the Brainerd area, the breading was authentically fish and chips style, and delicious. Husband had the Minnesota Chopped Salad which was also delicious. Great outdoor patio overlooking the beautifully landscaped walkway to the lake with live entertainment.

    I last went in July of 2021 and was really disappointed in the menu on my most recent visit. Prior to 2022 the menu had more options and less "bar" type food. For being an outdoor restaurant I was looking for lighter fair or sandwich options such as a turkey club, BLT or similar not burgers and chicken fingers.

    We were seated on the lower patio which was ideal. Nice shade, perfect table and could still hear the live music from the upper patio. Love the lower patio!

    Booked lower level outdoor seating by the waterfalls and they would not honor that. Said they were not staffing the lower level and then 30 minutes after seating us on upper level, people were being served on lower level.

    Server was very poor. No steak knives with steaks. Said would bring ketchup for onion ring appetizer had to be reminded twice. Never asked if we needed more drinks. My walleye was great. Wife and daughters steaks were way overdone and tough.

    It's a fun spot at a classic Minnesota location but the service and food are only meh. I know to be patient given staffing challenges, and the staff were friendly (mostly) but holy cats everything took a long long long time. I had the Nashville fried chicken sandwich and I didn't finish even half of it. Kid had a grilled cheese which he said was tasteless. No acknowledgment of the wait, and in fact we had to flag people down to get silverware, napkins, and condiments. Know that this location is outdoor dining only. There are indoor options.

    A repeat visit to On the Rocks as we love the setting. A bit of a drive from Whitefish/Pine River but worth the trip for the setting and food. Walleye was excellent, Salmon very good. Good service from an excellent server
