In the quaint & historic town of Vinings, Old Vinings Inn is steeped in fond memories and heritage. Our house has served many functions in its past - a post office, a general store, a filling station - and for the last 25 years we welcome you into our home celebrating life& milestones or just simply an elegant, gracious, and tasteful Southern dining experience!

We serve classic Southern fare like our famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Shrimp & Grits plus amazing modern Southern cuisine prepared with locally sourced ingredients by our Executive Chef. Visit our Attic Bar for live music Thursday through Saturday nights!

    LIVE ENTERTAINMENT IN THE ATTIC BAR - please see schedule on live music page of website for performances! The Attic Bar features unique live entertainment featuring local music, comedy shows, and more! The bar opens at 5 pm Wednesday-Saturday and our full dinner menu is available there during those hours. Seating is limited, so reservations are suggested and walk-ins are accommodated when available. Tickets are $5 per person and a credit card is required to reserve them. Credit cards are charged for reservations post event or upon cancellation the day of the event (walk-ins are charged upon admission based on availability).

    I had made a reservation here a month or so in advance for a special occasion. The menu seemed good and we hadn't dined here previously, though it has been open for quite a long time, apparently. If you approach it from I-285, note that you need to drive past the restaurant to access their parking lot. My nav app routed me to a side street before the restaurant, but there was no parking there or any way to access the restaurant. We were seated promptly despite being early. For a Saturday evening, they didn't seem very busy. There was one other couple at a table near us. They finished while we were eating and another couple arrived at that point. There may have been a couple of other parties who showed up while we were there. Maybe it gets busier later. We finished before 7 p.m. When I made the reservation, there was a question about whether this was some sort of special occasion. I had answered it. I didn't expect freebies based on that, but if the restaurant asks, it seems like it should have some relevance. Some places write a small acknowledgement on the dessert plate if you order one, for example. If it doesn't matter, don't bother to ask. They had a limited wine selection by the glass, but did offer half bottles at reasonable prices. However, the menu wasn't up to date on what was available. The only other issue was with food allergies. Apparently everything that is fried is done so in the same oil. Hence if you are allergic to something and it is fried for preparation, you can't be allergic to anything else which they fry. Not a deal breaker, but most places don't have this as a restriction. I appreciated them acknowledging it up front, though, as opposed to finding out later. Aside from the above, the meal went well. We enjoyed the salad we got, and the entrees were well-prepared. My steak was quite good, though a 6-oz was the only size option there. We also got a chocolate brownie dessert, which we enjoyed very much.

    So this is an absolutely beautiful place however, I think the brunch was OK. What was especially upsetting is they overcharged for different items on the menu. They shouldn’t overcharge you should be able to choose three options and that’s that. It definitely was not worth almost $300 for three people.
