Omakaseed brings experiential dining and a unique flair for service to a vastly underserved market within the plant-based community. With a focus on Japanese-inspired vegan omakase, Omakaseed seeks to continue the mission of the team behind Sushi By Bou We focus on natural, minimally processed ingredients, highlighting seasonal and local produce. Omakaseed puts an emphasis on conscious cuisine and expanding the palettes of all who join us, vegan or not.

60-minute, 15 Course Vegan Omakase is $65++ per person. Beverages may be purchased at an additional cost. Please arrive a few minutes early.

Omakaseed 24-hour Cancellation Policy: A 50% per person fee will apply to cancellations and no-shows for reservations made within 24 hours of reservation time. Parties who arrive more than 10 minutes late can not be accommodated and will be subject to the no-show fee. Text 347-997-1615 to cancel your reservation within 24 hours of the reserved time. The restaurant was closed. There is no expected reopening date. Reservations are still being accepted seemingly due to sheer incompetence. Be warned.

Food was amazing. Very surprised vegan sushi could be this good. Unfortunately the atmosphere is terrible- it makes it look very cheap. They really need to redesign the place.

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish!! We were running late due to transit delays and our hostess called to check in about the reservation then flagged us down outside when we got turned around. The chef was so informative and we really enjoyed learning about each dish. The courses were all outstanding! I cannot recommend this place enough!

really fun and creative experience. It was more like 1.5h than 1h due to a long wait to be seated. A non-alcoholic drinks menu would be wonderful -- choices beyond mocktails, like tea or soda beverages or other ideas would be lovely. However if you like cocktails and/or sake this is a great selection. Food was creative, delicious and really fun to eat -- for a plant-based menu it was a bit low in protein and fat so we were hungry again soon after. If I came again I'd be sure I had eaten well all day, it's a wonderful culinary experience and worth trying again.

I saw this place on instagram & decided to try it out for a birthday spot while traveling up here this weekend! I enjoyed mostly all of the food & the cocktail (Feel the beet) was great and refreshing. My only qualm is I was charged for my birthday dessert we did not ask for, it was offered to us. We were so ready to go at that point once we realized that we had been charged but just paid & left. I felt like the host was scrambling to be attentive to all parties & I wish there was someone else to assist him because be was great! I would recommend this place but maybe don’t say anything about a special event.

Food and service were outstanding. There were, however, 2 aspects of the experience that we were quite disappointed with. 1) we arrived exactly on time for our reservation. We were seated right away and the first thing we were told was “we have 45 minutes to get this done”. Get this done? It’s a $65 per person tasting experience on a Saturday night in NYC. We all felt that there was a rush on the restaurants part to get us fed and out. The chef looked at his watch multiple times throughout the dinner. We all felt they should allow 90 minutes at minimum for the experience. 2) out of 6 guests, 4 were men and they all left hungry. We had to stop and pick up a pizza for them afterwards. Understanding this is a tasting menu, after 15 courses and $65 a person, no one should be hungry. No need to be stuffed and over filled but leaving hungry is definitely not expected. After the 14th tasting the chef was going to offer us the ability to order more food, which we would have done, but then he looked at his watch and said there wasn’t enough time. Overall we enjoyed it but we wouldn’t go back for the tasting menu again.

A bit underwhelmed. Food was good, some pieces way better than others. Ambience was interesting, it felt like we were in someone's basement turned restaurant with funky art and reggaeton music playing.

The food was wonderful! Loved exploring the rich flavors in all the dishes. Did need a little more time to eat, They accommodated our reservations wonderfully but the experience of actually eating felt rushed. I needed a few extra minutes between each dish! They were crafted beautifully. I recommend eating here!

A unique and amazing experience. The chefs are really meticulous and creative on developing mouth watering creations that I have never had. From the roasted eggplant made in front of you to the avocado with truffle creation to the leveling up of pineapple to the use of mushrooms in so many wonderful ways. Not everything landed perfectly for me but everything was a creation I wanted to try. Congrats to the chef and I highly recommend everyone explores the creations at Omakaseed.

Food was awesome! My girlfriend and I came in with fairly low expectations after our last high end vegan experience, but this place completely shattered those expectations. Only but is that the place is shared with 3 other restaurants which adds to the noise and takes away from the ambiance.

It's within Plant Bar, which is a little strange, but it works...you sit at the bar and its an hour of really terrific vegan omokase. Highly recommend.

Anyone who wants to go on a fun food adventure centered around plants, fruits and mushrooms will enjoy this! I love sushi and omakase but the environmental damage and expense are hard to reckon with...this is a fun alternative. Plus, they made a delightful vegan mochi ice cream plate for my birthday. Very highly recommended!

Fun concept and experience for those of us who do not eat fish. However, the timing was indeed very tight (one hour seating - we were fully aware of this) and I thought each item could have been a bit more different (lots of soy and wasabi on everything).

The experience was outstanding! The food was amazing as well. We were Kate for our reservation and to not miss out on the experience our server scheduled us for another hour same day. It was worth the wait!!!!! All staff was professional and provided great service. Most importantly my best friend whose birthday we were celebrating that day was satisfied and full! Will definitely be going again!

The food was amazing and delicious, the chef was so kind in explaining every course but we had reservations at nine and we were rushed through the whole experience. We were rushed and finished 15 courses in forty minutes… felt as if we needed to leave and that unfortunately made the experience… not excellent. Also, very overpriced for the whole experience

Omakaseed was the perfect vegan Japanese experience. The chefs kept the courses coming and each one was a flavor explosion! My favorites were the smoked pineapple nigiri, smoked eggplant nigiri and the tomato nigiri! Glad we found an amazing restaurant for our special occasion dinners. Outstanding!!! I went their for the first time, Thursday night. I’ve tried Kajitsu and Shojin (LA) and this place blew those restaurants out of the water. The omkase was fantastic!

The staff was knowledgeable and personable. We had a good conversation and a couple jokes with each staff member, they were very inviting and friendly. The food was absolutely phenomenal! I was trying to think of elevated vocabulary to properly describe to them how much my taste buds were enjoying their creations. Highly recommend to everyone!

It was great to find a vegan restaurant in midtown but the music was WAY too loud. My server even asked the owner to turn it down and he just looked away.

Went for a birthday dinner with a friend. The chef and waiter were so sweet! Every item we had was so tasty and unique. Had a great time and would definitely recommend to any vegetarians interested in an omakase experience.
