What a nice find on Lincoln Road. Great food and drinks. Great to order a lot and try the diverse menu.
Our reservation for Father's Day brunch was for 11:30 AM. We arrived at 11:20 and were told that they would not be opening until noon. No apologies were given, and the employee we spoke to was very rude. When we explained that our reservation was for 11:30, he simply kept repeating that they only had one chef. They would not seat us, and it appeared as if the restaurant was still being prepared to open. Very dissatisfied with the experience. We went elsewhere.
Very good food, all 5 of us enjoyed our food. Server Stephan was very helpful and attentive. Will surely go back.
It was Ok. Not more. If you compare food and quality than it is much to expensive.
As an appetizer I had Hamachi. It was maybe 30 grams of fish for 14 $. The fish was not really fresh. After that I ordered Costillas enchiladas. The red mole was tasted like ketchup...
The crew was very friendly but that is not enough. Overall that's it for me.
Went for brunch only to be informed they did not have eggs or guacamole...for brunch.
All ten of us lived every bite
Food was Ok... Came cold and very late and wrongly.. So my wife had to wait even longer! Not good at all
We had a pleasant experience dining in LA Olla. Their menu options are different and authentic. Great for sharing with friends and try one of each specialty.
The Chilaquiles were heavenly and the torrejas sinful.
The ahumado was very refreshing as well it was the delicious guacamole.
This is the first Mexican restaurant in South Florida that knows the diference between a Chelan an a michelada.
Food was wonderful. Lots of great options all prepared well. There was a kitchen mishap where one dish came out much later but the restaurant more than made it up to us. Truly fantastic service.
Olla is 90% of the way to being the best Mexican option in Miami Beach. The welcoming, attentive service is uts hallmark. The innivative and unusual regional Mexican menu is terrific, though the execution of it is a hit or a miss on a few menu items. I continue to recommend this Lincoln Rd dining option, especially as it evolves positively in the kitchen.
Great guac but very small portion. Slow service. Interesting clear-colored mojito: mostly ice, but a very nice flavor - maybe ask for it with very lite ice. Skip the grasshoppers.
We drove all the way from Pembroke Pines to check it out because we love Mexican food of all ilks- verdict: worth the drive. This was more nouvelle Mexican, and we did not encounter copious cheese, so tex-mex fans beware. The star of what we had was the duck breast on red mole. One of the best rendtions of any duck breast preparations we have had.... in the french style not the Chinese style. We also had chapulines, cauliflower, carnitas, and a tamal. All were outstanding except the tamal which had a nice taste but the texture of the masa was too dense. The mezcal and ginger beer cocktail was excellent and lead to an order of the mezcal flight which featured three one-ounce glasses in order of smokiness with an explanation from the very affable host. We would make the drive again.
Excellent food from the province of Oaxaca, considered the finest culinary province in Mexico. Chef Scott Linquist creates molés of stunning depth, small plates that are bursting with flavor and a dazzling collection of Mezcal and Tequila. Excellent for brunch on weekends
A welcome addition to South Beach and Miami in general. Chef Scott Linquist knows Mexican food and is filing a major void in town with his modern and flavorful Mexican fare. His dishes are creative, intersesting and packed with a plethora of well balanced flavors. Lots of great dishes on that menu so go hungry, grab a mezcal and enjoy the ride.
This was a nice little spot just off to the West of the Lincoln Road Mall strip. Very tasty dishes and drinks with good, knowledgeable wait staff.
I read great reviews, but at the end we left underwhelmed. A few things on the menu were good, but nothing was great and a few things were just ok. Nothing was particular wrong with the service, or the food, it just was not "great' that I am not sure we will come back. If you like Mexican food, give it a try, it certainly has some interesting options.
Fresh and delicious authentic Mexican food served in a fun atmosphere with the most welcoming service in town!
Creative Mexican menu... including grasshoppers!
Great food great location!
The service was excellent and the waiter explained the entire menu so we'd have an idea what to order. The food was also delicious and great for sharing. It's more authentic Mexican food as supposed to TexMex. The churros dessert it's a must have when you go to this place.
This was delicious. We sat outside and brought our kids and ate wonderfully
This is what I call authentic Mexican cuisine and I go to Mexico regularly for business. The dishes are different from other Mexican restaurants in Miami, exciting taste sensations, and prices are fair. Can't wait to go back.
