Join us Saturdays and Sundays for Tapas Brunch Buffet from 10:30 AM-2:20 PM!
AYCE brunch was okay. Not all options on the menu were available. Turnover of hot food was not as often as I’d like so some stuff would sit out for a while. The meat did not have a ton of flavor. For the price, it’s a decent deal for the sheer number of options but quality didn’t necessarily match quantity.
We came here for brunch to celebrate my friend’s engagement. I made reservations and was running late so I was worried that we might get cancelled. Good thing the place was not busy so we were seated right away. I like the atmosphere, very friendly/welcoming. We were greeted by everyone as soon as we walked in. We did the brunch buffet and almost everything was delicious! I liked the breakfast paella and beef brisket not so much the sardines. One of the chefs was behind the counter and he was able to explain/answer food queries which I appreciate. I would definitely be back!
Had several small plates which were delicious. Ate outside on a beautiful night. Hostess and servers were very pleasant. Would eat there again.
Delicious flavors. The Octopus, calamari and garlic shrimp were perfectly grilled and had just enough heat. Definitely coming back
Incredible food! Can’t wait to go back and try some more great tapas!
Great tapas brunch!
Still think Oloroso has the best octopus dish in the city! First time trying the paella, and it was delicious.
Wonderfully inventive tapas, excellent, accommodating, and well-informed service. We had a great conversation with the chef/owner, Townsend. Would return in a heartbeat! One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time! Pulpo Oloroso and the charred eggplant were standouts.
I attended the Sunday morning buffet. Loved every mouthful. Will definitely return.
All of our food was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented! This was our second time there and it will NOT be our last.
We went for a birthday dinner before a show. They sat us with special menus reading "happy birthday!" on the top. The tasting menu was fantastic. Their bread was amazing. The charred eggplant was incredible. And all of the plates provided a fantastic experience. Service was great and friendly. We did not feel rushed nor were we pressed for time to make our show. We will definitely be back!
I booked this based on a wonderful dinner experience a month ago, and seeing some of the same dinner items I enjoyed so much on the brunch menu on their website. When I got their with my boyfriend and his father, I was surprised to learn that they were serving a brunch buffet instead of the menu online. The buffet food was good, but as with any buffet, you can tell which dishes had been sitting out for longer. I implore the staff to correct the information on their website ASAP.
I usually do not write yelp reviews but food at Oloroso was Amazing and staff was very pleasant! Looking forward to going back and trying more things on the menu.
The paella and octopus were absolutely delicious!!! The chef's choices were great. Our server was pleasant and her feedback to our questions was on point. My husband did not have one complaint which is very rare! We will definitely recommend to our friends and family!!! A return visit is coming soon!
Delicious food and great service. Everything was perfect. Helpful in ordering the appropriate amount of food
Been here quite a few times. Best Tapas in the city. Great service every time. Great for any occasion. Thanks Oloroso.
Best octopus and paella I’ve ever had. We had the tasting menu. All the food was delicious
Feeling adventurous, we selected the tasting menu and were so glad that we did! Every bite brought its own burst of flavor, and we were delightfully amazed each time we tasted a new dish. The octopus was incredibly tender, and the eggplant was incredible. I asked the chef to recommend a wine pairing, and the red he selected was perfectly suited to the food we enjoyed.
Great food and atmosphere
Paella was awesome!
What a find! An outstanding new restaurant and the weekend brunch buffet is a real treat overflowing with delicious food items.
My friend and I ate a pre-theater lunch t Oloroso (it's right across Walnut Street from The Forrest Theater) on a beautiful summer day. We ate outside. They feature an all you can eat buffet for lunch/brunch on the weekends. Food was delicious. Got to try many new things. Service was great. We were not rushed. We will gladly go back.
We went for brunch. There was a beautiful tapas brunch buffet. The food was very good. Just wish they had bottomless mimosa or sangria. Would definitely return
Service, location and atmosphere very good. Would recommend to people who enjoy spicy food. Found the wine list very pricey.
The food and beverage choices were outstanding. Given my dietary restriction - the ability of the chef to accommodate me and my date was very much appreciated. We made a reservation and I would have hoped for a bit more privacy - we were put right in the middle of two other tables, not sure of the circumstances, but perhaps this was the nature of the layout. Will definitely come in again to try more of the menu.
