   Excellent service from our waiter. We were seated next to a table with very noisy patrons so we asked to be seated. We noticed there were several tables available. The hostess said there were no tables and she refused to reseat us. We made the best of our situation, but feel that she Could have provided better service.  I would probably not visit this restaurant again.

   My friend and I got the linguine and the Buccatini. Both dishes were absolute perfection. The accompanying Pinot Gratio was delicious and paired perfectly with the meal. In addition, the staff was attentive, friendly, and — when they heard it was my partner’s birthday — they gave us a card signed by the entire staff, and an a custom dessert. Reasonable prices for such a fine dining experience.

   Our waiter Carlos made our bd celebration divine! He was knowledgeable and skilled and went out of his way to make my sister’s birthday the best. He is a master waiter and the food, wine and cocktails were worth coming back for! The best.

   We made a 12:30PM reservation for my birthday. We arrived on time however, front desk ask us that it will 15 mins because the kitchen was behind. No biggie. We arrived to our table and we meet our wonderful waitress Cady. She was kind, warm, and greeted us with a smile. We ordered a bottle of reisling and some starters. Our waitress comes back and let’s us know that they are out of pasta dishes for the afternoon. I got really sad and disappointed because we made these reservations weeks before and we really come here for their pasta dishes. We decided since there was not many other choices in their menu to just go to another restaurant nearby. The only dishes that they had leftover for us to try are their turkey sandwiches and chicken fried steak. Honestly, If I wanted to have that I would’ve gone to a diner. We ate our starters, had some gelato, and went on our way. I was really impressed of our waitress going an extra mile to speak with their manager and comp our wine for us. I was really happy to pay for it but I think the whole check should’ve been covered. We came from San Francisco, the gas alone to come there was the check. Honestly, the place needs to be better managed with how much food to prep. If you know your having reservations coming at 12:30 at least have enough food to serve your customers. Running a restaurant is hard I get it. However, I really really looked forward to having a nice meal with my family on my birthday. Next time maybe plan on calling the restaurant if they still have pastas being served before coming?

   The food was excellent, but there were issues: 1) Hard to find! The address by Google maps had us parking in a complex of 3 hotels, a spa, and multiple restaurants. We walked around and through hotels searching for the restaurant for 15 minutes. Recommended: drive around the complex until you see the signs at the entrance; do not rely on GPS and the restaurant address on the website. 2) Although we received multiple emails telling us we only had a 15 min grace period and needed to be on time for our reservations, Olive and Hay seated us 15 min late. 3) There was an apparent miscommunication problem between the front of the house and the back of the house; our waitress clearly understood us, but the food (bacon vs sausage, how we wanted our eggs cooked) was not what was served. Even after our meal, when we asked for boxes, it was clear we were not understood except by our waitress, who apparently was also not understood by her assisting colleagues. 4) The background noise level is high in the restaurant environment, which makes folks at adjoining tables become louder and louder to converse. If you have “speech in noise” problems, this is not a good restaurant for you. The food was excellent, but it was definitely a mixed experience.

   Our server Yumi made our dinner complete! Food was good but not exceptional. With a server like Yumi everything was a great!

   We had a great dinner here! The buratta caprese salad was amazing and my husband really enjoyed the lamb raghu! The italian donuts were also a hit! Carlos was our server and he was fantastic, he described all the dishes perfectly and really made us feel welcome on our first night in Napa!

    Great staff! Visited several times during our 2 week visit in Napa. Pasta dishes are exceptional!
