Olea Newport Beach
OLEA, named for a genus of trees that flourish in warm and tropical regions and scheduled to open by year’s end, will be a European twist on the Napa/Sonoma-inspired cuisine and spirits at Vine, the restaurant Bendel assumed ownership of four years ago.
Starter dishes seem to be their go to. Great selection of starter/shareable dishes. Larger quantity then most places, but also very tasty. The main entrees were disappointing. Ribeye looked great, but had way too much fat and the taste was just so-so. Same with the short ribs. Looked great, but lacked any flavor other then the sauce. Service was excellent though. Nice team approach
Super interesting flavor combos and variety on the menu. Delicious food and great service!
The service, food and drinks were outstanding, I can’t wait to come back
My HOME AWAY FROM HOME for every reason you go out on a Saturday night for❣️‼️ PRIMO spot, staff, food, cocktails and ambiance 💗
Fantastic food and service. Atmosphere is casual and staff is very friendly and attentive.
Great vibe in this place. We sat at the bar and had a great experience. We will definitely refer our friend's and we will be going back as well. The duck wings were out of this world.
This was our first visit to Olea and went on a double date. We started with Blue Crab Baked Oysters which were AMAZING! As a main meal, the guys ordered Rib Eye and the girls ordered Mediterranean Sea Bass and Halibut. All the dishes were prepared really well and very generous portions. The Rib Eye was delicious. For dessert, we had the Fruit Cobbler with Oatmeal Crumble and the Chocolate Chunk & Cookies, they were both Delicious! We had great service throughout and the ambiance was really nice for a date night.
The food is fantastic and the servers are all extraordinary. I had the Alaskan halibut which was outstanding. Their wine list is incredible and Kevin, the manager is very knowledgeable about wine as is the owner. A very fun place.
This place is amazing every time. Farm fresh food The best craft cocktails from incredible mixologist
A wonderful evening!
Celebrating my husbands 70th birthday with family, we chose to seat on the patio.
Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was outstanding great presentation and very generous size portions .
We were not rushed it was relaxing and our waitress Diana was perfect.
Can't wait to return !
Thanks to the staff and chef .
Loved it but so noisy that couldn’t hear the waiter or have good conversation.
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with Friendly Smiles. We were a bit activated because we had to drive in traffic for about two hours and I had to keep pushing my reservation. But they held it with no problems and they satisfy immediately and took care of us the entire time. The food was spectacular. The reason I even showed up was because someone showed me a picture of this amazing and I was like I need that. I can't say enough nice things about this place
As usual, a wonderful dining experience. Great food (we had the mushroom salad, salmon and smoked trout cakes. Creative drinks. Above all, the service is extraordinary.
The table was perfect and our waiter, Brian, is fantastic! He has knowledge of all dishes and an engaging personality? The food never fails to amaze my taste buds and I love the presentation!
Love it there! It's our go-to place in the neighborhood!
Olea is a neighborhood gem! If you are going there for the first time, make a reservation for a Monday thru Thursday evening and request patio / outside seating. (they have outdoor heaters).
You will love this restaurant, their food, and the ambiance.
Always great food and service. Fish cakes were amazing , loved the Smokey flavor!
Always a great place for a special dinner.
Great food, excellent service we will be back. Looking forward to dining on the patio as well.
Olea is always a wonderful experience, even when the entire block is blacked out! The electricity went out right before we ordered. Every business in the area was with out electricity.
The server, manager and even the owners came over to let us know the situation and what we could order due to no electricity. The ambiance of candles was wonderful. No one seemed to leave we all just enjoyed drinks and ordered salads. Which were excellent.
You really know it’s a stellar place when things go wrong and they do everything right. Funny thing is the electricity went back on as we left. 😂
We will be back soon. As Olea is our place to go for great service, excellent food and a wonderful evening no matter what. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Staff was attentive. Food was very good! I look forward to returning.
Great environment, fantastic food and tremendous service.
We took my family Out to Olea for my dad’s 80th birthday. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious and the portions generous. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Our water glasses were never empty. We were seated on the patio but the heat lamps were strong enough that no was chilly.
My son’s birthday
Incredible atmosphere and food. We’ve dined at ironwood (sister restaurant) several times and decided to give Olea a try since we were in Newport...we weren’t disappointed! Everything we tried was outstanding!! Can’t go wrong with the ribeye, the halibut was cold to perfection and the jidori schnitzel was incredible...oh, and for our appetizer we got the oysters, better than any oysters Rockefeller we’ve ever had
We love these guys!!
Inga is a fantastic bartender.
Great Energy. Trout cakes fantastic.
I recommend trying to sit in the main dining area. We sat in the back and it was a completely different atmosphere. It was a little less noisy but the overall acoustics were pretty bad. Food and service were good.
I have been to Olea many times and the food is usually really good. I was a bit disappointed with the lamb Bolognese; the noodles were overcooked and the so much sauce. We ended up sitting at the bar and the bartenders are always attentive and nice. Will defiinitely be back; their burgers are great as well as their rib eye. If you have a sweet tooth the cookie sandwich is a must try (enough for 3).
My Vibe and Tribe. Fabulous food great staff wonderful owners great clientele-can’t improve on perfection
We had been wanting to try this restaurant since we had review such positive reviews about it in the Orange County Register. It was excellent. Our server Christy was so friendly and welcoming. The salad was easily big enough to share. The salmon was quite good poached. The 2 best items of the night were the squash pasta and the fruit cobbler dessert. The restaurant has a great vibe and the bar area was very lively.
Excellent experience. Food was inventive and unique and beautifully plated and very generous portions. Definitely a foodie destination. Had only appetizers this time but will try the main dishes on our next visit.
This place is one of our favs. Great food, great service.
Paul, Brian and Jasmine, what a wonderful experience each and everytime.
Tonight was our delayed Valentine's celebration and you guys made it even more special!!
This is why i recommend you to all of my clients!!
Love this restaurant, food is outstanding so is the service
Really loved the place. Staff are pros. Food was excellent and not just a repeat of some other place
Food was great with quite a selection and the service made the whole dining experience amazing, ask for Brians section!
We had a great time on date night. Cocktails, small plates, and entrees. Good all around. Definitely worth another visit. Patio was quiet, Main dining room was a bit noisy. Service was great too.
We were seated outside on a cold rainy night. The are was heated and enclosed but still cold air blowing in. Servers were very kind, and appetizers were delicious steak was over cooked and just not that good. Drinks were tasty. Overall an okay experience. If I were to reckoned or go back, I would just get drinks and appetizers. Maybe try the sea bass. Both the Ribeye and the Filet were underwhelming for the price. I’ve made better steak on the grill at home. Too bad because I wanted it to be good so we have a local place for good dinner.
Not a fan of the schnitzel - dry and taste weird. Sea bass was just ok. The lobster bisque and burrata salad were the only food I enjoyed.
