   Had a lovely counter top experience watching our food being cooked over flaming embers. Delicious food and very attentive and friendly staff! Highly recommend the gnocchi and salt baked fish.

   Very unique food, creative and delicious. We went mid week so it was quiet as can be. As good as this place was, we were surprised it was so quiet. If you are looking for a place that isn’t the usual Milanese food, this place is worth a try. Probably our favorite meal of the trip! The gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had.

   Che bell’esperienza! Capitiamo un po’ per caso, attratti dalla cucina con la brace. Già l’accoglienza fa capire una cura per il cliente che ti fa sentire ben voluto, per poi passare al menù che ti mette non poco in difficoltà … perché ci sono così tante cose sfiziose che non sai da dove cominciare. Prendiamo un antipasto di focaccia, pecorino e nduja e un galletto cotto al mattone: da leccarsi i baffi! Inoltre inaspettatamente ci è stato offerto un finger food di fichi con caprino, visto che in fase di ordinazione avevo espresso la mia indecisione per quel piatto col galletto. Che dire, coccolati in ogni aspetto. Poi passiamo ai main a base di pesce, un’orata in crosta di sale e un polpo alla brace, cottura perfetta e gusto eccellente: deliziosi! Il tutto innaffiato da un’ottima Ribolla Gialla. Super consigliato, dobbiamo sicuramente ritornare, non fosse altro per la gentilezza di tutti quanti!

    Cibo buono, molto gentili nel servizio, ambiente pessimo. Si mangia sui tavoli senza nemmeno una tovaglietta di carta (igiene zero); Forte puzza di grigliato (pesce in particolare) e ambientazione che poco riflette il livello del cibo. L'illuminazione è orribile (da rifare con urgenza).

    Da consigliare sia per una serata tra amici che in coppia. Atmosfera rilassata e allegra, vino e cibo ottimi (soprattutto la tagliata di tonno e il polipo con salsa di ceci) e servizio impeccabile. Piatti diversi e originali. Abbiamo passato una bellissima serata tra colleghi e ci torneremo di sicuro appena possibile.

    I came across this restaurant whilst on holiday for my birthday. The owners were so lovely and sweet, the food was delicious. It was a cosy, intimate space. I’ll definitely be returning!

    Incuriosito dalle foto ho prenotato ed ne sono uscito super entusiasta. Ho cenato al banco chef...e le cotture sono davvero pazzesche, tutto è cucinato al camino e al forno a legna. Ho mangiato dei vizietti di cui il midollo è superlativo, a seguire un riso al salto con ossobuco bello a vedersi e saporitissimo, e per finire un cannolo la cui cialda è cotta al forno a legna. Servizio informale ma gentile ed attento. Ottima scoperta, ci tornerò non appena ritorno a Milano. Consigliatissimo

    The write up for the restaurant says that it is a grill and this suggests steaks and hamburgers. This is very misleading. It is true that all food served is grilled on an open fire, but the food is quite original. The menu is nicely structured: you could order small portions, like in a tapas bar, or go for a large plate. The place is quiet and the service is fast and friendly. The bar tender is the owner of the place and the waiter is his friend. This ensures attentive service. They lived in London for ten years and their English is very good. We found all these by chatting with the waiter.

    Great service, fantastic food, staff was very friendly .it is really a great place to experience open fire cooking. The staff are really great. The list is not big but they do everything very well. I found it a great experience

    My family and I had only one night in Milan, and we were so fortunate to find Ombra. This is a rare gem of a restaurant that is both understated and yet sophisticated at the same time with owner and Chef Luigi in front of the wood burning grill and oven creating his own type of magic with Italian dishes with a twist, favouring what is in season. The appetizers are delicious to start, not too big so you can enjoy a delicious main course. Try the pork belly and octopus ball to start, for the main course we really enjoyed the steak, veal and grilled octopus. Service was superb with Luigi taking care of us (yes, there are two Luigi’s here) both friends who worked in London prior to returning home. Let Luigi suggest a wine, you won’t be disappointed. We were extremely happy with our experience at Ombra for our one night in Milan, we highly recommend it.

    Ottima serata! Incuriositi dal manú prenotiamo con alcuni amici e devo ammettere che le nostre aspettative sono state ampiamente superate! Serata uggiosa, entriamo in questo locale dove ad accoglierci, otre ai ragazzi dello staff, c’è uno splendido fuoco a vista che rende l’ atmosfera molto suggestiva! Menú scelto con attenzione dai sapori davvero interessanti. Gamberoni serviti con il carbone ..originale! esplosione sia visiva che di gusto così come il polipo e le cozze in umido..qualità rara da trovare ad un prezzo davvero onesto. Bravi! Ritorneremo

    Very tasty and creative cuisine. Nice and kind service. Quiet atmosphere good for both romantic or business talks. Make sure to try all starters and feel free to trust waiter's wine recommendation.

    Very nice and warm atmosphere. The “show kitchen”, cooking with fire helps to have a suggestive location. Excellent food made from premium quality and fresh ingredients. The Service is quick and efficient. Very interesting also the story of the Chef and the Restaurant Manager. Both Italians, after many years spent in London in one of the most important Italian restaurant there, they decided to move back to italy, bringing their important experience in Milan. You can perceive their cooking passion and professionalism. I will definitely go again.
