Absolutely loved everything about Oliver’s! My boyfriend and I went there for my birthday dinner and it exceeded my expectations; the food and drinks were amazing. They sat us at the “best seat in the house” and we got to watch the sunset while eating our dinner, so romantic. Definitely plan on coming back next time we are in Erie!
People bent over backwards to make sure we enjoyed our meal & the whole experience! We don't often spend over $100 for 2 meals ....has to be a special occasion & they helped make it very special, the food was delicious, eye appealing & better than anything I have eaten at a restaurant in years!! Loved the pasta/lobster, quantity is such I will have second meal today! Berry tiramisu was to die for! Over all an awesome place, views spectacular & food sumptuous!
Food was amazing. More upscale but perfect for special occasions. Awesome view. More noisy than expected but overall a great experience.
Good food and service, GREAT view, drinks are pricey. Only real negative was noise... table near a large, loud group at bar. But overall good experience - nice to have in Erie.
food was very basic, overpriced for what it was and uninteresting. so much could have been so better with a decent chef in charge. it’s clear this kitchen lacks talent.
white rice and broccoli was everywhere. menu item descriptions did not match what was received. very, very weak kitchen indeed. it was disappointing.
sauces were bland and too thick. pasta all over cooked. asparagus stems all over an expensive lobster plate - the lobster was over cooked (mealy) and under represented. brandy parmesan sauce? don’t think so.
atmosphere, service and drinks were great. we won’t be back for dinner after spending $180 for three on mother’s day.
i left a more detailed yelp review (chris m). OpenTable doesn’t allow copy and paste for some reason.
I have been before but we wanted to celebrate Mother’s Day with the kids and we had a very good time the food is always good.
Good food ,good service, great atmosphere and views are the tops... prices are reasonable... portions very appropriate ... too bad you didn't design it so you could have both outside dinning and inside dinning at the same time. I know you can open the doors but you could have had a permanent outside deck... In any event nice job ..
Very good service, food. Also very friendly staff. Will definitely go back.
Food was OK, not great. Service was slow but it was 6pm on Mother’s Day and I suspect they had been quite busy all day. Had a misunderstanding about a cocktail that was ordered and what we were charged for but they made the appropriate adjustment.
We were a party of 4 celebrating “ Mother’s Day. Great table location. We all really enjoyed our drinks, appetizers and entre’s. The service and presentation and food were all spot on. The only minus was the noise level. We could hear our conversations but the background noise was nearing deafening. All in all we had a wonderful time.
Took my 85 year old mother for dinner on Mother’s Day. She enjoyed her dinner and everyone was so nice
I ordered the filet............melted in my mouth. Excellent!
Food was amazing
Our server was wonderful
Atmosphere was enjoyable and the decor was well done showing interesting aspects of ERie past and present. We will definitely return to celebrate another special family gathering
Complementary pastry was offered.
We were there on Mother's Day, the restaurant was full in the middle of the afternoon. I was surprised at the noise level. My husband said it resembled a sports bar. I guess we expected a fine dining experience. The food was excellent! The service great! Now that we know what to expect, we won’t be surprised when we go back. I know we will!
Took my mom for Mother’s Day. I’m already planning on reservations for her birthday in a few months. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. The service from the minute we walked through the door to when we left was fantastic. Other than a slight mix up in the kitchen with our orders, that was handled immediately by our server, the experience was the best ever. Will definitely be back.
The food was delicious, and the quantities were very generous. 3 out of 4 of took food home with us, so even though it is expensive, you definitely get your money's worth. The view would have been awesome, except for the rain. We look forward going back on a nice day so that we can look out on the bay.
Laura the server was a great
Sadamere the manager was pleasant
Our food & dessert was amazing
If I could give 100 stars I would Thanks for treating us so nice can’t wait to return. Laura, Sadamere, the bartender, chef, & baker all are mentionable.. everything was impeccable.. if only the weather permitted but the atmosphere made it all worth it..
great atmosphere, waitress very attentive, food was great
It it a beautiful place to have dinner me and my wife had a great time I will definitely be back just for the tempora shrimp they are to die for !
First time visit and we really enjoyed it! Intimate setting with fantastic views all around. Each corner seemed to have its own theme with the decor. Service and food were excellent. Current offering was a limited menu, but a nice variety and relatively reasonable pricing. Will definitely go back. Reservation is a must for peak times.
