This quaint location has tremendous charm and warmth. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. We laughed and talked to several of them as it was the start of the dinner service. We decided to try the Sunday Supper Special which was phenomenal! From the piping hot yeast rolls to the fork tender roasted chicken. My friend kept raving over the garlic mashed potatoes. Dessert is always a highlight and the Bananas Foster didn’t disappoint. Prior to arriving I shared that the greens and fried chicken would be my go to meal. But I am so glad that I gave the Sunday Supper a chance. We will be back.
The meal, wine and service were all outstanding. The local art on the walls added nice ambience.
The building could use a little TLC (a spring closer on the front door and a coat of paint in the bathrooms for example).
I love this restaurant, everytime I come it is lively because so many people know how good it is and the food is always excellent. The service was also outstanding, I will be back
Always a sure bet to please. My favorite restaurant in the area for business meeting, lunch or dinner. Fried chicken and crab cakes were excellent. Personal attention but not overkill.
Anniversary dinner. Delicious crab cakes. Shrimp and grits was so rich with a small spicy kick. Bacon Brownie for dessert. Oh yes!!!
I had not been to this restaurant for almost a year. There was a great difference in the quality of the food, service, prices and overall experience. I was very disappointed overall. Could be a great spot in the Vinings. Management and staff need to change.
Food continues to be perfect. Best French toast in Atlanta.
Chris is one of the best servers in the business, hands down.
Excellent outing with delicious food, attentive and friendly service, and a good value. Brunch Food arrived hot and tasty. Eager to return for dinner cuisine.
The food was great. The service was a little on the slow side but it was easy to catch the eye of a Server whenever we needed something and then our wants/needs were quickly taken care of. Since we were enjoying a leisurely dinner with friends it was great.
Definitely a neighborhood gem. Great southern food. There was a little miss on one of the appetizers ordered, but they were quick to try to offer to make it right and then comped an extra dessert for us. A great experience and we will be back!
Wonderful evening, great food and excellent service.
We hadn't gone to this restaurant in 35 years but were in the area so stopped by. We had a great dinner with wonderful service.
Cozy atmosphere, good food and great service. My wife and I enjoyed the blackened redfish and swordfish entrees.
We were there for Easter dinner to enjoy the buffet. Everything was wonderful, however was a little disappointed by the time of our reservation, food was running out and they were not making more. For the price, would expect to have everything listed on the menu available during the reservation times offered. That is good planning. Otherwise, it was a great experience and our server was fantastic.
Great food, and wait staff was professional and friendly. I will be back for sure!
The Vinings Inn is unique and definitely worth a visit. Food is excellent, atmosphere very special and the attic bar quite a nice way to begin or end your dinner.
Experienced their famous Easter buffet - overall a very good meal. We were seated fairly quickly given the large crowd - had a great table near the buffet. Nice ambiance and noise level was low enough to have a conversation. Fried chicken was a bit too greasy (and that’s my only reason for the 4 stars), but that may have been due to the quick turn time time due to constant replenishment. Their shrimp & grits was truly outstanding and I’d return just for that. The appetizer table featured pimento cheese dip, spinach artichoke dip, prosciutto and shrimp - all of which were delicious - and you could have made your meal of just that table. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!
We went to the Old Vinings Inn for Easter Brunch. It was my second time here and my husband's first. The restaurant lived up to my hype -- we loved it. Great food, fantastic drinks, great service. Definitely one of our favorites now!
Easter brunch was OUTSTANDING!
The food is, at best, mediocre. Crab cake is all filler. Creamed grits blander than library paste. Slapdash service.
The food was really good. I don't eat greens but I was not able to stop eating these. The chicken was really tasty and the service was great.
Great food and service. My first visit but definently not my last.
First time to Old Vinings Inn, we came for brunch. This restaurant has character and the staff was very friendly. Melanie was our server and she was fantastic, attentive, friendly. Food was excellent, we started with bread basket followed by eggs Benedict . We will definitely be back for lunch/dinner when we are in the area again.
Came with no expectations, however left with a full stomach and very pleased. Southern cuisine menu with new twists. Will definitely come back.
On my arrival I did not feel very welcomed by the male host of the evening. He was not very inviting and led us to a table away from the other guests that was a table by an entrance into the main area. We were placed where the wait staff had to pass us each time they came into the main room and pass through to the outside eating patio area. The entire time, we felt as if we were placed away from the main area of the restaurant. The food was filling and tasty.
Despite all of that he wait staff was very pleasant to us.
Too bad because I would have loved to go back the next time I am in Atlanta, but I paid too much for dinner to feel excluded.
Great meal and awesome music made for a wonderful evening!
We had a wonderful meal at OVI. It had been some time since we had been and we loved it. The atmosphere is lovely, the food was delicious, and the service was warm, friendly, and excellent. The short ribs were excellent and matched well with creamy mashed potatoes and root vegetables. The fish was excellent. The deserts were outstanding....brownie with bacon was not to be missed and the key lime pie was delicious. We dined at a high end restaurant a few weeks ago and had their short ribs....and while they were wonderful I felt the OVI short rib was even better. I highly recommend this little gem.
I took my wife theee for our wedding anniversary. It was wonderful.
This was my first time dining at the Vikings Inn. I was impressed with everything . Food, service, quick and efficient, great food and atmosphere were pleasant. Very cozy.Live music upstairs. I will definitely come back. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
Great food. Bartender made the night special. Thanks Rick!!
Fried green tomatoes- amazing. Short ribs, amazing. Chocolate + bacon + vanilla ice cream dessert was incredible. Our server made the experience a memorable one. We’ll be back for sure!!
Everything about our evening at Old Vinings Inn was exceptional. It is a beautiful old house with great ambiance...the service and food was wonderful. The upstairs bar was a fun start and end to the evening.
We went as a Valentine's date. We were seated in what appeared to be the outside deck. There was vinyl panels hanging down to shield you from the weather. Made for horrible viewing. Next reservation I will request not to sit there unless it's in the Spring or Fall. I had the blackened redfish and my wife had the salmon. Both meals were good not great. Since it is a small menu, my wife struggled for something to suit her taste. Our waiter was nice a little over talkative and hard to understand as he talked so fast and had a Wisconsin accent. Talkative is fine, but when you can't understand him you don't want to keep saying.... huh?. Other staff was very friendly as well. We would go back again.
As always we left full and happy. I cannot think of our waiters name (maybe Steve or John) and his teammate Julie our waitress are always a delight to have looking after us while dinning at old vinnings inn. They don't get any better than those 2! Very professional but at the same time really caring and very personable. It is always a treat when we get seated and find out they will be taking care of us. We have never had anything to eat there that wasn't outstanding! So if you get a chance to eat at old vinnings inn "I say run don't walk"! Enjoy. Mother/daughter known there as Night owls
The Vinings Inn has gotten a little rundown looking and the service, while friendly, was not very professional.
We had a good time coming back to Old Vinings Inn after an extended absence. We were reminded of the good food and relaxing ambiance of the restaurant. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Typically we come there on holidays and special occasions but would consider on "normal" days as well.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day at Old Vinings Inn, and we had a lovely and romantic experience. Our table was set beautifully, we could hear the strains of live jazz coming from upstairs, our wine was superb, the food was delicious, our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous, and everything about our evening was perfect. We will definitely be back!
Great evening in this historic venue!
I was very surprised with Linen a Candles on the table, the waiters were dressed in jeans and flannel shirts. That seemed to be worn, takes away the ambience of dining!
Was a special occasion, which I told several people. Dessert came and was just put on the table with no candle or greeting.
Worst place ever. Manager was rude!!!
Food was worst ever all burnt.
