Olympia’s menu sets out to feature the honest beauty of seafood without over-manipulating it or masking its flavors. The result is a voyage into vibrant colors, fragrant spices, fresh and crisp flavor combinations. Not your typical oyster bar!

The oysters were so amazing and the waiters wine suggestion was spot on!
the oysters, ceviche, and and special tuna appetizer were all really good...... the wine also was perfect..... oysters compared favorably with ones we've had straight out of the sea on whisky island
The orange wine was a fabulous recommendation!! We loved everything!
First time there for our friends and they love it as much as we do. A fresh menu from our last visit, without our favorite shredded phyllo covered baked oyster but other good options. Always a great selection of fresh oyster varieties, wine selections and cocktails.
The food was not bad, but the place was highly pretentious for such a mediocre establishment. The prices were absurdly inflated -- the bottle of wine highly recommended by the staff was priced to $45 and retails for $19.99. Oysters were $3 apiece. The pretense to greatness was exaggerated and laughable.
Good selection of oysters!
Great little seafood place on N Mississippi. The soup was next-level.
Top notch experience! Of course the oysters were fresh but the accoutrements were also fantastic- especially the marinated olives, smoked goat butter and artisan bread. We will definitely be back!!
Went for Portland Dining Month. Food was great - the oysters were delicious. The communal rockfish cerviche was unexpected (3 of us got one big bowl to share) but in the end it turned out to drive discussion and enjoy our food at a different level. We decided people all around the world use community plates and family style. It was great.
Hella fresh oysters, great wine list, and friendly service. The clams in broth were delicious, and the bread and goat butter was a fine accompaniment.
My hubs and I were SO disappointed- we would have left one star if it weren't for the fact that their oysters were legitimately delicious. However, the service was rushed, the ambiance was cramped, and the rest of the food was actually borderline awful. We went for PDX dining month and got an additional dozen oysters- they shorted us two. Then the rockfish ceviche came out and it was palatable, but so heavy on the lime and avocado that you couldn't taste the fish. Last were the clams, and they were inedible. The broth was greasy and the clams themselves were overcooked. Unless you have a serious hankering for oysters, I would absolutely avoid this place. Not worth the time or money.
The SERVER acted so inconvenienced by us being there. She was not genuinely friendly, but barely hospitable, as if we were putting her out by enjoying our first night out in months...not to mention tipping above 20%. We did so because we have 3 decades between us from the hospitality industry and we know it's hard work. I'll come back for the food because the oysters are amazing. But I will ask for another SERVER if she's working that night.
The food was excellent and our server was informative very knowledgeable and delightful. Can’t recall her name but originally from Louisiana. Match dining month brought us in for our virgin experience. We will definitely be back
We weren’t overly impressed with the menu for Portland Dining Month. The food was okay. Thank
The staff was great. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was very comfortable. We had a great experience.
This was easily our best meal while in Portland - everything was screaming fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. We really appreciated the kind servers, great suggestions and delicious cocktails. This is a great value for your money and if you love seafood or wine bars you will not leave disappointed!
food is overprice we have a crab soup for $23 that was cold and had only little pieces of crab, they charge $7 for bread,if you see picture clams an mussles look big but you get clams smaller than a dime ,Pisco sour for $13 made with mezcal ????.never coming back again.
Excellent food and drinks. Fantastic oyster choices and presentation.
Some terrific small plates - carrot salad, clams and mussels, etc.
Terrific and friendly service.
Cool vibe overall
Excellent food and service. Special thanks to Carle for her professionalism and pleasant demeanor for making our dinner so memorable
I've been here twice and they really do have the best oysters around.
Best oysters hands down bar none. Can’t wau to return. Service was outstanding our server knew the menu and was perfect
We went for Christmas Eve dinner and the food and service were excellent! Yummy housemade tamales and I highly recommend the seafood “platter”, definitely high end food.
Wonderfully done seafood. Oysters for days! Yum!!!
Best oyster bar we've ever been too! Creative twists and amazing flavors on various raw and cooked oysters and other fish dishes. Worth fighting the traffic for one hour to get there!
We had the oyster raw and steamed service which also had mussels, head on prawns, a chip dip and radishes to quench the palette. Very very good! A little pricey but great service and ambiance
Delicious oysters. Quickly shucked. Our waiter/server was on the ball!
We had the best meal in recent memory and absolutely the mostly wonderful service. Caitlyn is awesome. The food was just delightful - it bears repeating. Favorite restaurant in Portland by far!
Absolutely delicious! We tried a variety of oysters, ceviche, shrimp tostadas, clams and mussels. Would definitely eat here again.
I always eat here when I fly in from the East Coast. One of the best oyster bars in the USA. Great selection of oysters and wine. Truly one of a kind spot with friendly, knowledgeable and fun staff.
This is a great place if you go with the mindset you will have high priced and delicious oysters on the half shell. They had a great selection and they were fresh. We ordered shrimp and a "bucket" of clams and mussels. They were ok but the bucket was half full nowhere near the size of what you would think of as a traditional bucket. There were three of us we had 3 glasses of wine. The bill was over $160 and my 89 year old mother went home and made a salad.
Great food. great staff. Selection of wine and rum pairings are the perfect complements to the oysters.
Good food with reasonable proce
Very accommodating for our group. Yummy food!
Would certainly not recommend. If you want a sarcastic condescending attitude then go here. Our waitress was aweful. Can’t imagine they will be in business long.
Cheviche had too much lime
Oysters were full of shell. Could not even eat them without picking shell out if your mouth. Should have taken a picture. It was pathetic to say the least.
I took my husband for a date night and had the best time. Our server was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! The dressed oysters and mussels/clams in broth were SO GOOD.
Oysters are amazing. Be warned if you are a larger size person, their chairs are quite narrow.
My wife and I loved this place. The oysters were great both raw or creatively cooked with Mexican themes.
Server and beverage coordinator (if that's a proper term?) were both knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the food and drink and the restaurant. What a treat. The white wine and raw cane rum flights were exceptionally good and paired perfectly with the meal.
Tuesday's have raw oysters at a big discount hence the 5 star for value. Otherwise maybe a 4, but completely reasonable for what you get regardless. We will be back.
Staying in Portland area for several weeks and this restaurant received excellent fresh oyster reviews. Tasting menu was very pricey but very fresh and good. Oysters, mussels, clams served in very creative and tasty ways. A unique and delicious splurge!
Ran out of most oysters on oyster night by 7:30 pm
Olympia Oyster Bar always has a great selection of Oysters. My husband loves oysters , I can eat just a certain amount then I'm done so their side dishes are really really good. I love their specials especially their salads choice. Their selections of wines and bubbly match well with the oysters.
Great place for a late lunch!