We had a very nice dinner with my in-laws. It’s arguably the best view in Erie. The food was excellent. Wait staff was a little confused (I think they brought appetizers and drinks for other tables to ours by mistake.. 3 times before we finished our first drinks).
They need a bourbon list. When I asked the waitress, who was very nice, which bourbons they had, she listed 4 non-bourbon whiskeys and the one well-level bourbon.
I suspect, like so many restaurants (and businesses) these days, that they are having trouble hiring. Unfortunately, it’s hard to find people who want to work.
My husband and I had a great dinner - the food was unbelievable, the staff was very friendly, decor was beautiful and the view of the bay is awesome.
Amazing and beautiful place. Staff is really nice and the food is delicious
An overall great experience.
Attentively served by John with great food and drinks. Outstanding views.
Oliver's is a great location and the food was very, very good. Service was wonderful as well.
I made this reservation through Open Table and specifically asked for a low, window table. No such table was held or available for us however. We were offered a high table in the middle of the location. Not sure what the true purpose is for using "Open Table" for the reservation--next time I will call Oliver's directly.
Great food and beautiful atmosphere. Our server was very helpful and really made our experience wonderful.
My overall experience was quite faviorable except that I never paid $17.00 for a Manhattan made with Maker's Mark a slight amt. of sweet vermouth and a martini glass.I can see that the bar will not be a place that I would frequent! Food, however, was great.
Two of us had the chicken picatta and it was delicious. Serving size was huge and ate rest next night. My dad got the walleye and said it was best he ever had.
Hostess was rude, did not want to seat me at a table as they had other reservations for parties of 2 or 4
And they made reservations before me!
Is open table first come first serve? I made a reservation and was asked to sit at the bar as I was alone !
Finally ordered dinner and asked for no mushrooms with my entre.... mushrooms were included
Waitress offered to remake about half way through my dinner. Nothing else was offered to rectify mistake, freed drink... dessert....
Manager was greeting diners but skipped my table
As a business customer I often eat alone but have never been treated so poorly.
Waitress was polite , table I was seated at was not set
I would not return to this establishment
Our waitress was excellent. The staff very friendly. The food was excellent. The music could be taken down a bit. Looking forward to dining there again.
Everything thing we ordered was excellent from the appetizers. soup to the main course. Our waitress did a great job and we loved the atmosphere and view. We will go again.
Very good food and service. Would recommend to friends and family.
Service definitely needs improvement, for being a fine dining restaurant we were disappointed. Drink order was not correct, when asked if it could be corrected was told the beer that was ordered was out of stock. Asked for a gluten free menu, server said she would be back, came back and asked to take order when we questioned the gluten free menu was told what do you want, I have to ask. Then she left again and came back to confirm if meal could be prepared GF. 3 of the 6 guests got soup or salad, all food came out at once. One meal was missing and server did not come back for at least 15mins after food was brought out to check in. Once meal was received half of it was cold. The food itself was good, I recommend the lobster pasta. However for the price, you expect the service to be on par. Will most likely give Oliver’s another shot in the future in hopes that this was a fluke in service.
We had a terrible table with no view despite booking in advance. Very disappointed with table location from Open Table
My sister-in-law and I had filet mignon and the whipped potatoes and asparagus. Ordered medium no pink inside at all and the asparagus was over cooked like mush. Did not think it was worth $125.00 meal. Got side salad for $42.00 salad should be included. Not very impressed with service took forever to get our beer and asked for A1 steak sauce never got it asked again when filet was half gone.
We were pleased to make our first visit to this restaurant on the top floor of the Hampton Inn. It is a pleasant spot with engaging young staff. It is obviously very popular with a bustling crowd, including several larger groups on a weeknight. The menu is brief and a bit pricey, but everything we had was very good. We enjoyed a delicious flatbread appetiser, the chicken souvlaki salad and the incredible lobster pasta. The latter was very rich and tasty; they kindly substituted broccoli for asparagus.
Definitely a good spot for a special occasion or date night.
Great View. Very expensive alcohol. Food was priced higher than most restaurants in the area. Don't know if we would go back again.
Great location and impressive views
Food was delicious! Had the lobster pasta. My husband had the salmon and raved about it. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very nice. The sunset was not so good, but what a view!!!! Will return!
