Olive & Citrus
Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food.
We had a lovely outdoors brunch. The offerings for brunch provided something beyond the usual, which made our Sunday very satisfying. Prices are not for the faint-hearted, but for a special occasion the meal choices and preparation are well worth it.
Great food, server was very friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating was covered and warm.
Service, when we got any, was cold. Seems like the menu hasn’t been updated since 2000 - not sure if they realize there’s a culinary renaissance occurring right now in the restaurant world, and lots of other restaurants (even other local restaurants) are pulling off far more tasty, and inspiring dishes for half the cost. Ambiance was fine, but the food and service needs to catch up with the times before we’d go back.
Outstanding food and service
I had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Service and food was delicious. However, it seems fairly overpriced for the area, especially since everything is a la carte. I did not mind since it was a special occasion and we also got complimentary champagne. It is something to keep in mind though if you intend to just casually dine out.
The food was excellent but came out very slow. The waiter was definitely not on the ball as would order a drink and it wouldn’t come until I reminded the waiter that I didn’t get my drink. That happened three times. The host that seated us was great.
You would think with the prices that the quantity on your plate would be much more.
I am a frequent patron of Olive & Citrus. I have been there 4 times in the last 3 weeks alone. Last night everything was great until the end of the evening. We passed on dessert, but opted for after dinner drinks instead. When we told this to our server, Tyler, he said we couldn’t do that as they had already given our table away. What?!?! We are still sitting at the table, hadn’t even paid yet. Again, what?!? We paid and left.
That was an epic fail to an otherwise great dinner. Unfortunately, I will rethink my choice of establishments next time. Businesses are struggling during COVID-19 right now. I’m sure I can find another restaurant that would be grateful to have my $200+ per visit business.
This was our fourth visit to Olive and Citrus, and as usual we enjoyed our dinner. We had the olives and foccacia for appetizers--excellent--and the entree was salmon with green beans. We both loved the salmon, but we also found the green beans a little more than al dente, a little bitter and fairly stringy, a sharp contrast to their buttery deliciousness the last time we visited. I liked the cabernet sauvignon I had with dinner, but it was not spectacular. only fairly good. Given the prices they charge for everything, it seems to me like they should do a little better. Everyone has an off night, but I hope that this slight dip in quality is not indicative of things to come. The ambiance of the covered and protected porch is just fine, and the waiters are polite and eager to serve. Also, our dessert, the lemon cheesecake, was beyond delicious, more of what we have come to expect there. I would still recommend Olive and Citrus as a very good restaurant, and I hope that management will take our honest feedback seriously and understand that we still consider it one of our "go to" places for a fine night out in Redlands.
Absolutely loved our meal! Such good food. A little pricey but so worth it. Service was great. Cocktails (Lavendar Collins) was AMAZING! Sat outside so the noise of cars passing was moderate. Definitely will go back. Great for date night!
Our experience at Olive & Citrus was absolutely divine. Our waiter, Tyler, was knowledgeable of the evening's menu as well as what dishes were supporting the seasonal harvest. The ambiance was completely romantic with the professionalism from the hostess, to the bar personnel and the waiters on the deck. The food exceeded our expectations as far as taste and presentation. We definitely will visit again!
It was good
We have been to Olive and Citrus a number of times and have always had a very positive experience. It is our favorite place to eat in Redlands. The building has been exquisitely restored and redone, and is filled with atmosphere, as is the outside seating during COVID. They are observing all of the protocols - masking and wide spacing between tables - which makes us feel confident that we will have a safe dining experience. The food is always superb, and the drinks are divine. We recommend it highly. Daniel, Redlands.
amazing food, great service, and beautiful ambiance especially outdoors at night.
Great experience and atmosphere
Environment felt safe and Covid/social distancing compliant. Drinks were exceptional, they make the best Sazerac I’ve ever tasted. Lamb chops were delicate and delicious, jumbo shrimp were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The patio is obviously not as beautiful as the interior of the building but was peaceful and comfortable. Wait staff are polite and knowledgeable.