Really wanted to like this place but food was disapponting -- just heavy and not that flavorful. Service was very friendly, which made us even more disappointed. Great location, so they could really drive it if chef would update the cooking.
One of best restaurants in Miami/Miami Beach. We return often. Do not be put off that this is identified as a "Mexican" restaurant. It is not run-of- the-mill Tex-mex but, rather, sophisticated, creative cuisine with a Mexican flare. Terrific, friendly staff. Try it once- you will want to return soon. On Lincoln Road a quarter block west of Alton.
The decor was modern and pleasant. Seats were comfy and since it was a Wednesday night, It wasn't packed which worked well for our party of 7 since we were catching up with each other. Outside seating was available but our table was located inside in a good spot. Service was attentive, warm and professional. The server recommended items for us to start with which we eventually ordered and liked. The guacamole was actually delicious. The menu comprises of many Mexican regional dishes many of which we tried. We mainly ordered the seafood items and a steak dish. Everything was full of flavor and delicious! Not to forget the cocktails, they were refreshing and delish as well. Overall our dinner experience was very good. Thanks to the team who made it happen.
Drinks are not exciting enough and too sweet....
Food tasted good but we all got pretty sick after we left... bloated from too much salt probably and tummy pain...
Excellent value for South Beach good authentic Mexican food
Quality mexican dining. Great service, but it takes a bit long to get the skillets, let them know if you are on your lunch break.
Great ambience and good! Fabulous service also.
Great Find in South Beach! Delightful! Great Vegetable dishes. Short Ribs outstanding!
This place isn't fancy but has a stylish-casual vibe. The food exceeded expectations, and the service was excellent--friendly and informative. We loved the remolachas, the roasted Brussels sprouts, mole duck breast and carnitas, and pork cochinita. Good-sized portions, reasonable prices.
Great food and service!
In Olla Chef Scott Linquist (whose Coyo in Wynwood is an extraordinarily popular informal tacqueria) has created a casual sit down restaurant with exceptional food from Mexico's Oaxaca province. This is refined and complex cuisine that manages to provide huge flavor and still remain wine friendly. The restaurant has excellent service, a huge selection of craft tequila and mezcal and excellent service. Best of all there is a wide variety of dishes arranged in easy to navigate groups. Whether you are new or experienced with Oaxacan cuisine you'll find plenty to live at Olla.
By the way Olla (pronounced Oy-yuh) is a pot and refers to the clay vessels in which many of the dishes are served. The best way to experience the menu is to approach it family style - portions are somewhere between Tapas and traditional main courses in size and lens themselves to sharing to try as many things as possible.
Great food but the poor service really drags this restaurant down. Out of rum on a Saturday night at 7 seems a little odd. 18% automatic gratuity allows the service to be poor. Service was worth 5% at best.
Food was very tasty and good as well as the presentation. Waiter was sweet but nothing special. No. confidence. Like she was afraid of people. Dirty plates had to be asked to be removed. Water was not refilled. Had to be asked too. Food came out minus one plate. It wasn't busy at all. Waiter messed up the order but was sweet enough to accept responsibility and was very nice about it. We all make mistakes. It's ok.. Manager was very nice too. Dessert was on the house. The service and the menu prices (for Mexican food) are not at par. Service lags big time. Got a long way to go. No need to return. Wish them luck!
Had a lovely meal here with friends. The cocktails were lovely and all our food was very tasty. The menu was interesting with lots of dishes you wouldn't find in a standard Mexican restaurant. Lovely to be able to eat outside also.
Everything was amazing!!!
Definitely not your ordinary Tex-Mex; far from it. Eat at Olla soon while the menu is creative and for some challenging; afraid it will become more generic with time. Each item we ordered was interestingly prepared and presented. Ingredients were fresh. Service was a little uneven, but server and manager were very knowledgeable and did a good job scheduling appearance of different items. Highly recommended for those who love to eat.
Wow. What great food, and such a friendly atmosphere. Creative Mexican at its best. Especially liked the duck gordita and the mushroom/tortilla dish. Yucatán pork great, too!
I think we ordered too much food. The dishes were all delicious though. The waiter was very friendly and informative.
