On The Rocks - Grand View Lodge
Brenna was our server and she was friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful time!
Nice outdoor patio setting; live music was okay.
The Thai wraps were good but could have been a little more spicy
ON THE ROCKS is gorgeous outdoor dining. Fabulous ambiance. Fun atmosphere. Seafood quesedea was my favorite last year. Not on menu this season. I ordered fish and chips. The fries were just ok. Summer martini was very good. The setting is spectacular. Next time I'll try something different.
Wonderful outdoor setting with music and beautiful waterfalls and flowers and respectful staff all wore a mask when serving us which was very appreciated since we are seniors. We ate there 2 nights in a row.
We sat at the lower level with the waterfall right behind us. It was a beautiful night and our food was delicious. Grand View is working hard during this time of Covid to keep everyone safe. All employees wear masks and we did not have to go inside.
Beautiful atmosphere. Excellent service and food. Shrimp bahn mi was delicious. Margarita was way too sweet. Wish the waterfalls would have been on. Enjoyed our experience overall
Excellent option for lunch. The food was good and the cucumber drink was great. Staff was incredibly attentive and very pleasant. Would definitely recommend it.
Great food! I am gluten free and they were very courteous making sure I was taken care of, including subbing the bun for a gluten free one and a salad for the fries. The waterfalls weren’t running which would have made it even nicer.
Very happy with overall experience; lovely environment
We had a fabulous dinner listening to live music. The wine offerings were great and we really enjoyed the prime rib sandwich. It was very comfortable considering the outside temperature was 91 degrees when we were seated. The service was exceptional.
Very nice location with lovely views, for outdoor dining
On the Rocks has a beautiful setting, amazing food, and excellent wait staff! We will be back!
Great outdoor seating with lake view. Rachel, our server, was pleasant and timely. Our lunch food was tasty and filling. The drink menu provided refreshment on a beautiful summer day. Worth a return visit.
Beautiful summer atmosphere. Food and drink were great.
Great service. Reservations correct nice menu. I liked my app chicken but the soup of the day my guest had was less the good. No seafood, lacked flavor and visual appeal, looked like a poor excuse for clam chowder. She was disappointed. I’ll come back and try again because it is a delightful setting.
no manager on duty with the poor servers trying their best to handle an overbooked restaurant space. tables are not socially distanced with people joining others and crowding tables with too many chairs. be sure to eat before sundown if you don't want to eat in the dark.
We were not able to receive our full order until an hour and a half after we were seated.
We were at promptly then forgotten. Service remained challenged. Waited at least 20 minutes to get water. My chicken caesar salad was very good. They forgot chicken on the other salad. Disorganized and pricey.
The fried food was well-done. The fries were crispy and tastily seasoned. The cheese curds have a nice puffy batter and the dipping sauce is excellent. Fish and chips was just what we hoped it would be.
The salad was okay. Citrus fruit is not in season now, so it was a poor choice of salad topping. July is for berries! The creamy soup was starchy and bland.
The walleye sandwich was absolutely amazing! Perfectly breaded, not too heavy with the batter, and deliciously prepared. Got rained out so we had a bit of an adventure coming indoors to eat. Gracious staff.
We used to LOVE eating here, but we waited after ordering for 90+ minutes for barely mediocre food and paid $80+ for 4 for bar food. Then they messed up one of the orders. The food here used to be really good, but it was not during our visit. (Barely a step up from a fast food burger.) We debated between going here or to another restaurant off site, and really wish we would have gone to the one off site with so many other good restaurants in the area.
We appreciated the tables being spaced apart (during Covid), and the staff was wearing their masks. Our server was nice, and was as attentive as she could be, but all tables were waiting on food for an excessively long time...not sure what the hold up was, but really no apologies or compensation. I felt bad for the tables with young children, as those parents were trying to keep the kiddos occupied for a long time, and doing the best they could with the delayed situation. The server should have at least brought out something to snack on for the kids/families to tide them over until their food arrived because it truly was an excessively long wait, and the food was so disappointing. I seldom write a negative review, but hope they can get the quality back to the level it was during previous visits.
Great view!! Server was a very nice young lady, wish I remembered her name.