Olive and Citrus is a wonderful informal dining experience. The cuisine is best described as Mediterranean-influenced rather than strictly so; their steaks are American-style in all of the best ways, and the menu includes a mixture of foods, though their rosemary focaccia bread, olives, jamon slices, and beet fatoush salad are all to die for, and if you want a nice non-alcoholic treat, don't miss the homemade ginger beer. Their prices are a bit high for the portion size, etc. but they do deliver a pleasant ambiance and an excellent meal. I would definitely recommend Olive and Citrus to anyone for a once-per-month visit, more often if one is fairly wealthy.
They struggled this time. Service was a bit slow and they seemed a little frazzled. We had hoped for more than a brunch menu at 12:30. The bacon is no longer the thick bacon they used to have. The wagyu breakfast burger was okay. The meat didn’t really have much flavor and the bun was a bit crispy outside. The homemade ketchup is good and added flavor. The potatoes were good, as usual
Olive and Citrus is a local favorite. Delicious food with perfect portions. Wonderful flavors and a great selection of wine and cocktails. The staff are friendly and attentive.
Staff overworked because they didn’t seem to have enough staff.
Good food. 😀
The chef-prepared food was delicious. The problem was the overpriced dessert--it was presented on the menu as "gelato". Unfortunately, it isn't house made, is not at all like any gelato I've had before (not in a good way) and the jar still had the price sticker on it; they charged more than double what they paid for it. I've had their house-made desserts before and they are wonderful! They need to either make their own gelato or change to a better brand.
The food was good but it did take a while to get our drinks and new silverware. Lovely location.
We ate here for the fourth time since it opened, and it seems like the menu gets more limited each time. The food is maybe above average, but the selection is disappointing and the prices are overvalued.
The hamburger was excellent.Everything on the menu is great!! You can't go wrong!
Have been twice in the last couple of months. Food is ok, service is painfully slow.
Went for Husbands Birthday, we have been here many times before but this time it was lacking in food quality, service was mediocre server didn’t know name of their house cab. It was uneventful.
Highly recommend it!
The quality of the food is impecable and the service was great.
everything was beyond my expectations.
Rewcommend it to anyone looking for quality food
Was a little disappointed, didn’t do anything special for our special occasion. We ordered the biggest steak, it wasn’t that big, but cooked really well but definitely not enough for 2 to 3 people as described. Definitely overpriced. Beautiful atmosphere, and the drinks were very good. Would definitely recommend more for drinks and appetizers rather than a dinner
The experience was great. We did appreciate that. However, when you're going to advertise a dish that has some spice or heat to it, then make it believeable. Don't just write it in the menu and then deliver a dish with no spice or heat to it.
Other than that, the waiygu steak was on point and I do greatly appreciate the delivery of the food. Staff was nice and helpful in every way they could be.
We waited a long time to be served water and then a longer time for drinks. The patio dining is lovely the food was good and we enjoyed our time after out initial long wait.
This was such a treat to be able to return to Olive & Citrus. Tyler, our server, was so welcoming and attentive. His great personality and willingness to please was very much appreciated. As for the food ... oh, how we have missed this restaurant and the excellent quality and attention to detail in the preparation of the food. Everything was so very fresh and tasty. I don't want to forget to compliment the bartender who provided us with two samples of wines since they did not have the one I ordered. That also was very much appreciated. All in all, we had a great experience and will be returning very soon. They show appreciation for our business, and we want to express our appreciation for their superior quality and and kindness!
We had a table of three and there was a large party of 15 or so nearby which increased the noise, but it wasn’t too bad and in these times there’s nothing they can do. The service and food was great. The staff offered to relocate us but it wasn’t necessary. Food was well prepared and presented and in spite of the large party backing up the kitchen a bit the staff kept working hard to get our food to us as fast as possible. Will be going back for sure.
Lovely as always
Food menu changes daily so just be careful that OpenTable updates it. I didn't realize and came in expecting to order something different and was bummed when I realized OT had an older menu posted. Otherwise, service was good and food tasted so good, as always.
Spontaneous decision to eat out and picked O & C because we could sit down and enjoy a great meal.
Excellent food, ambiance, and service!
The food was excellent. I have been here several times and I've never been disappointed. The services was also top notch, we felt very welcomed and attended to. We were there on Sunday for lunch and they only sever brunch on Sunday's. I did not see that advertised anywhere. That being said, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Phenomenal! This is the second time we have been here for our Anniversary and O&C does not disappoint! Everything we eat here is always amazing!
The hangar steak and squash blossoms were delicious. Great dining experience.
