The Spot was very cute and relaxed, the servers moved a heat lamp for us and the wine was great. Main course we’re fantastic, apps were a touch uninspired. All around great spot will be back.
The food was actually quite delicious. Our server, however, was distracted and unavailable for most of the evening. The bussers were nice . They actually were much more friendly and attentive than the server.
So happy to be able to return to beautiful Oliveto!
It is impossible to justly judge the noise level when I ate at a temporary outdoor table set up for the pandemic. However, the chairs were reasonably comfortable and the tables not rickety, which is more than can be said for some places' usual seating.
The food was absolutely lovely, a beautifully cooked steelhead filet set off nicely with roast fingerling potatoes and a wonderfully subtle arugula and fennel salad, all accompanied by a very decent pinot grigio. Portions weren't huge (I did finish my meal, it had been 6 hours since brunch), but were not the stingy portions often served at fine establishments.
The vanilla panna cotta was lovely, but I wasn't impressed with the balsamic caramel sauce. It wasn't bad, but the combination of flavors didn't really do anything for each other, just sat next to each other on my palate.
Service was excellent. I am often made to feel as if I'm not quite welcome, taking up a table for two when dining alone, but I was very well taken care of.
While everything was excellent and I expect Bay Area prices to be high, I've definitely had better meals for less. The value wasn't great, but I didn't feel ripped off, and my server earned his 25% tip even at high prices.
Oliveto's need to close until they can do much better. It was nothing close to what is was. The food was cold, the menu was marginal, and the galvanized roof with little wind break was terrible. The strawberry dessert had a biscuit that was hard as a rock. I know about Covid, but I have been other places that do a good job. Do not go there until things are much better.
Food and service were excellent and indoor dining was appropriately spaced for covid. The decor was understandably quite sparse as they had just reopened. No flowers, no decorations.
We both ordered the duck breast and it was way overcooked and tough. I don’t know if this is a bad night or not but this was terrible. We ate here last week and enjoyed our meal. At this price $34 per duck order we expected much better. We will not be returning.
Food was uninspired and pizza was downright gross. Especially for the price, would have expected better.
Great ambiance and food! Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad were excellent.
One of our favorites
Spaghetti Neri is my fav. They go out their way to use innovative heat lamps during Covid 19 outdoors requirements.
The lamb was cold and the desert was hard and cold. Very sketchy service.
Service was less than perfect-
Waiter did not hear orders on multiple occasions -
Ordered a bottle of wine and he delivered a glass of wine
Order a glass of wine at end of dinner - forgot to deliver
A great evening with spot on food and great service!
Oliveto continues to impress! wonderful to be 'back' in the inside, well distanced, with excellent wait staff and delicious food.
enjoyed the service and the outdoor dining, will return again
Delicious food. Always wish the portions were bigger!
Another lovely anniversary dinner at Olivetto’s!
The outdoor dining experience was lovely, and the food and the service was at the usual high standards.
We had a good time but nothing special with regard to the food or drinks. Service was good.
Great service, nice outdoor space with heat lamps.
It was great to go out and eat indoors (a first in many months). The food was delicious - we had the special dinner for that evening, a quail saltimboca. The waiter could not have been nicer!
The food is always good, the service is excellent and the Meyers sound system just makes the experience delightful
Beautiful setting, very outdoor "indoor" experience. Best Caesar salad! Great cocktail, good wine list, nice menu. Service was excellent! All of that and white tablecloths!
Great food & service. Love the addition of outdoor heaters at each table for the cooler evenings & now ubiquitous patio seating. Outdoor seating can be romantic, also past ready to dine back inside!!
Really enjoyed evening out as a couple and good safety.
Eating at Oliveto's is always a pleasure. The food is superb and the service is excellent.
Oliveto’s ain’t what it used to be. Big drop off in food quality and dining experience.
menu looked simple but the food was fresh and pasta so tasty, we wish Olivetto the best to stay in business since its such a great restaurant!
This place was great for a friend date. Looking forward to going again.
It Was A Good Night Out
Sadly, I think COVID has taken it's toll on this restaurant. The food did not feel fresh (chicken was dry an rubbery) and the service was rushed and not friendly. I will give it another chance, but was disappointed by my recent visit.
The waitress was attentive and provided good service. The food was bland (beets were canned & cold, broccoli cold and Brussel sprouts unseasoned). Even the kale salad w/ granny Smith apples didn't have any kick or taste w/ extra dressing added. The chicken was moist and thank God I had that, instead of the 4 pieces of lobster ravioli, for the same price. At a $120+ for 2 people, I'd at least like to be able to have a good salad. Overall, it was extremely underwhelming. With the rave reviews and high star ratings, I'm honestly wondering if people from the Bay area have tastebuds, or use seasoning that isn't salt and pepper.
Wonderful. Very clean and friendly service.
We dine at Oliveto every few months. The food, service and atmosphere are always superb. Their polenta is incredible and their pizzas are wonderful.
Great service. Great food.
Love, love love Oliveto - fantastic food, friendly people, beautiful place for a nice night out.
I love this place.
Excellent meal -felt very safe in our own little pod with respectful server. Menu creative and well presented
Fantastic food!
It has been so very long since we went out to eat...! The entire evening was a delight.
