Omni Colonnade - Holiday Brunch
Yuk. This is over priced at $65 plus 25% gratuity. This is basically a marriage of Golden Coral and your cousins low budge wedding in a huge noisy ballroom. There was an assortment of meats such as turkey, ham and roast beef. There were also some sides such as mashed potatoes and dressing. If salad or frozen cheese cake is your thing you won’t be disappointed. Plenty of that. All of the breads and muffins were packaged products for sure. I had a cornbread muffin. It was cold at the middle. No thanks. Skip it. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
Our server was pleasant. He was working hard. We tipped him a little extra.
We have gone there for the last 5 years at Christmas. This year was a great disappointment at an extravagant price $161 for two!! Used to have a big desert area with a large selection, ate at 1230 but they moved the desert area to the outside and there were very few selections and mostly all gone with a long line trying to get something but they ran out and didnt refill. The food selection was very poor this year, a great disappointment. Must have new management, and cut back very much on what used to be a grand affair. People were openly complaining to each other on how changed it was. We dont plan to go back any more.
I was so very disappointed in this year's Christmas brunch. I made reservations over the phone with the Food Service manager for both Thanksgiving and Christmas brunches. I registered one elderly and one adult, but upon arrival for both brunches, I was being charged for two adults instead. The atmosphere was nice though the volume of voices was too high. Thanksgiving Brunch was so much better then Christmas. Our Christmas food was lukewarm and for the cost, not really worth it. We will not be returning to Omni Hotel in the future.
Food not worth the 65.00 base price, then they make u pay addtl 25% per person up front for tip for someone to bring tea (but sit with an empty glass). Its a buffet, u get your own food, most of which was cold. Desert selection was minimal.
Our server Stephanie was awesome. The entire event was fabulous, special thanks to chefs Oscar And Diego Ruiz
The added gratuity was unexpected even though I understand that those who work on a holiday should expect to receive something extra but the staff taking payments was frankly rude. I am usually very pleased with Omni services.
Maria, Nena, crescencio were the best!!!
We have been going to the Thanksgiving dinner as a family for the last five years. We have enjoyed it very much.
Thanksgiving banquet. Absolutely fantabulous!!! Wonderful
My family & I first dined at Omni Colonnade - Grand Ballroom in 2018 for both their Thanksgiving Day Buffet & Christmas Day Buffet & we had a wonderful meal! But this year, 2019, we booked our Thanksgiving Day Buffet & were greatly disappointed. Booking online on OpenTable was convenient & simplified the reservation experience. Checking in when we arrived at the restaurant was easy, & we didn't wait long. The food, which for us was obviously the most important part - was a letdown this year. The restaurant does provide an online menu with a list of all the food & dessert items that will be served for the holiday buffet. I will mention that I did think the menu seemed a little bare compared to last year but I gave the benefit of the doubt and that's probably where I went wrong. There was the expected turkey and sides, along with some chilled seafood - cocktail shrimp and ceviche, but overall the selection really seemed to have been narrowed down compared to last year. No smoked salmon, which was served at Thanksgiving last year. The items displayed also seemed to be less in quality as well, items such as pizza & paninis. My family who had joined us last year all made mention that there appeared to be less items & that the quality & selection just wasn't what we expected for $65 per person. A major disappointment was the desserts. Our seating time was 12:30, with the last seating for the day at 2:30 so we by no means arrived at the end of the day. The desserts on display were just generally sad looking. It was Thanksgiving and they had run out of pumpkin pie and were only putting out still slightly frozen pumpkin cheesecake. Service was excellent, but since the meal is buffet style and self-serve the waiter's responsibility was serving drinks and removing used plates from our table. He did keep our drinks filled - which were mimosas and coffee (all included in the set price). This had become our go-to for holiday meal buffets, but we won't return next year.
It was good. Not really much decoration for thanksgiving and 80 a person. But the food and service was god. We enjoyed ourselves.
Yes I would have recommended to family and friends.
Came for their Thanksgiving lunch buffet and was a little disappointed. My family and had been before in 2017 and were very impressed so decided to rebook in 2019. The selection of food had diminished overall. For $75 a person they had cutback on offerings from our previous experience. And the carving station had a long line that I didn’t remember. Most of the food was good and the service was excellent. The ribeye roast was excellent. The desserts had also cut back and when we went they were out of pumpkin pie and were putting out pumpkin cheesecake that was still frozen. Half of our party of 8 left without dessert. Overall it wasn’t the worst but for the price we were a little let down.
the service was excellent by the whole staff. My only complaint is the line was long for the serving of turkey and ribeye, should have more than one carving station to cut down on waiting time causing food sides to get cold.
Overall the dining experience was good, however I thought that imposing a 24% gratuity/service charge was inappropriate and very tacky, especially when the service wasn't very good.
This was the nicest thanksgiving meal that we could have ever expected. Food was delicious, the service was divine and the piano music was superb
Had lovely T-day brunch with family. This was our 3rd or 4th year for T-day brunch at Omni. Food was mostly good except for the giblet gravy. Giblets are dog food and most people do not care for them. Just because it the sounds "traditional" to have "giblet gravy" it's quite terrible to bite down on one of those nasty pieces. Further, giblets ruin the taste of what might have been good gravy. I tasted a bit of the gravy to see if it was edible, and it was not. If you insist on serving giblet gravy, then the least you could do would be to also provide non-giblet gravy. I love gravy on my turkey and dressing, but there was none that was edible.
