Let me just say that free deserts don’t make up for an awful dining experience from start to finish. They need to realize that free desert doesn’t make up for an awful dining experience. You go out to have a good time with friends and family. Once it’s spoiled, 5 miniature cannolis, 3 chocolate chip cookies and 2 orders of chocolate mouse doesn’t give you back a night. They ruined 3 birthdays in one dinner.

Good food and nice looking restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was painfully slow. Not the server’s fault-they were clearly understaffed. Could be a good addition to Manalapan if they are staffed properly!

Loved this place! Beautiful decor, lots of TV’s, and a large bar area. My drink was delish. I think it was called Yes, Ladies. Crispy shrimp appetizer was our favorite. Also enjoyed the pretzel app. All meals were great and our server was the sweetest! We’ll be back!

Although the food is pricey at OST, it is delicious. My party had ahi tuna, crab cakes, lobster roll and clams on the half-shell and we all enjoyed our meals. The French Onion Soup was very tasty as well. We were there on a Saturday night and it was very noisy, so expect that because this restaurant is very popular. Reservations are a must. Our only bad experience was waiting for our entrees for too long a time, which the GM appropriately rectified. If you are a local, don’t expect the NEW Olde Silver Tavern to be anything like the OLD Olde Silver Tavern. This is not a popcorn-on-the-floor venue anymore. It is an upscale gastropub like you might find in Red Bank or Princeton. From that perspective, Manalapan has a winner. Just be prepared to pay for it.

The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is new and has a very modern feel. I had a reservation for 4:15 and was seated immediately. The seating arrangement in the dining room was comfortable and the lighting was perfect. The waiter wasn’t the best though. We did not receive water as the other tables had. The waiter took my kids drink order and mine, and walked away as my wife attempted to order hers. He returned with the kids drinks, then took my wife’s order. My drink arrived next, a smoked old fashioned, the presentation was astounding and it was delicious. When my wife’s glass of wine arrived we ordered appetizers. We ordered hot wings, the bacon slab, and onion rings. The presentation, again, exceeded expectations. At this point, I asked the bus boy if we would be able to get water. As the waiter came over to take our entree order, the bus boy delivered the pitcher of water. My wife and I ordered burgers, my oldest daughter ordered the prime rib, my son a sausage bar pie, and my youngest a bowl of penne with butter and Parmesan cheese. The food was incredible. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. At the end of our endeavor, was the part that was most concerning. The bill came, and advertised all over the restaurants menu and website, if you pay cash, you receive a 3.99% discount. I paid all in cash and did not receive the discount. I also tipped separately in cash. I did not bring it up to management at the time because I had a reservation across town at Anne Ellen’s Christmas Village and I was cutting it close on time. So moral of my review, the restaurant itself and the food are 5 stars in my opinion, the server that I had, 1.5 stars. It is a new restaurant, so I will give them another shot for sure, and just hope I get a different member of the waitstaff.

Been here 4 times in the past 3 weeks and eat time is better than the last. Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere every time. Great for a date night, dinner with young kids, or for a place to watch a game. Easily my favorite place in Manalapan.

Food is great and although service is a little slow, you have to keep in mind it’s a new restaurant and they will get their ducks in a row. The ambience is great and it’s a really nice local establishment. Everyone should try it and give it a shot. Let others decide for them.

Went on a Monday and the food was very salty for most of the dishes. Back in the day, Olde Silver Tavern was known for their ribs so I tried them. Unfortunately they were the worst ribs I ever had at a restaurant. Next time, maybe drinks and an appetizer versus dinner.

We had a reservation and we were seated right away. About 10 mins in someone brought is water. We waited over 20 mins for someone to take a drink order and tables that were seated after us had their orders taken first. When we said we had been waiting for over 20 minutes all we heard was ‘i know’! No apology no offer of a free drink or anything and no manager came over to even explain the situation. We almost walked out and if football and tvs were not on we would have. Not sure if we will go back as the customer service just is not there.

With a half fully dining room I don't understand how servers can just disappear to the point that you have to ask a buss person to find the server. And, how does a restaurant run out of half and half?.....if your supplier can't provide it, a common sense manager would have gone to the supermarket to get some. Food was good, service was bad

I am not one to write bad reviews but I am making an acception here because I don’t want other unsuspecting diners to go through what we did. Unfriendly staff was out first observation. Hostess staff and waiter were pretty gruff. One of our diners main course arrived before the appetizer. The portion size was very stingy and not enough. Food was below par. One of our diners had a barely cooked burger which had to be sent back to recook. Ceasar salad dressing was so extremely salty, I couldn’t even eat it. Prices of the food are out of line. The pretzel was $18. Steak added to my salad was $16 additional for a small piece of steak. $28 for the small Caesar with a few pieces of steak. I’m not sure if they even serve dessert in this place. The waiter brought the check without even asking if we wanted dessert, which we would have gotten. We were all still hungry. I wouldn’t recommend Old Silver Tavern and don’t intend to ever eat there again. Pleas don’t waste your time or money.

