Olive & Basil
Great waitress but the food was decent but not fabulous. Good location but needed to be cleaned.
Dinner w adult kids…excellent service, delicious food.
Guac tastes canned but ceviche was good! Burgers good too!
Food was incredibly disappointing and VERY expensive. My husband’s lamb roast was flavorless, seemed unsalted. My daughter’s shrimp pasta was odd and not at all as described in menu. Taste wasn’t great, I could easily have made better. My surf & turf kabobs were ok but the shrimp was overcooked and they served the basmati rice dry. When I asked for melted butter, they said they didn’t have any, really? Waste of time and money. Clearly lacks a real head chef.
Beautiful setting and good service, but the food lacked significantly. Overpriced for what was received. No flavor I’m the kabobs, tacos were drowned in creamy sauce with little meat. Hummus was good.
Delicious food! Great service! We came with our friends who had two young babies and they were very accommodating. Beautiful views of the ocean too. Highly recommend.
Great place to dine our server was very friendly and attentive, the quality of the food was very good and perfect portion size. Beautiful views of the park and ocean.
Very bad experience!
I am so sad to have this kind of bad experience with our local restaurants. I took a family from out of town thinking it would be a lovely evening and ended it up a disaster. We waited 1 hour for a simple guacamole to start and when our food arrived after the hour it was impossible to eat. Salads were drowned in dressing and very unappealing presentation. I tried to complain to the waitress and manager but ignoring our table was the response. Very disappointing!!
La Jolla is a jewel to have restaurants with this poor quality.
Can’t recommend it at all
The menu had incorrect information on it, and the food was greasy and not very flavorful. We never got the water we requested and had to wait a long time for the other drinks we requested. It's difficult to find parking nearby.
Great food! Great views! Great service! Great value!
Great views. Great food. Great service. Margaritas a bit weak.
Such great food and nice people!
Great hostess and sever. Went for seafood but not much to chose from. Shrimp appetizer was great. Olive and Basil pasta with shrimp was bad. Shrimp over cooked and very oily. Oh no bread! They are more Greek Mediterranean! My suggestion, don’t go!
The servers were super friendly, but I think the food/drinks were lacking.
The service was good and the patio had a nice view. The food was not work the price.
I made this reservation for my husband to celebrate Father's Day with him and our toddler. The host was very accommodating, with outstanding service. Not to mention, the food was delicious and the vibe was amazing. Thank you so much!
Waitress had an attitude . Too bad. Food was just okay. Shrimp pasta was poor.
Food was good staff was friendly and pleasant
Salmon was amazing. Also the ahi tuna salad.
Great Value! Had a outstanding time with friends. Food was good and service was great. Would definitely visit again.
The food was amazing with a nice view of the ocean. The staff was friendly and courtesy. You have to try the Limoncello cake for desert.
Tracy was extremely accommodating and such an awesome server, one of the best I've encountered, hands down. I love how she even made banter with my parents. We enjoyed a wonderful family dinner on the patio, and couldn't have had a better time that evening. Thank you, Tracy!
The food is great. Was disappointed that there wasn't really a view. Hard to tell from images posted. Parking is always difficult in this area
ALL Was GREAT!!!! Host amazing very professional 100% worth to go!
Service was good. Food is very poor, especially for downtown La Jolla. I was elated to find a last minute reservation on a Saturday night for us, but I understand now why they had so availability.
Perhaps this is a better place for brunch because of the view?
The food was bland and lacked flavor. I want sure if this was a Mexican restaurant or a Mediterranean restaurant. The service and the view were good, though.
We loved our server!!! Made our night
This was a very low key but nice restaurant. Great food and views!
Host was not polite or welcoming. Took too long to get water. No one told us the menu is online & we needed to scan a code to access, but we figured it out. Kids meals were much too large & double the price of most kids meals for simple pasta. Kids got wrong sauce on pasta. Chicken that was supposed to be added to pasta was just a side order of kebab. It was very strong flavor & did not go with the pasta dish. Food took almost an hour.
The view was just beautiful but the big surprise was how great the food was! We had Gyro plates, hummus, greek salad, lamb shank and all of it was truly delicious. We are a foodie family and everyone raved about it. Great surprise. The service was very good only wish they had a full bar with real alcohol not the rice kind but they do have lots of beer and wine! Would highly recommend it!
Brutal, understaffed, not the waiters fault, he had too many tables for one person to wait on, fill water, and bus the tables. Wish the food looked like some of the pictures, but rather it was under par as well.
Just extremely over priced for what could’ve been purchased at a mall food court restaurant with a similar theme.
Place wasn’t bad. Food was decent, a cool place to have a drink on the balcony.
We had a great experience. Server was super friendly. My only recommendation is to reduce the volume of the music. It is fine for the night scene, but was way too loud for breakfast.
I made reservations here for 8pm on Valentine’s Day with my wife. We got there on time, got seated, and nobody came by our table for an hour. It was 9pm and we still hadn’t even gotten any water. We finally got the attention of a waiter at 9:10 and told him the situation, and he simply shrugged his shoulders and said “sorry.” When we said we were just going to leave, he didn’t even bat an eye or care to really apologize or fix the situation. What a horrible experience.
The wine glasses were dirty, the service was very poor. The food was pretty good. The service staff didn’t seem to care very much.
In town visiting for work travel and wanted to try somewhere different. This place left much to be desired.
This restaurant is more like a Greek diner that has a nice location. The furnishings are diner. The menus were tired. We were wanting a festive place with a view and it was literally empty on a Tuesday eve that was a perfect sunset.
We left and didn’t eat there. Maybe on a busy night or perhaps an informal lunch, we will come back.
The servers and hostess were kind and didn’t give us any neg vibes when we left.
Love the view from the patio of the ocean and the menu is amazing
Lovely wait staff. Our hostess, Artemisia, was friendly and conscientious to our needs. Our waiter, Vinny, was personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Both made the experience quite pleasant.
The food was also awesome. Tasty dishes. Appropriate portions. Nice flavor profiles. Also, the variety of offerings should please a variety of dietary needs.
I would definitely recommend.
