Join us Saturdays and Sundays for Tapas Brunch Buffet from 10:30 AM-2:20 PM!
This was the first visit to Oloroso for 3 of us, and we enjoyed it very much. The brunch offerings were diverse and delicious, and we will definitely return.
What a great dinner we had there. I have always wanted to try Tapas and this did not disappoint. We did the pre-theater menu and it was so nice. We had the salad, the cheese and bread, the shrimp, the pork belly, the potatoes and surprisingly the octopus. We both got the churros for desert. All were so very good.
Though as a high end restaurant their prices are high, but the food was all excellent. As tapas the plates are small, but was mostly filling. The only detraction was the cheese and jam were really less than a teaspoon of the jam and 2 very small slices of the cheese. The rest of the small plates were appropriately sized for tapas sharing
Our waiter was nice and very helpful and kept us going.
I would recommend this place and the pre theater menu.
Service was slow. We felt we were forgotten about several times. Apps and main courses were great. desert was lacking. Churros were oily and budino was too savory.
We came before going to see Hamilton. I had no expectations, just looking to have dinner nearby the theatre. We came early and were never rushed and enjoyed great tapas food. Although there was a pre theatre menu, we ordered from the regular menu. The pulpo oroloso and albondigas were exceptional. We shared the belgian endive salad and the ny strip. Very nice service and would definitely recommend.
Pre-theatre option was great. Enjoyed our meal without being rushed. Would definitely go back!
It was fantastic!!
Awesome and creative tapas. Hard to find this quality in the Northeast. Great wine. Really nice atmosphere
From the moment you walk in to the second you leave Oloroso provides you with a surreal dining experience. The waitstaff and chefs make everything appear as if it was magic--they do that good of a job.
Normally, I am not a fan of Sangria however; this was particularly good with the addition of Aperol and Brandy. The Bacalao was four fish balls perfectly fried so that the cod inside was still cool and moist. The sauces for the pork meatballs and the shrimp dish were so good that I wanted to lick the plates. Make sure that you save room for desert as the churros were melt in your mouth good and the Burnt Honey Budino is so good it defies description!
Whether going for a pre-theater meal or as a destination for dinner this is one restaurant that does not disappoint!
Fantastic location across the street from Forrest Theater (saw Hamilton that night). Scallops and octopus were the favorites and we shared eveything. Seafood Paella was great bigger plate. Waitress guided us well, with amount of food (smaller paella) and made it to the show on time. Olorosa also has a pre-theater menu. We sat in the front of the restaurant, with windows open and looked over Chestnut. A few tables out front too!
Customer service was excellent! Our reservation was for 6:00pm and at 6:15 we still were not seated. We were concerned because we had theatre tickets. We waited at the bar and they gave us 3 complimentary appetizers for our inconvenience. The appetizers were delicious, in addition to the other dishes we ordered. It turned out to ne a wonderful dining experience. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again to all the staff at Oloroso!
Great venue, food, drink selection, staff and prices. Fun establishment to visit prior to a show. Recommend.
Enjoyed the food and the venue slot. Sourdough bread is amazing. Great place to eat if you have plans at the Forrest Theater located across the street.
Food was quite good-to-excellent; just a bit salty for our tastes.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Sangria, only white available, was overpriced with not much wine in it.
Bottled wine offered in the menu was very expensive; almost all over $50.
Third visit. They were very good to begin with — and there’s been continuous improvement. Definitely the best tapas in Philly!
Love the food and the place in general. It's one of my favorites here in Philly.
First time here. Nice ambiance
Food was good different... very tasty
I chose the pre-theatre meal...
I was there by myself and felt that staff wasn't attentive... They were respectful but not friendly... I have to waved the waiters to get any attention to my table.
Excellent food. Paella the best
Disappointed. Really looking forward to a great dinner before a show. Food was very spicy and salty; absolutely everything. Even the fresh sourdough was salty. Add that to a hefty check, which made it even more disappointing.
We had a great anniversary dinner. We were seated at the back by the open kitchen so it was cool to see all the dishes coming out. The kitchen was also giving out complimentary apps - a grilled eggplant dish and potatoes bravas- both were delicious. We shared the paella for our main and it was amazing! Pork belly was also very good.
What a great surprise - we grabbed dinner and drinks before a show. Beets were awesome, so was octopus. Other dishes were solid. Staff was a little slow, but the restaurant was full with pre theatre folks, so as long as you planned for this, it was fine. They graciously accommodated our request to adapt a dish without meat. Bill was reasonable for the quality of the food. We’ll be back!
