Omakai Sushi is nestled in the historic downtown San Jose, one block away from the art walk. The restaurant includes a spacious cocktail bar, sushi bar where you can have an amazing Omakase experience , and an outdoor patio area by the fountain. Open for lunch & dinner, starting at 3:00 pm until 11:00pm.     Chef Michel, a true artisan with an evident passion for his craft, guided us through a seamless progression of exquisite dishes. The pacing was impeccable – never rushed, allowing us to truly savor every nuanced flavor and appreciate his artistry. The highlights were numerous and unforgettable. This was easily the best sushi and Omakase experience for both my husband and me. Highly recommend.

    Another great resturant in San Jose Del Cabo. This was our last night on a month long trip. Sad to go but we will be back. Food was excellent, service was better. Nice, clean modern look. Upscale yet relaxed feel. Another extra nod to service, really well done.

    Excelente atención, muy buen servicio. Espacio acogedor con buena música ambiental, sin tanto ruido, puedes conversar muy bien. La comida deliciosa el tiempo de espera vale la pena.

    The food was amazing, some of the best fish and sushi we've had. And the ambiance is 10/10. The food took forever though - it was 2-2.5 hours for appetizers and entrees even though the restaurant was not very busy. We enjoyed our experience overall but prepared to wait a bit for your food!

    This is where I went for my birthday dinner. Quality was top notch and having your own private chef was amazing. Thanks to Saul for making the night amazing. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Cabo.

    Tucked just off the Art Walk, Omakai delivered one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Baja. The omakase tasting menu was perfectly curated—each course thoughtfully paced and beautifully executed, with a clear respect for seasonality and technique. From seared salmon with truffle to melt-in-your-mouth nigiri, every bite was dialed in. Service was warm, attentive, and intuitive without ever being overbearing. The drink program held its own, with a great mix of cocktails and sake options that elevated the experience. The atmosphere struck that sweet spot: modern, minimalist, and intimate, without trying too hard. Omakai isn’t just a sushi restaurant—it’s an experience. Easily a top recommendation if you’re anywhere near San José del Cabo. Very much Michelin worthy - hopefully one day we see Omakai receive their star!

    Hola , para ser un restaurante con sello Michelin , no puede ser que muchos de los platillos no estén. disponibles , y sobre todo que no tenga ningún postre disponible .

    I had wanted to change our reservation from the standard terrace to Teppanyaki. I went onto OpenTable and clicked modify to find that all cancellations and modifications must be made by phone. I called the number on OpenTable, which is also on their Facebook page, only to find that it has been suspended. I called three times over two days. We arrived at Omakai and I asked if we could change to Teppanyaki. The manager said that the change had to be done 24 hours in advance. She said it can be done on OpenTable. I explained that it couldn't and that it had to be done by phone. However, their number was suspended. She could not have cared less and was quite rude. My wife said that if we had not brought guests that we would have left right there. As the former owner of two restaurants, I am very surprised that a Michelin Bibs recommended restaurant would behave in this fashion. The food and service were fine but the experience had already been ruined.