Wish you were on Trip Advisor because then you could see that I hardly ever give someone 1 star. We waited years for this to reopen. Decor is beautiful and that's the best I can say about this place. Why would you even use the old name? There is nothing, and I mean nothing that pays homage to the old location. One menu item? Popcorn? The menu & prices are obviously trying to compete in the higher end market - like a Butcher Block or Jasper Stone. You are not competing in this market, the food is all sub-par. Presentation & Taste. My chicken cutlet had bones in it. We saw various owners/managers walking around and were shocked with a new restaurant to not be asked how everything was. Server seemed bored and unhappy to be there. We will not return. So sad!

Nothing reminiscent of the 'old' Olde Silver Tavern. Just a new restaurant with an old name. The food was great. Burgers, pizza, and ribs were all very good. Dinner menu choices are mostly lunch items (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, apps) and the portions are small. The old OST was famous for its pizza. Here, the pizza was an afterthought on the back of the menu. We came in on Saturday night with a party of 5 and it was LOUD! There were several mistakes in our order because our server didn't hear us right. I ordered the half rack of Sweet Chili Ribs ($20) but it's only 4 ribs, mine was really only 3 1/2. A half rack is supposed to be 6-8. My dinner is more like an appetizer. I also ordered a loaded baked potato ($9!) that wasn't completely cooked through and dry. Burgers came out perfectly cooked and bar pie was good too. No issues with the taste of the food. House wine was good but pricey @ $14 and only a little wine in a big glass. Definitely weren't pouring a standard glass. Lastly, the bill notes "A 3.99% discount is automatically applied when your selected payment method is cash." BUT the cash adjustment amount is ADDED to the subtotal and is INCLUDED in the overall TOTAL. So, if you do pay cash (like we did) we were told by the server to SUBTRACT the adjustment from the total. That's sneaky and deceiving. How many people do not notice that or read the statement and think the discount was applied and then pay cash for the credit card total? Bad business. Just because I have a food allergy I should note, it's not so gluten-friendly. There are only a few items, if that, (outside of seafood) that a GF person can eat. I'd go back here for lunch or to the bar for a game or to meet friends because it's got a large bar with many TVs and the bar area is roomy, but I don't think I'd have dinner here again.

This Tavern has been rebuilt and recently re-opened. The bar area looks fabulous! Our server was courteous, attentive & professional. However, the food was disappointing! You expect taverns (i.e. sports bars) to have better than average burgers. They were okay at best.

We arrived at 7:00, was sat promptly, served drinks and appetizers, and ordered our meal. While it started off strong, our food never came. We were sitting down for about an hour and a half, and once we brought it up to the management, there was no apology, no explanation, no offer of compensation. We walked out after complaining, as there was no resolution. Management did not seem to care that we had been kept waiting or left.

For the most part the food was very good. The sides for the pork chop were skimpy and could have offered choice of sides sour kraut should not be a side for $30+ entree. Had a bacon appetizer it was tasty but only 1 slice and presentation could have been much better was just placed on a rectangle plate. Lighting in the dining room could have been more subdued for dinner hours the lighting looked much better even with the tvs on. No presence of a manager was observed for a newly open business they should be walking thru chatting and getting feedback from guests. Glad to see it’s finally open and no doubt is an asset to the area. Server could have had more enthusiasm and menu knowledge. Bus staff very attentive. 7 out of 10. Will most certainly return and will try the bar area seating. Welcome back OST!

After reading all the positive reviews we decided to give this restaurant a shot. WOW…Major disappointment all around. Server not able to take a meal order properly . 1) Appetizer oyster platter delivered with main course. 2) Appetizer wings and calamari neither had any taste wings were dry and calamari were bathing in grease and marinara had absolutely no taste. 3) Main course: Prime rib was over cooked when asked for rare cut, side mushrooms dry, cold and over cooked…to make matter worse the steak knife served with the prime rib literally split from the handle…WOW! Asked waiter for horseradish…we were told twice that the chef had none in the kitchen, yet horseradish was served with oysters….??? 4) Main Course: pepperoni pizza…asked to have onions added on pizza was told that the chef was unable to tweak it. This pizza came out COLD and TASTELESS! We repeatedly asked to speak to a floor manager but nobody came to the table BUT when came time to pay our bill we happened to speak to someone walking by who identified herself as one of the managers. We expressed our disappointment she took our bill but when it was returned to the table nothing had been altered… You would think that we were a difficult table…two tables next to ours happen to have also over cooked steak and espresso coffee delivered when they had asked for cappuccino… You can try to say that these are issues when you are having a soft opening, I have been in the food industry for over thirty years…what we experienced this evening was all around UNACCEPTABLE and management should have been at the table trying to soften/diffuse the situation.

My family and I went there for a Sunday dinner. The service was outstanding. Jodi was our waitress. She was great. Drinks are amazing. Food was delicious. Desserts for yummy. Definitely a must go.

I loved the warm and cozy ambiance. The appetizers were all delicious from the fried calamari to the shrimps. The ravioli with mushrooms , one of my favorite. We all loved the main course from the halibut to the shrimps with scallops. The service was friendly and the food was well timed. Definitely will come back.

Top notch all the way!! From the service, food and decor. My family and I had a wonderful experience the food was amazing and it wasn’t the same old boring menu. The pizza with peach and hot honey was to die as well as the salmon with sweet potato and white asparagus! Definitely worth a try!!!!
