I want to love this place so much. It’s beautiful inside and out. The covered outdoor bar with hightop seating feels like a world away from the steel and glass surroundings of Capital One and the drinks are delicious. But food is average at best and service is slow as molasses. I could put up with that if it wasn’t for the ridiculous prices and exorbitant “upgrades”.

Most dishes we ordered were deep fried and tasted like they had been sitting and refried. Deep fried Shrimp with bacon tasted burnt. Service was horrible. It was a slow Sunday night but still the food took forever. Waitress seemed very rushed and was sliding food across the table instead of coming around. Very poor experience. Will not visit again.

Sad I didnt get our bartenders name, but he was very helpful answering the many questions I had regarding our drinks and food. Our first time here, he was very attentive and offered great suggestions. I loved the pineapple jalapeno margarita and enjoyed our tacos and fajitas as well! Decor was super cute and location great proximity for what we were in the area for. Will be back.

The service is outstanding at Ometeo. From the server to expediter, manager, and even a nice lady who offered to take our plates and our picture! The chicken enchiladas were a very small portion- 3 small rollups. My hubs had that for his entree and ended up sharing my chicken fajitas. We did start with the octopus tostada and it was slightly spicy and very good. The food overall was average TexMex, but the people watching, ambiance, and overall vibes were excellent!

From scratch cocktails were all pretty terrific. The shrimp ceviche and cauliflower with mole were really good as well. The blue corn tortilla quesadilla with the chicken tinga is a MUST have, however. Holy smokes was that great, and a really good sized portion. Our negatives were that it was very loud (it was peak hours on a Saturday, so understood) and our waiter put in all of our orders at once, drinks, appetizers and mains, so everything arrived at the same time, which filled the table and was a tad frustrating. This may not be an issue for others, and it wasn't that big of a deal, but we'll place our orders in two batches next time. ;) Every dish pretty much has some level of heat to it, so for those who are super sensitive to spice, will probably be limited in their choices. The quesadilla above would be perfect, and the cauliflower as well would work. (Mole was tasty).

It was our anniversary and we had not tried Ometeo, but had heard great things from other friends. Great choices overall and speedy friendly service, but slightly overpriced, and in return we didn’t get anything special for celebrating our anniversary with them.

Food was very good, but it took two hours to get two appetizers, four entrees, four drinks, and one dessert to go for four people. The restaurant is beautiful, but also loud.
