The name ‘Olo’ means ‘hungry’ in Chinook Jargon, a derivative language of English, French, Chinese and Chinook. The Pacific Northwest was once a gathering place for traders from all over the world... French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, First Nations and more; at OLO these influences are integrated into a cuisine that showcases the Cascadian region.
We are lucky to have access to the forest, farms, and ocean here on the West Coast. We are a restaurant that believes in sustainable farming practices, seasonality, and knowing the stories of the growers.

I hesitated to dine at this restaurant during dine around Victoria as I assumed the food and service would not be up to the high standards I would expect. I was wrong the food and service was delightful.
Our second visit to this restaurant, and doesn’t disappoint. Superb food quality, creatively orchestrated and perfectly cooked. Our favourite aspect is the wine pairings that offer unique and regional wines, complementary to the craftsmanship of the food.
We enjoyed a delicious Sunday dinner with our family. Our server Izzy was extremely knowledgeable about the wine and food, and helped us make good choices.
Amazing experience with outstanding service. Our server Carson timed our tasting menu perfectly while being personable and knowledgeable. Food was excellent, very unique and beautifully plated without sacrificing taste. The portions were a good size as well which is a bit less common in higher end dining. I definitely recommend the tasting menu which is amazing value and a totally well rounded experience. Tons of options for vegetarian as well. We will come back time and time again!
The food was exceptional. I would highly recommend the kitchen tasting menu. Service was excellent. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!
Hands down the best meal I’ve had in Victoria. The menu is thoughtfully and beautifully cultivated, the service is friendly, fast and it’s clear the front of house works together to provide superior service, nothing was left on our table for more than 3 minutes after eating, Excellent experience!
Always amazing, my favourite place in the city!
This restaurant does food and ambiance almost perfectly. The only challenge for me is a bit of a value proposition, as I felt that there should be one more course for the costs associated. That said, my reference point id Toronto, where I assume more competition drives margins to be thinner.
My partner and I really enjoy the food, atmosphere and service at Olo. Our favorite place in Victoria.
Wonderful Victoria restaurant! There were a couple of super interesting dishes that were total works of art. All the other dishes were really great!
Our server was absolutely spectacular. Very grounded and relaxed, easy, present, one step ahead, and knowledgable. The alchemy of the perfect server. The other two folks who popped in and out were lovely as well.
I really like the changes the restaurant made transitioning to Olo. Now the top restaurant in Victoria in my opinion.
The food was good.... not outstanding... but decent. Wine list is a bit scant.
The food was amazing. We love how OLO does farm to table. The semolina cubes are a favourite and the new fried mushrooms are delicious (a new favourite for sure!). Every course was so full of flavour - thoughtfully prepared and served. We loved it. And the service was exceptional. Our server was smart, engaging and funny. She made the evening a true delight. We go every time we’re in Victoria for good reason. Don’t miss an opportunity to dine here.
I think there are some better farm to table restaurants we have been to in the past.
Went here as highly recommended but were abit disappointed
Maybe we expected to much but our recent trip to Kelowna the farm to table restaurant put this one down on the experience
The food and service were excellent. The menu was inventive and fun. I would highly recommend.
All around positive experience and you know you’re looking out for the planet a bit too
Delicious and fun atmosphere! We loved the Sablefish Collar and the Radish Apple Salad! We’ll be back next time we’re in town!
Great! Looking forward to returning!
Fabulous food. Did the tastings. Exceptionally creative and well explained. But not pretentious. Just go and enjoy!
The innovative tasting menu was a farm to table tour de force! Exquisite flavours!
One of the best restaurants in BC. Great service, excellent wine list, and strong menu choices. One small note: as a vegetarian, I would like something more elevated for enteees.
Simply the best, every dish, every time!
An excellent place for a special occasion, we felt taken care of and there wasn’t a part of the meal we didn’t enjoy. The price point may mean we could only go perhaps once a year, but we will definitely do so once we need another treat.
