Service was horrible and EXTREMELY slow. They had only a “Theatre Menu” which was only burgers. Will NEVER be back
We allowed an hour for dinner before a show. We were promptly seated and our order was promptly taken. After several reassurances that our food was "almost done", the waiter brought out a basket of fries about 45 minutes into the night. Food arrived as we had to leave and we were unable to eat it. At least we weren't charged for anything.
We had not been to Oliver’s since last fall. We made a reservation as we had hoped to see a band as they advertise weekly Friday/Saturday music. Unfortunately this has changed to every other week. While a little disappointed the food and atmosphere on a cold rainy night was very good. Brussel Sprouts and any burger are a good choice.
My wife and I go to a few CSO concerts at Ohio Theatre every year. We have been looking for a place within walking distance to eat beforehand, and have tried other places (reviewed elsewhere), and thought to try Oliver's. We dined with two other couples.
The ambiance was a pleasant surprise. The walls are brick; the many TVs were silent: playing was a Blues playlist that one could easily converse over; it was well-lighted and cozy; the conversation wasn't loud--but it was not crowded, and with brick walls I could see how it could be noisy.
Our table (for 8) was by the front door, wedged in near the side of the bar, so that half the table (3 seats) were in the path of the server's kiosk and bartender's exit. One could not sit there and be expansive in his gestures. Not tight, just carefully constrained. But plenty of room on the table.
The service was very good: attentive but unobtrusive. I guess it's difficult to manage serving more than 4 people.
The food was iffy. I ordered a Cuban burger, medium, but it was well done, and rather dry. The fries' serving sizes were enormous, both regular and sweet potato (mine). Indeed, one of my guests did not finish his, which I had never seen before. Mine were a bit cool, but tolerably tasty. They come with an interesting sweet caramel sauce, but I preferred standard ketchup. The appetizer onion rings were plentiful and decent. I neglected to check around the table to see how everyone's food was, but heard no complaints. It took a long time to come out, and we barely made the concert.
I like IPA, and the Wolf's was good, $7.50 (2); my wife got a glass of wine, $20, so the booze inflated the bill at the end. Our friends got a flight of Top Shelf, 4 1 oz. pours / $30. They like bourbon. The curious thing is that the barkeep did not know much about bourbon and our server did not drink--though she was right on the IPA.
In short, we'll go back, but I'll add 30 minutes, make the burger rare. and stick to 1 beer.
Food was good but gave limited menu with only burgers and wings on it to us but other tables got full menus that they had to ask for sometimes.
Our waiter had informed us, under new ownership and all new staff. Was great with all that going on. ladies bathroom sink needs some work, and was little confusion over some items on menu- but overall great food and experience.
This restaurant would be appropriate if you just wanted to grab some drinks. The bourbon selection was extensive. But I had made reservations prior to going to see Hamilton and picked it because of the proximity to the theater. Upon arrival though their (theatre) menu was limited to mainly hamburgers and chicken wings. The food was subpar and the Decour was about the same.
We waited 1 hr for our food. Had to eat in 5 minutes in order to get to a show on time.
Wine is $10 a glass. Beers are $7. Super choices on bourbon. House made black bean burger was good but messy. Cheese added to burgers cost $2. Suggest reservations on event nights. Extremely friendly and good service.
Needed a place to eat to before a Sunday matinee play at the Ohio Theater. Olivers was within walking so we decided to give it a try. The food was nothing special, small portions for the cost of the meal.
Loved the burger! Our server Thad was awesome and super attentive. Saturday nights have live jazz and the quality was really great!!
Menu was very limited and apps were overpriced. $8.00 for chips and salsa?! If you don’t want a burger then this isn’t the place for you. Great band and fun atmosphere but down an alleyway that was poorly shoveled for foot traffic. Service was very good.
Overly priced especially the drinks
They need to did a make over. Also they ran out of food on Saturday night so we couldn't get no Entrees. They messed up my order twice. So I had to eat wings with no taste. My waiter was great. He was the best thing out my whole experience. Will not return.
Terrible service! Waited over 1.5 hours for food!!! Live music was a poor selection and entirely too loud! Asked to speak with the manager and yet he/she never showed up to speak with us. Would DEFINITELY never go back!
Terrible food. Sold out of fries even
Food was excellent. The service was great and we enjoyed the music. Definitely recommend!
In the 90 minutes we spent there, we were delivered one drink and had to leave prior to getting our appetizer. Surprisingly poor drink quality from the bar as well. Was a frustrating attempt at “dinner and drinks” prior to a show.
We NEVER were served our meal and it was never communicated there was a problem until another patron got up and shouted there was an issue. Very disappointing for a couple with a newborn at home, on their first night out.