Great find. Cute inside and food was delicious. Would recommend this place. Great if you need pre/post theatre drinks/food.
Outstanding as always. I was trying to think of my favorite dish but one was better than the next. All the meat dishes were incredible as expected but we I guess the biggest surprise was the bold flavors of all the vegetarian dishes. We had a vegetarian dining with us who typically expresses concern when we go out but she was blown away.
Food was only outdone by the service. What a great team. Loved everything
Well done Tod and team
First of all, I love the food. Wonderful Tapas. Great choices for vegetarians and pescatarians. Wonderful octopus, the eggplant is a dream. We had a terrific table and our waiter was on top of things as we had an event afterwards. One minor thing that might bother others more than it did me. We were asked if we have any food allergies. I have one, for a food that I adore but still. Anyway, as we were enjoying our tapas, another server brought us, complements of the chef, a dish of that food. My companion greatly enjoyed it and I had a chuckle (plus a larger share of the eggplant) but someone else might be offended by that.
Would also recommend the Sunday brunch, an amazing spread at a reasonable price. Eater 38 just added the brunch at Oloroso to their hot list.
Wow, what an amazing dinner! We stuck with just tapas and the smaller plates, which definitely filled us up and allowed us to try different dishes. The octopus, beets, scallops, avocado toast and calamari were amazing. Was not too impressed with their cheesecake but everything else was perfect. I will definitely come back.
Great Tapas and cocktails. Very convenient for the Forrest Theatre.
We had 3 individual entrees, the roasted scallops, the chicken, and the whole bronzino. All were delicious and the sour dough bread is to die for! I could have made a meal of the bread dipped in the wonderful broth from my scallop dish which had a great blend of seafood, tomato and saffron flavors. I would definitely return!
We chose the chef’s tasting menu with the 1/2 pig’s head as the main course. The amount of the variety and quantity of food served was plentiful. The quality was exceptional, as was the service. We loved every dish that the chef chose and served. We will definitely return. Highly recommend!
What a great tapas restaurant! We ate at the bar because the bartender was so nice and attentive, although the dining areas were very attractive. The bartender helped us with our choices from the menu. The portions were generous for tapas, and the food was excellent. My husband ordered the octopus, and it was so tender and fresh. We also tried the Boquerones (anchovies), the beets, the wild mushrooms and the avocado toast with crab - everything was very tasty and attractive. While I am not a fan of anchovies or octopus, they were so good that I ate a good portion of these tapas. We will be back to try more as this restaurant is a real win for Philadelphia.
The food was amazing and everything was prepared in a timely manner. If you are interested in flavorful food then this is the place for you. Don't expect the tapas to be large, since this is very traditional where the plates are small and meant to share. Everyone gets a little sample of each thing. But, they do serve large portions to share as well.
Paella, octopus, anchovies, and house made chorizo are amazing!
Our dining experience at Oloroso on June 8,2019 was absolutely perfect. We met with a couple friends of ours and the manager kindly accommodated our request to be seated in the back near the kitchen. This did NOT disappoint. Note this on your reservation though. Our waitress was superbly helpful and guided us through our options and ultimately we selected the five course tasting. I can truthfully tell you after having dined in Philadelphia’s finest, and multiple Michelin starred restaurants such as Fäviken (twice) and the Clove Club in London recently that Oloroso is perhaps the most underrated overall dining experience in the city. Also having dined at Zahav many times and loving what Chef Solomonov does, I can say that at Oloroso the bar program, quality of food, flavor profiles, presentation, and service all are on par with if not exceed its kindred brethren. Order the tasting, try the Sherry (and ask for help doing so), try a Spanish wine, or a creative cocktail and trust the Chef with the tasting. Book now. I will be AGAIN, very very soon. Well done Chef and staff.
We sat at the bar. Bartender service was very good. The appetizers were tasty. Unfortunately the paella was not tasty. It had way too much tomato paste (or sauce) in it which made it sweet and covered up the taste of the seafood. Paella's golden color should come from saffron, not tomato. Worst paella I've ever had and I've had a few.
Olorosa continues to amaze us. Their menu had changed since we last were there, but we loved everything we had. We were 4 people and we shared about 10 small plates and 2 larger serv ings.
It was a terrific dinner.
The Brunch was spectacular!!! So many well executed tapas choices!! We will definitely come back for dinner!
Attentive service, great food and drinks!
