Olea Newport Beach
OLEA, named for a genus of trees that flourish in warm and tropical regions and scheduled to open by year’s end, will be a European twist on the Napa/Sonoma-inspired cuisine and spirits at Vine, the restaurant Bendel assumed ownership of four years ago.
Butter leaf salad, wagu burger and home made fries....DELICIOUS! Wonderful cocktails and wine made the dinner with my daughter perfect!
Wonderfully walkable neighborhood restruant.
Restaurant is beautiful and has gorgeous decorations. The food was amazing. The Assistant General Manager Stephanie was extremely nice and very professional and friendly.
Had another fabulous meal at Olea. Sat at the bar this time and had wonderful service from both bartenders who also made us killer drinks. Great place.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday. Great selection of delicious food, friendly service. It is on our favorites list.
Start to finish ...amazing!
Local neighborhood restaurant. Food is generally good however the special baseball cut swordfish was raw in the middle. We didn’t send it back we ate the edges that were cooked.
Beautiful ambiance and delicious seasonal foods. We had the squash agnolotti and filet. Both amazing! My favorite is the fried crab on top of the filet. My favorite drink is the Rich Girl. I like to refer to it as a vodka snow cone.
Cocktails are creative and delicious. Entree selections have something for all palates. The wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and fun! Highlights: Corn chowder, roasted Brussel sprouts with pork belly, fried green tomatoes with Burrata. Fresh, fresh seafood. Still thinking about the delicious swordfish entree. The only negative was a couscous side dish that was pasty and not especially flavorful. When we said we didn’t care for it, we were immediately given a side of delicious soft polenta. That’s how you do it! This is a must try restaurant.
We tried this restaurant for the first time on a Sunday evening, meeting friends there. We sat outside since it was a nice evening and there were many TV's on inside. There were only two tables seated outside but we had trouble with service. We thought it was odd that were never offered dessert and had to ask for our waitress and the check. My husband complained afterward that his swordfish was very fishy. He probably should have ordered something else. Our friend ordered the chicken and shared a taste with us. In total, we ordered 2 appetizers, 5 dinners, and a couple rounds of drinks. It all fell a bit flat for our group.
Excellent food, good service. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing food, great ambiance. Loved it!
I invited a friend for dinner at Olea to taste Monday night special of "lobster schnitzel" to find out after the server took the order that the dish was discontinued without explanation. The server, a lovely girl apologized for the change stating that she also misses the dish.
My wife and I are frequent customers of Olea, one of the better restaurants in Orange County, I was disappointed that a special dish I truly enjoyed is no longer available, very much in pace with OC tradition of scaling down foods and service once a restaurant is successful.
Was Our first experience! We loved it!!!
Food was amazing and everyone was so welcoming, we even got a free appetizer!!!
We can't wait to go back..
First time to Olea... it will not be our last!
From the fried green tomato appetizer to the bone-in ribeye, everything was fantastic!
Olea is one of our favorite restaurants. The food and service have always been great and the portion sizes are large as well. They also serve vegetables with the entrees where in other restaurants you pay extra. We are usually too full to have any dessert here and we usually bring our own wine. We try to dine here early as the noise can be quite energetic later in the evening.
Love the food, ambient and services! Definately my favourite OC restaurant.
ALWAYS AMAZING food and service. Love coming here!
Loved the food... duck legs and chicken fried lobster, real winners!!!
Brian our waiter was amazing, food was spectacular, and a perfect evening celebrating our wedding anniversary
When this place first opened, the food was good. However, the last 2 times I have gone, I was very disappointed. They took the stroganoff off the menu (which was the best thing on the menu). The cheese plate was bad...tapenade had no flavor and neither did the cheeses. All bland. I won’t be back.
Overpriced for the overall experience. Somewhat clueless staff made for a forgettable dining experience. Will definitely not come back
On a very busy Saturday night and a 20 minute wait past our reservation... Everything was amazing! The hosts were great, they kept us informed, were apologetic and provided a beverage for our wait. Our server was on the spot, friendly and accommodating. The food was the best! Cold, fresh oysters. Our entree's were hot out of the oven. The Double R Ribeye cooked as ordered, very flavorful with a terrific reduction poured across. The smoked blue cheese potatoes alone were enough to come back for! Not a big fan of vegetables, but they were just crunchy and tasted great dabbed in the reduction sauce. It was our first time there and we'll definitely be back!!!
We had a great dinner with our 85 year old Dad and family. Crusts was an awesome server to our group. The food was amazing. From steaks to vegetarian meals, absolutely perfect. Dessert was amazing Creme brûlée to Ice cream apple oatmeal crunchy dessert. Perfection. Grandpa felt very special. Love Olea! We ate on the patio, it was a beautiful night. Thank you!
We were greeted warmly and promptly. Our server came right over to take our drink orders and water came right away. Our server was very knowledgeable and when I told her I was GF and DF she told me the dishes that could be made for me! Our dinners were delicious and the service continued to be outstanding the whole night. Will go back again!
We have been to Olea several times and are never disappointed by our choices. We had the most amazing dinner last Saturday night and all 4 of us dining enjoyed our entrees ..... from the Chilean Sea Bass, to the Ribeye and Filet, all were cooked perfectly and accompanied with a delicious medley of vegetables. We always order the dark chocolate chunk cookies for dessert - they are AMAZING! The service was wonderful with multiple servers and staff checking in on us throughout the meal.
Great food, great server. Randy was great ! Party of seven well taken care of.
We had a great server, Brian! Food was excellent but it was too noisey!
Great dinner. Food was fantastic. Loved the environment. Price was very good for the quality of food.
One of the best restaurants in our area. Great food, service and value. Its a treat to eat at Olea’s.
Great local find. Attentive, friendly staff. Great food and drinks. fun atmosphere. Guaranteed to run into a friend or two!
Best food and service! Christa took care of us without hovering. She was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The Manager Kevin kept checking in to ensure everything was good. Love this place and will be going back as soon as possible!
I love this restaurant! I've been here several times and it never disappoints!!!! Best meat and cheese board anywhere!!
Food was very good, service was excellent but the venue is very very loud.
Server was nice and attentive, good ambiance and great food!
Love the food and atmosphere, bartenders are always so nice !
Without a doubt, one of the most amazing restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. From the moment we walked in the service rocked!! The place is happening with a mixed crowd. We started with the amazing monthly crafted cocktail and a welcome appetizer. Then ordered the trout appetizer...yummy!! Proportions are large, deliciously a mix of flavors and I promise you you’ll eat every bit!! Chow!!
It was absolutely PERFECT!!!
The food was as memorably delicious as ever and positively cravable.
Everyone there including the General Manger greeted us with a sincere sense of hospitality...they made us feel welcomed...and like VIPs.
Service was awesome, food was high quality, ambiance is great but very loud restaurant!
Good drinks. Good food. Good service. Recommend.
Excellent menu and food is very good. We had a party of 7 and were seated in a semi private space near the rear of the restaurant. Nice but looked straight into the kitchen. There is a large curtain separating the area from the entrance to the kitchen but staff kept opening the curtain. As soon as one person closed it, another opened it and left it open. It was very annoying and distracting. It seems like an easy fix to tell everyone on staff that the curtain is to remained closed. My only complaint. Otherwise really like this restaurant.
