Olde New York
If you are into large portion sizes, this is the place. A vast menu.
Yet another fantastic meal!
My family goes to ONY about once a month. We all love it.
Very accommodating to our movie group.
The food is great
Service is excellent
We look forward to our next visit
Our family always goes to ONY when I come up to visit. We love it.
Long wait for the food which then arrived Luke warm. Good menu selection. Salads were very good but special of the day was nothing special. Reservation was honored in a game weekend which was a real plus.
Great for larger gatherings and dinner groups. I'd go back again for sure.
Food was pretty good. Pricing was fairly typical / average. Daily specials apparently only apply to the bar area. Oktoberfest dinner special was priced a little high for what was received. They also hit you for extra condiments (ranch) which I find to be tacky. Overall, it is a decent place.
This was our second time visiting before the PSU game and we were happy to find out that they were celebrating Oktoberfest. The Bavarian Gulash was outstanding. And the beer selection is always good. Our server was better this time than our last visit. I would recommend this place to others.
Food was too greasy
Great option not far from PSU. Fine bar food.
We really enjoyed the German entrees and the server tho new was delightful! Fun place!
This was our 3rd visit over the past month. It is one of the most consistent places we have eaten at in State College. The burgers and sandwiches are good at a fair price.
Old New York is go to favorite, especially on busy weekends. If I plan ahead, I can always schedule a reservation even for a large party. The restaurant offers a variety of foods ~ delicious appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. The German specialty foods are wonderful! Our experience has always included a friendly server and prompt food prep. Overall, an excellent dinner out!
Our family goes to Olde NY about once a month because of their great selection and style of foods. It is also very reasonably priced. Never had a bad meal there.
Goulash is the bomb 💣😍
Stopped by on our way out town for the first time. We had a nice meal, good gluten free choices, waitress was pleasant and attentive. Had wings to begin - turned out to be a great choice! Not breaded, yet gf, crispy and yummy! The onion soup is delicious, as were the salads we had. Definitely will go back next time we are in town!
First time here and it won’t be our last. One of us had the “ build your own sandwich,” another had the bratwurst entree, and I had the Reuben. All of the food was very good.
We have consistent great meals coupled with super service. One comment was our table had beer/liquor selection but had to asked for wine selection. No big deal but routinely all are included in one menu
Old New York has good food in a pleasant atmosphere and while it does a steady business, it's often a great place to eat on busy weekends (football, Arts Festival, graduation). I've never had to wait in line for a table.
Very much enjoyed our experience and plan on returning soon
This is one of my husband’s favorite restaurants. And since it was father’s day.... we go there often.
We enjoyed our dinner at Olde New York. Not much ambience, just a big bar. Menu had something for everyone. My husband really liked the Jaegerschnitzel and I liked the greek salad with chicken.
Even on the busy Mothers day we visited it was quite enjoyable. Service was impeccable and food was delightful.
We eat here about once per year, and are pleased with the consistently good food, large portions, and reasonable prices. During this visit, our waitress was especially attentive and our dinners were ready in about 10 minutes, despite the large crowd. Only downside is the noise, making it difficult at times for conversation. The open ceiling and floor plan, and tile floors, discourage an intimate atmosphere. Otherwise, one of the best restaurants in Centre Co.
Good food--Lots of good choices---good service---very noisy place-- highly recommend
My 83 year old mother and I go out every weekend. It’s hard to find waiters who have patience waiting until my mother decides what she wants and how she wants it. Olde New York got us in on time which is wonderful with an older parent and our waiter was awesome. We left a large tip and will go back again!
Very happy with the entire experience! Delicious food and great service. NCAA basketball tournament and NCAA wrestling championship on big screen TVS.
The food was excellent! The prices were reasonable, the wings had an amazing flavor!
Very busy atmosphere with a lot of noise. Food quality was good and on point for their genre. Server was young and inexperienced but recognized this and sought assistance. Unfortunately the timing of entrees and appetizers coming out separately needs some work. Food tasted good.
The drinks and food were of good quality, and the service was prompt and courteous. It was fairly busy on a Friday night, and so was a bit noisy.
Always great food and service. As a native New Yorker, I love the ambiance. Excellent service from the moment you walk in the door. This place has been a family favorite for years.
My wife, two teenage daughters, my 20 year old nephew, and I went to Olde New York for dinner this past Saturday night. Olde New York offers traditional Italian and German meals, as well as other traditional "pub fare." The prices were in the $$$-$$$$ range, and the food quality/taste was average to above average. Portion sizes were definitely above average though; we all took food with us. The draught selection was modest, but the bottled beer selection was ample; prices were about average. We had reservations, arrived 5 minutes early, and were promptly seated. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would equate the atmosphere somewhere between sports bar and family restaurant. Overall, I would recommend Olde New York.
The food was decent. My husband had Chicken Parmesan, I had the Strip Steak with Bleu Cheese and Brandy. My husband did like his. The chicken is fried. My steak was really fatty. Worst part was it's super noisy. Not what we were expecting. I would not go back.
Server was not attentive and almost rude, but the food was excellent.
Love this place. Brother from Nebraska visiting and requested dinner here. Food always delicious, staff always courteous.
The chicken salad with artichoke hearts and black olives was missing both the olives and the artichoke hearts!! My mom was very disappointed, although said the chicken was delicious.
Everything was great. However sometimes it takes a while to get a drink.
Very enjoyable - sat at a six top table that worked great for conversation, food was delicious, service was great and fireplace created a nice atmosphere.
We went on NYE and was hoping to really enjoy ourselves. There was one waitress doing about half of the restaurant and she was either overwhelmed or new. She was very nice and sweet but not very informative or didn’t know much. Our apps came out cold and about 2 minutes before our meal did. The food was just OK, nothing to rave about but edible...for as beautiful a place as this is/could be, it was a real disappointment.
