I was pleasantly surprised by our experience. The online menu seemed quite limited for brunch, but they had recently added eggs benedict to the menu and it was delicious. I am not a huge fan of the Meritage, but a friend was participating in the outdoor market so we went to Olive & Hay to make it easier for her to arrive in time to set up.
Our server was very friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant was attractive. As a local, I'd be inclined to return if the prices were lowered a few dollars all around. The entrees, drinks and mimosas were just a tad north of other competitive restaurants in the Napa Valley.
Overall we had a nice experience!
Nice broad open floor plan so plenty of room between tables for safety and privacy. Beautifully presented and tasty food.
Good was good - we were not disappointed snd service was excellent. I had avocado toast which was tasty - just couldn’t eat the toast because it was overdone and hard. We all had sides of bacon and it was excellent. My husband had lemon ricotta pancakes and they were exceptional. Power bowl and mushroom omelette were both well done too. Highlight was the potatoes!!
Great service and great food!
Had Thanksgiving dinner. It was a preset menu. The turkey was dry and not sure on the flavor of the stuffing. The green beans were crunchy and fresh. The mashed potato had too much butter and milk. The desserts were good. A little too over priced for a preset dinner for what it tasted.
Our Thanksgiving lunch was fantastic . The menu was well thought out and the food ,presentation and the service was superb.
I highly recommend this restaurant .
Wonderful food and excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Stopped in for a light lunch. Olive and Hay was perfect!
The food was amazing the staff was friendly and it was our honeymoon so they treated us to dessert!
Food and service is beyond excellent!
Buffet was good and food was fresh
Olive and hay never disappoints ,
Excellent food and service !
We were visiting on a 2 week Napa/San Francisco Trip and had a couple we met at a tasting recommend Olive & Hay.
We really enjoyed the restaurant for dinner. The Meatball Appetizers were delicious, Halibut was wonderful as well as the Dessert Doughnuts which were great to share.
I would dine here if I lived in the Valley, and definitely recommend it to visitors vacationing in Napa as well.
Excellent and very attentive service from Jenna. Food was very good. Good sized portions and a good selection cooked to our expectations including crispy bacon.
Ok in a pinch. Ate there twice. The veal was way overcooked, meatballs were just ok. The salad was limp. Next time we just tried a pizza and the crust was soggy.
Came here for breakfast on a rainy Monday morning. Staff, service, food was excellent. would highly recommend. Even the coffee beverages (ie caramel latte) was superb!
Pizza was terrible in my opinion. I'd never come back. Salad was tiny for $18??! What a giant rip off. Awful service.
My friends and I were really excited to dine here. We had our reservation at 1 p.m, with a 15 minute grace period, and arrived at 1:03pm. While we were waiting, 2 additional groups arrived, but there wasn’t a host at the front, nor a sign instructing us. We waited… and waited… and waited. Soon enough it was 1:12 and yet still no one had come to the front, although we poked our heads in the hallway and a few servers made eye contact.
One of the individuals from the other group became extremely impatient and walked into the dining area, and came back shortly saying “We have to sit ourselves”. We followed her, and arrived to the main area, where we noticed it was buffet style. We were a reservation for 3 but the only tables available were larger tables. We stood at the front of the room clueless as to what we should do, when a server came up to us and asked us if we needed help. When we told her we had a reservation, she HUFFED and walked off without saying a word! (This was red flag #1). Then she came back 2 minutes later and started getting a table ready for us, while she told us that she was going to get the manager to speak with us. We sat down, upset, annoyed, and starving at this point. The manager then came over and told us that the kitchen was closed and they could only offer us 3 à la carte items. I asked her why we needed a reservation, if we were not going to have anyone greet us at the front, or a sign telling us to sit ourself. Her response, “Well there is a sign…” I can ASSURE you that it wasn’t, and if so, it was not visible to myself and the other 7 guests.
Due to the lack of communication, poor hospitality, with a side of attitude, we decided to go elsewhere.
Sunday brunch was lovely but nothing too special as we had the buffet. The food, however, is very well worth the price. They had a lovely ambiance and service was wonderful. Would love to go back and try their dinner menu which looks delish.
This may be the best restaurant in Napa. The food and service is over the top.
You have to eat here several times to sample all that Chef Jose has to offer. I cannot recommend Olive & Hay higher.
SIMPLY THE BEST!
So delicious! Very accommodating and friendly staff. Excellent quality food. The rigatoni was outstanding!
Great food. The service was outstanding! Put it all together and it was AMAZING experience.
I visited for a Sunday brunch. The property and restaurant was well appointed. The food was beautifully presented. But the lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious! I highly recommend Olive and Hay for a nice brunch with friends.
Good food , good service and we will go back again !
Food was way to expensive compared to how good it was. Pizza salad for 2 with 2 glasses of pretty good wine. Over 80bucks.
Our server was excellent as was the bread with whipped olive oil. However, the veal and the linguine di mare was unfortunately nothing special as neither had any real flavor. It was very disappointing, especially for the price.
Great food, friendly atmosphere
We were told the patio was closed, but they let us eat outside anyway to accommodate us. The service was very professional. The staff is well trained.
The food was fresh & delicious!
We had a great time!! Service was fast and excellent!
The food was delicious!
We booked a brunch with outdoor seating for a special occasion. We called to make sure we could sit outside. When we arrived we were told that they were not opening the outside area even though it was a beautiful day in the mid 70’s. They then told us their expresso machine was broken and there was no coffee except drip. The staff were frazzled and grumpy and the food was good but not outstanding. A very disappointing experience. We won’t be back
The house made tagliatelle with vegetables was excellent!
We had fun, friendly and helpful staff and good food. Really enjoyed the fun.
Wonderful brunch and service on outside patio
We were on our honeymoon!
Amazing!! Our wine steward was off the charts with his courtesy and attention to detail. Our server Pia was of the highest class!! Amazing food and experience!!
A great place to have a meal with friends or colleagues. Nice but casual atmosphere, great food and reasonable prices.
food was plain and too expensive
servce was poor, they lead us to an indoors table even though we asked for outdoors, and there were outdoors tables available. only after insisting with the host we got our outdoors table
they brought the food, but forgot cutlery. i had to ask twice
