Olón - Tropicana Atlantic City Ratings and Reviews
Love Olon. Food...ambiance..service are all excellent!! Our server Marisol is the absolute best!!! She remembered us from last time we were there and knew exactly what to suggest! We will be back. The menu has a variety of entrees. So if you're not adventurous there is still plenty to choose from! Food is delicious! And wines by the glass superb.
Stayed at Tropicana for Valentines Date Night and had reservation for for Olon. First time there and it didn't disappoint. In fact, much to the contrary. It was terrific and we had a great dinner and server. Food was creative, very well presented, and tasted outstanding. We had the spare ribs and Shrimp Ceviche that were both awesome. They have nice tables by the window overlooking the ocean and raised tables for 6 or 8 that also overlook the ocean across the lower dinning area. Ask for a table with a view. Our server was perfect, attentive, and help us make great choices. Great night!
Food was delicious service was great
Many of the guest had a special menu they were ordering from not sure why we all did not have that special menu.
Tables were a little close together could here everyone conversations.
But all in all loved the food and the service.
We loved our dinner at Olon. We had the LA MESA DE JOSE tasting menu and it was fantastic. This gives you a little taste of everything, but not so much you are hurting when you leave. If you can, ask for Mariso as she knew when to stop by, how long to carry the conversation, and what we wanted to hear as far as food suggestions. Great dinner and date!
Really enjoyed the food, it was delicious. Very creative menu, will go back to try other dishes. Liquor was priced to high in my opinion, that my only complaint . Well designed restaurant , great location in the casino. Will return in the summer and request a table by the window to look out at the ocean.
looking over the menu on line I thought it was going to be a BUST, but when we got there & saw the menu, it did have more selections especially if TAPAS aren't your thing. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu & also helped with favorites . White wine was ice cold which is a home run in my book too.
I would go back & recommend Olon to others.
Truly a hidden gem! Tucked into the Tropicana Casino, Olon is an amazing find in Atlantic City! The coconut & shrimp chowder was delicious, but the scallop gratinee appetizer was the most delicious scallops I have ever tasted in my entire life. If you only have this dish you will be grateful you made the trip! The stuffed flounder was fabulous, and the crab cake was out of this world! The crab cake is not fried and comes in a unique shape as well. The sweet corn tamal and the red beans rounded out the dinner perfectly. Save room for desert however, because the coconut parfait (which ordinarily I probably would not select) was beyond heaven in a bowl! If you do not dine here at Olon you are truly missing out! The service was outstanding as well!
First time dining. Last time dining. Menu described by server as “everything meant for sharing” which indicated to us larger portions. Very expensive, extremely small portions. 2 people $130 before tip. Service started out very good but deteriorated after being served the starter bread (crazy good), two glasses of wine & app.
I brought my husband here to celebrate his birthday. The atmosphere was excellent and the food was fantastic. Our server Marisol was extremely helpful with helping us with our food selections. My husband had the lobster and I had the crab cake, our sides cream spinach and whipped potatoes were big enough for use to share. Everything was just perfect for his celebration. We will definitely return again. Thanks Olón for a wonderful evening :-)
This was our second time at OLon. Our server, Cheech, recognized and remembered us. His recommendations, as our first visit, were spot on. The food was excellent. We shared skewers, empanadas, and our entrée was a strip steak which we also shared. It was cooked to perfection.
Patrick, the manager, checked on us periodically to make sure everything was to her satisfaction, and took us on a tour of the neighboring restaurant we were finished. It is a hidden gem.
Don’t forget the desert. I coconut parfait Is awesome.
This was recommended by a friend and it was great. The brunch value is wonderful- afraid to say this as they may rise the price! The raw bar was fresh (wish they had crab claws) and the dishes were all a bit unique. The bloody mary bar was fun!
The service was really good and we had a waiter who was from our home town which is tiny!
Would definitely return.
Service was fair. Took awhile before anybody came over to us. The plantain chips with salsa were really good which we received when we ordered. The screwered tapas were good and you get 3. The mussel dish sounded good but the dish was small and so were the mussels. The sauce was good but too much garlic and salt. The Tuna was good but nothing special. Probably won’t go back. Too many other good restaurants.
Seafood Spanish cuisine. Tapas for appetizers for sharing. We shared guacamole, skewers and empanadas. Small tasting portions but all delicious. Service was excellent. Dining companion was on a special diet. Server brought her celery and carrots to dip in her guacamole. Stuffed flounder and shrimp were both very fresh and good. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The overall atmosphere was nice but a little too noisy for my tastes. Food was fantastic. Wagyu steak was the best steak I have ever had. Service was excellent. This is an expensive restaurant that I wouldn’t recommend for anyone on a tight budget. Under the right circumstances, my wife and I would definitely go back!
We've been twice and loved our food. We like the small dishes and try several. Our friends were disappointed in the amount of food...thought it was too small. They wouldn't go back. She had 1/2 lobster and said she only got 2 forks of meat. Our server Jimmy was outstanding.
Wonderful dinner, everything was absolutely fantastic, Cynthia was our server. We had the cauliflower and empanadas to start, cauliflower skewer was out of this world! The empanadas were delicious too, we got the mista and enjoyed all 4! For dinner I had the chicken and the presentation was fabulous and delicious! My partner had the surf and turf, once again was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Only constructive criticism was that the steak was a little veiny persay, I understand it was probably a skirt sirloin but for the price maybe a little more mindful. Mashed potatoes were heaven! Will be back, will recommend and will be back with others!