We very much enjoyed our time at Oloroso. The highlight was certainly the food-- our party ordered from both the pre-theater menu and the regular menu, and all the options were spectacular. We were particularly enamored with the charred eggplant dish. The space itself is charming but very cramped, especially in the front. The service, frankly, was not impressive. One salad was delivered with cheese when asked for without (and the server came up as everyone finished appetizers with something like "I just remembered you said no cheese, should I have them make a new one?" We had already picked it all off ourselves- dairy allergy.) Our server kept our wine on ice elsewhere and had to be asked/reminded numerous times for refills-- not on one occasion, but every single time. One dish got completely forgotten and arrived at the table well after the rest and only after asking the server about it. We noted that it was likely the kitchen's and not the server's fault and appreciated that the server graciously provided an after dinner drink as an apology.
Overall- we would certainly return for the food, and hopefully at a less busy time where the staff was less distracted.
Went here before seeing a show at the Forrest Theater, so we tried the theater menu. Everything was delicious, and as a vegetarian there were some nice options for me (I had at least two choices per course, which might seem limited--again theater menu--but at other tapas places I have had 0 choices, so I was VERY happy). The waiter was also fantastic, we were intrigued by the sherry and he helped us to make a selection so that we could try something not too intense. Everything was served in a way that we did not feel rushed (even though we were on a time limit), and overall we had a wonderful time. I recommend ordering the patatas bravas with whatever else you order (we each ordered our own portion because we've had this dish before elsewhere and knew we wouldn't want to share it), because the portion is a bit larger. I also had the eggplant which I think is the best eggplant I've ever had, definitely would get again. We had both the churros and the budino for dessert--and let me tell you the budino was a religious experience. We will definitely be back because we want to try the full menu and more of that sherry!
The food was delectable! The pork bellies, the calamari the beets! Everything was mouth wateringly good. I will go back as often as I can!
Another outstanding meal at Oloroso. This time, we went for brunch. A beautiful buffet spread with delicious meats, fish and cheeses as well as decadent bites such as crab puffs and ham and cheese croquettes. Fresh fruits and delicious desserts ended a fabulous meal.
An amazing Spanish restaurant. The cook staff has learned the secret of good Spanish cooking. I was transported to a tavern in Northern Spain tasting local had crafted delights.
I have been cooking paella for years and have never found one that reproduces the authentic flavor and and consistency ...with the crispy bits at the bottom....until I now!!!! The staff is very helpful and courteous.
I highly recommend you visit Oloroso and give them a taste. You won’t regret it.
Food was tasty, one of our many servers (it waa hard to tell exactly who our server was) forgot one of our items but since we were all full it wasnt a big deal.
Pre Theater dining. Very good 3 course menu for $35 a person. The only thing I didn’t like were the 2 desserts...the churros were kind of oily and the pudding with salted nuts was just weird tasting. But I was full from the first two courses so I didn’t care.
One of the best tapas restaurants we’ve been to. I always gauge by the quality of the grilled octopus, and theirs is outstanding. Tender, perfectly grilled. Chorizo, sausage and seafood dishes are robustly flavorful. Five selections were just right for my wife and I. Superior service. Wine selections average.
We choose the restaurant because it was close to the theater. The food was delicious and the small plates allowed us to share a number of different dishes.
I loved my experience at Oloroso. Their Sunday Brunch was phenomenal as were their cocktails 🤤💕
Good spot for a romantic dinner.
We have been here at least five times. It’s always top notch, flavors and deliciousness. We love the small plates and the vermouth on ice pairs well with the food. Will be coming back. If you are a foodie this is a great spot.
Overall, most dishes lacked seasoning.
Our servers were amazing, didn’t have to wait for a drink, great food recommendations and delicious appetizers and paella!
Philly’s best kept secret for brunch!!! Small but intimate spot for brunch, tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the city noise, really good quality made to order food, nice open kitchen with helpful and knowledgeable staff, and they certainly make a great mimosa!
Everything slapped heavy. New dessert twerks. Yeah.
Interesting tapas. Good food and service. Pretty place. Of course small plates add up quickly.
Small plates and tapas. Found it a little pricey for what we ordered. Service was great. Nice wine and cocktail list.
Love brunch here! We need to go for dinner!
Very good food.. excellent service and a nice variety of Spanish inspired food. Some of the twists were unexpected but worked very well. Would go back. Want to try some of the other items on the menu.