We arrived at 7:30 on a Friday before a 9:30 show at the Palace Theater. We ordered food right away to ensure plenty of time to receive and eat our dinner. Drinks were taking 15-20 minutes, hummus appetizer took 55 minutes & at 9:10 our food had not arrived so we canceled the order & left. Many other groups had to do the same. Some we’re told “you’re just not getting food tonight”. Pathetic! Such a wonderful atmosphere and we had high hopes. My group of 6 will never return and will voice our displeasure to anyone that asks.
We waited 2 hours for our meals, just to be told that they would not be coming. We had to cancel our meal orders in order to make it to a show that we had tickets for. No one even bothered to update us on our orders until we asked about them, after we had waited for almost 2 hours. The majority of the other patrons also had the same issue and left at the same time.
Worst experience ever. We got up and left before our food even came. We had tickets to a show and we waited an hour and a half for our dinner and couldn’t wait anymore so we left. The nachos were awful and they were out of numerous things on the menu at 7pm!! Wait staff took 15 min to acknowledge us at our table and app took 20 min to come out. Will not return!
We never got our food. We were trying to make the 7 pm show at The Palace, waited and waited for our food, finally the waiter came over and said "I have canceled your food order, there isn't enough time to get it out to you" We had to pay for our drinks and one appetizer. Terrible service. My drink was not good at at all, but I didn't complain about it. We will never go back.
By far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant, I don’t even know where to start.... but here’s just a few highlights. I thought we were being punked. Ordered food then after 30-40 minutes someone came out to tell us they were out of stuff to make one of the burgers, then 1/2 our tables food comes out with Mac and cheese room temperature (I am being generous). One meal came out completely incorrect 5 people we were with came in 30 minutes after us and no drink or greeting for 30 minutes. We get a manager, she says I’ll take care of it and make it right, she goes AWOL, one meal came out as we were getting ready to leave for our show and then after being given a bill for just drinks, which we paid, a male manager comes up with a duplicate bill and says we need to pay it...which I rudely replied yeah already paid it once, OMG THEY HAVE SOME SERIOUS ISSUES! But I really felt bad for our server poor guy was a mess. Just an FYI- there was more but I’ve shared enough to get my point across. Too bad since it was a pretty cool little place that has potential!
Nick did a great job serving our groups' first time visit to Oliver's On Lynn. The manager Donna checked on us and even brought out a little more pita bread for the amazing humus appetizer. Brussels sprouts were so good! The fresh salsa and queso were a great starter as well. The Juicy Lucy burger I ordered was one of the best I have had. Highly recommend!
Staff and food are great. Bartenders make great drinks and suggestions
Wonderful service, great music, and delicious food!
Great blues by Dylan Koski and the Syndicators! Really enjoyed the food, the friends and the music. And our waiter and the rest of the staff were very attentive.
I had the best burger, the Patti Melt with sweet potato fries. My meal was delicious. So much flavor with the bourbon cooked onions. I thoroughly enjoyed a great burger! My bf had the tenderloin sandwich. He said it was okay ... needed a bit more flavor. The chips salsa and queso was good. The queso was very good; salsa was bland so we mixed it together and that was tasty. The drink menu looked very nice... a huge bourbon selection. I love bourbon but we were eating early, so only had a glass of wine. Plan to go back, have a drink with bourbon, and see a band play.
Excellent food. Recommend the blackened chicken, patty melt and Juicy Lucy burger. Great music venue for Shaun Booker.
Food was good, but service was awful. It was busy but not to busy. Bourbon selection was large but nothing special.
Wonderful place. Great bar food, friendly service, great ambiance, and live music to boot! I’ve got a little crush on this place!
Great meal before a show at the Ohio Theater. The staff took care us very well and the food was delicious. Very limited options for children, especially for drinks. But other than that, a great experience.
Very friendly place with fantastic food. I have eaten there three times and have thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.
First time at Olivers. Will definitely return. Really good food, great vibe, cool atmosphere
Beers are super over priced. 7.50 for a draft during happy hour????
One of my favorite Columbus spots! Food, drink, and service are always top notch.
The food was delicious and the service excellent! Great burgers and I especially enjoyed the winter martini concoction that the bartender suggested. All of our group of seven enjoyed their meals and beautiful brick and wood design of the room.
The live music was fun but really loud for a date night! Also we were close to the door which made it really cold with people going in and out to smoke. Great bourbon selection but charging an extra dollar for drinks on the rocks seems a little ridiculous. Burgers were fine- a but undercooked. Great sweet potato fries! Everything was good but not great- just didn’t feel like a $100 meal
1st time at Olivers and it was great! My husband loves bourbon so he was in heaven. The foot was delicious and our server was great. Definitely recommend this place!
