Fantastic Afternoon Tea in the Fairmont lobby. This hotel is absolutely beautiful and was a superb experience. The area for tea was comfortable and offered privacy in between groups. I opted for the 1907 tea which was fantastic. As far as the food goes, everything paired well with the tea and was fresh, flavorful, and tasty. As for the service, it was the best. The servers were polite and helpful. They explained everything and made the service seamless. Will be back!

Afternoon tea is now served in the lobby of the hotel -it was dark and sweltering where we were seated. We sat on a sofa and had to lean over a coffee table for our food which was not the most comfortable. My biggest complaint was that the food was ok - not outstanding and not a value for the price. I was very unhappy that they offered us champagne, and when the bill came, it was $35 for one small flute of champagne. All in all, tea for two people with one flute of champagne and one cocktail after tip and tax was $260. That seemed exorbitant for the experience that we had. I waited almost 30 minutes for the cocktail as they told me that the bar was backed up and that I could have a glass of champagne while I waited (whew, thank goodness I did not, or my bill would have been $35 more!).

The food and tea was delicious but you don’t get a lot for what you pay. Quite expensive for a few finger foods and tea.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. This is an experience that you pay for. Bone China, finely polished silver, and courteous, gracious service. Not all of the bites were something to write home about but if you’re wanting to do afternoon tea in an elegant setting, then this is it.

I found the noise level more than energetic, it was too loud for quiet conversation. The space for food to be placed was crowded and too small. This was not the tea experience I had hoped for to celebrate a 50th and 16th birthday.

I truly enjoyed my afternoon tea in Fairmont. However the waitress needs to be better trained. After enjoying the experience, we walked out of the bookshelves area and one of our waitresses asked us whether we had paid or not. I was very disappointed to hear that as this is very offensive. The great experience ended the moment she asked this question. Not to mention I paid 75 bucks per person plus tips. If she paid more attention to our table she wouldn’t ask this disrespectful question.

The tea was wonderful but we thought maybe the parking should have been included. When all is said and done you are spending over $220 dollars for the hour or so that you spend there. I think it’s affordable for only a certain percentage of people. I would take advantage of it only for a very special occasion and I think that is the intent of the hotel.

My husband and I had Afternoon Tea in the lobby’s library room, which was very cozy. The food was pleasantly presented, quite tasty, and in ample portions. The service was professional yet friendly and unobtrusive—just the way we like it. It was a lovely and sophisticated experience.

Overall experience was ok. Our servers were very nice and prompt. They also made sure that we were only served vegetarian options as we requested. Check in was bit ridiculous because nobody seemed to know where it was. I first went to the reception and was told to check in at the bar in the lobby. Went to the bar and they told me to check in the "George". Also, there was no accessibility for a stroller to move around. There were two small sets of 3-4 step stairs in order to get to the room we were seated in and we were told to just lift the stroller on stairs.. That was quiet inconvenient! We were tucked away in a small room with books around and there were three other parties and we felt it was bit too tight and warm in there with not much ventilation. Food was just okay and nothing out of the ordinary. Paying $75 for 3 adults and $40 for 1 kid for just one tea each and few snacks was bit too much.

I have to be honest this isn't worth the money. The service was very slow. We had to ask for things multiple times. The menu on-line does not match what you get. The sandwiches we received were very tasty but it's a pretty small quantity. And the real surprise, we were charged $35 per glass for champagne. I thought I'd ordered a bottle through our reservation (open table specifically asks you if you'd like to order a bottle.) I was absolutely shocked when I got the bill to see we were changed per glass.

Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Just 2 waiters handling over 25 people. Slow service. Tea leaf is only 1-time. No refills. Terribly small 1-feet round table. No water service. No welcome drink. Recommend to set the last limited time like 1.5 hour. Otherwise 10 ladies staying over 2-3 hours. Thanks

I've been to many places for afternoon tea and sadly this was one of the most disappointing. I enjoyed the location and the food was good (but not amazing). Their menu was incorrect - it stated on the menu that lemon creme fraiche would be served but they only had whipped cream available. They did not tell us this, we just discovered it when we started eating. Service was very slow and the wait staff was not attentive. We were not offered a refill on scones or sandwiches, which is common in many other places. It was not worth the price we paid.

I will definitely do this again! The ambiance and service was great. It was not overly loud. There was a wedding that was getting ready to start while we were leaving, but the noise level didn't interfere with our tea. We didn't feel rushed that we had to leave. The tea and food was timed really well, so we weren't rushed to eat/leave.

We recently had afternoon tea here and was informed we were sitting in the lobby, which wasn’t ideal. Buttering scones whilst sitting on a couch wasn’t super easy or comfortable especially if you’re dressed up and wearing heels. One of our two servers was excellent (Jorge), but the other server wasn’t that nice. The food was a bit lackluster (desserts and scones especially nothing to write home about) and portions were small. When we politely inquired whether we could have an extra sandwich, we were told by our not-as-polite server that it would incur an additional charge, which—when you’re paying $75 pp—is truly ridiculous. Also, the tea wasn’t exceptional and was served without sweetener or cream, which we had to request separately. The tea also got very bitter and dark because the tea leaves were just left in the pot. Parking at the nearby garage is not validated, so expect to pay an additional charge for that privilege. All in all, I have had lots of afternoon tea in London, Sydney, British Columbia, and NYC, and the experience here pales in comparison. Would recommend the afternoon tea at Fog Rose Atelier in Bellevue over this any day.

The hostess was very curt and abrupt with us. It took 20 minutes for our server to come to the table, but only after saying something to the hostess who appeared to be annoyed that we were complaining. Tea got bitter quickly because they just let the tea leaves sit the whole time. FYI you’re supposed to take tea leaves out after they’re done steeping. Food was average.

Celebrating a friend’s graduation, we had a lovely tea. I was surprised by the mid-lobby location of the tea. It felt very.. open where anyone coming into the George could see. At the same time, the interior is the Fairmont is lovely. There were side rooms to the area, it would have been lovely to have a cozy lunch out of the main footpath. Other than that, everything was great. Wonderful service, delicious food, and the tea was flavorful.

Sorry to do this , but being honest . Afternoon tea at the fairmont was like having tea some where between a hallway and a locker room Sitting in the front lobby is a total mood kill. Its like a cocktail/meeting place. People coming and going in sweatshirts and sweat pants is not how you think of " High Tea" Food and tea were just OK.....nothing special For any afternoon tea in England , this would be expensive, for what it was , it was crazy...tea service , tip & parking = $240.00 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND !

Really disappointed with the scones! This is a staple for high tea. The scones were barely a bite each and each person was allocated two. The sandwiches were ok and the sweets were also lacking. Not worth the $75+ price tag. And it’s nicer in the Georgian room.

I was disappointed in the quality of the experience that I know is high at the Fairmont for Afternoon Tea. I have been once before in 2019 and had a wonderful experience, with creative, tasty, delightful pastries and sandwiches and a wide selection of teas. We were also seated in the ballroom at the time. I just went there to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and was disappointed in the ambiance (we were seated in the lounge/bar area), the lackluster quality of the food (tasted like it came out of a Hostess box), but the service was good. It was the high standard that I know the Fairmont is known for, and in that regard, I was disappointed in it.

For the price charged for afternoon tea which is $75 per person, the food was very disappointing. Not a lot of selections and not very good quality compared to other Fairmont hotel afternoon tea. The seat at the lobby where we have our afternoon tea was very low and uncomfortable and the ambiance was okay, nothing to be amazed by or happy with. The only good side to this afternoon tea was our server Jorge which provided excellent customer service during our tea time but everything else is 1 star barely 2 star.
