   Just not at all a good experience. Food over cooked; service really poor and with lots of sighs from the waitress. She knew almost nothing about the food and drinks. Way overpriced valentine menu. Bill was wrong Never coming back

   Highly recommended!!! On The Bay (OTB) was recommended by our Airbnb host, a true foodie, who seems to know all THE BEST EATERIES in Barbados. We also checked them out on TripAdvisor and were very impressed by the reviews. OTB did NOT disappoint!! Definitely some of the best Bajan food on the island we have had. The soup of the day: well seasoned squash and vegetables was delicious as were the fish cakes - light and fluffy with actual fish :). For mains we had the blackened Mahi Mahi with herb roasted potatoes and the grilled Mahi Mahi cutter, both of which were delicious! So much so that we returned and had the same for lunch a few days later!! The restaurant itself, located in Yellow Bird Hotel (next to Cafe Sol), is gorgeous: feature wall and accent lighting are REALLY nice. It also has a lounge area on one side with super comfy cushions and overlooked the lighted pool on the other. OTB was definitely one of the highlights of our trip - delicious Bajan food in a gorgeous ambience at a great price!

   My wife and I decided to try out On The Bay since it’s one of the newer places in the Gap and we’ll definitely be back again! We got a table next to the pool and had a great view of the bay, which looked like it was right out of a movie with white sand and small fishing boats dotted in the water. The staff were very friendly, especially the bartender Akeem who took the time to chat with us a bit and made us feel extra welcomed. We both had rum punches and usually other places tend to make them too sweet but they were well balanced and still packed that PUNCH of rum! They came just in time too as the sun was setting over the bay. The food was tasty especially the macaroni pie, cucumber pickle, plantain and flying fish - and that bread pudding...it was SO GOOD...the rum sauce really made it sublime... The music wasn’t Bajan/tropical, which I thought was a bit odd considering the theme but it was still pleasant nonetheless, and there was sports playing on the TV which may appeal to some but it may have been nicer if it was showing something local/Caribbean to fit the Bajan theme. Finally, given the location and stylish decor the prices were reasonable. Overall we enjoyed our experience at On The Bay and will definitely be back!

   I was hoping "nothing" was an option under "What would you recommend this restaurant for?" The holiday price fixe menu was overpriced, the hostess was disorganized, the staff was rude, and the ambiance was disappointing. There was nothing picturesque about the bay after sunset. It was a dark body of water, with no lighting, and what the pictures don't show you is that the direct restaurant entrance is off a side street, such that none of the locals I met, nor my taxi driver, had even heard of the place. Then again, maybe that's the point -- they don't cater to anyone but the hotel guests. So if you're staying at the Yellow Bird, go for it. Otherwise, just go somewhere else.