The tasting menu was poor. Carrots both raw and parboiled in salad. Tiny splotches of something barely possible to taste with tiny portions. Camera ready plates without much substance. Gnocchi were good, sorbets confused. Tuna tataki indistinguishable from the Thrifty offerings. Sommelier needs to show the bottles and labels so clients can get better details other than the day the grapes were harvested..pretentious. Hate leaving a restaurant with only one person's bar bill at that expense. Don't have a big appetite but left hungry. Quel dommage!
We had an outstanding meal here. There are many restaurants in BC which focus on local ingredients to try and create an innovative cuisine which can stimulate and intrigue the palate in a delicious way. Very few are successful at this, however OLO is one of the restaurants that 'sets the bar'.
Every aspiring chef should eat at OLO as it provides an example of a restaurant can be stunningly executed through all levels: the staff, service, and menu all within a charming setting.
Absolutely. we love it there. I can't stop telling everyone about it.
The lamb duo was absolutely delicious and the wine outstanding. Service was excellent. I would definitely refer this restaurant to a friend and we will definitely be back.
I have visited OLO a number of times and twice in the last weeks. It is an exceptional restaurant - imaginative menu, locally-sourced items, wonderful presentation, great cocktails and a perfect wine list. The most amazing part however is the service. Every time I have been there the service has been above and beyond but the most recent time was probably the best. Our server, Carson, was welcoming and professional with an incredible knowledge of what she was serving, in particular she had a deep knowledge of the wine list and spent a fair amount of time educating us about the wines and providing excellent suggestions to match the food.
OLO remains one of the very best restaurants in the area. The food and service are impeccable. Staff are knowledgeable and happy to advise on wine pairings. The refresh of the decor has also added some nice touches. Highly recommended.
Olo has been a favourite restaurant for a couple of years but no longer. The meat, in my case flank steak, is presented as a thick dull but perfectly uniform brown/grey surface. The soups vide and whatever method they use to finish renders the steak as unnatural and unappetizing. The vegetables were all over salted. The cheeseburger was dense, highly salted and almost inedible. Nothing stood out as exceptional at our table of 6 except for the fried mushrooms and the excellent chocolate cakes.
Every time I go it is outstanding. Great friendly & knowledgeable staff, excellent food, and a warm & welcoming atmosphere. Definitely at the top of my list to bring people visiting Victoria who appreciate great dining
The restaurant was absolutely delightful! All wait staff were energetic, kind and good-humored. The food was uniformly excellent. The atmosphere was convivial and the space lovely and intimate.
The meal was fantastic from start to finish. We ordered the gnocchi for a starter, and we agreed we could have eaten that all night, the flavors were just right. Had the duck and my niece ordered the steak and we loved every bit. My niece told me it was the best meal she's ever eaten - it surely ranks in my top 10.
Some restaurants try to be great. This one is great without fuss. Great food. Great service. Knowledgeable and interesting service. Sophisticated simplicity. Understated elegance.
What a delicious dinner! I had the Lamb Duo, my wife had the Duck Breast, both beautifully presented and really wonderfully tasty. Started with well made cocktails, and a bold Syrah with dinner. Friendly, unique restaurant, and we will be back!
Carson was a delightful server who looked after all our special allergies. The drinks and food were also amazing
We celebrated my eldest son's University Graduation at OLO and were thrilled with the unpretentious and knowledgeable service, the interesting and delicious food and the overall warm and pro atmosphere. It is a higher price point restaurant but worth it.
I hosted a couple who are dear friends to me. They have lived in Europe and have travelled extensively so are connoisseurs of wine and food. Your place was recommended to me and it did not disappoint.
Initially I was concerned that the menu choices we a bit limited but the duck and the steak did not disappoint. The presentation was awesome and the flavours with both dishes were heavenly.
Carson, our waitress, was lovely and her knowledge of the wines was very impressive. I have continued to rave about our experience and look forward to returning.
Our friend highly recommended the duck so we came with high anticipation but duck was not on the menu!! It is good that they changed their menu frequently but I think the menu can easily be updated online. We checked online and there was duck... We were really disappointed.
I feel like the always evolving menu has become complacent and the quality of each dish has become less satisfying every visit. The farm to table scenario is always amazing. The service is always at least very good. Ambiance is great. Maybe just time for a refresher?
