Shrimp & Grits
Andouille, "holy trinity," blackened shrimp butter, soft poached egg*
I really enjoyed my meal. The inn was located in a beautiful reclusive space. I would come again definitely
the service and food was wonderful. Great Father's Day gift for my husband.
Food was very good and ambiance was nice. I tried the crab cake egg benedict and babe got the country fried chicken. Surprise him brought him here for Fathers Day and we both was impressed.
From the moment we stepped in the door we were greeted with friendliness and helpfulness. The food was superb!
Friends gathered for my birthday- the food and service were great ! Parking can be challenging.
Took my dad to Old Vinings for a pre-Father’s day brunch and the entire experience was wonderful! Our server took great care of us and the food was yummy!
Beautiful house and setting with great food and service!
It was our first time and we won't be back. I understand it being an "old inn" type of ambience, but it needs some major work. It's not clean, very "dingy" looking, no music on in the background so it was super quiet. The food overall was good, but definitely not great. We were told they were out of several items and it was only 7:15pm on a Friday night. Not a good way to start your evening. It was nearly empty and I can see why. We also had a mediocre server who was nice, but very slow, only had 2 tables but forgot to bring us something we asked for, then brought us the wrong side with our entree. Pre-bussing a table is very important and we had dirty dishes on our table for a very long time. Everything we ordered we could've made better at home (my husband is a chef) and bought at Publix. The beet salad had way too many flavors on it that didn't go well together at all. We were ready to pay our bill and get out of there.
Service and food was excellent. Great selection and pricing on half bottle wines.
Great food & cocktails...wonderful service! Definitely recommend!
Food/Service was exceptional. Ate outside and enjoyed it immensely
Our server was great. Room was not noisy but we could have a private conversation without whispering. Ambiance is great. Trip to the bathroom was strange but authentic to the history and location. Cute place
Good restaurant good food. Enjoyed ourselves.
I love this place, it’s such a gem! The food is great, it has a charming atmosphere, and the staff is always very attentive.
An old house converted to a restaurant. Nice concept but hard for wait staff to keep tabs on tables so many rooms to watch. Was a confusion at the start as to who should have been waiting on us but Mgr fixed it immediately and comp an appetizer. Not really necessary but very much appreciated. Parking is a pain but that’s just the nature of the area. Over all glad we went would definitely go back again.
It is a lovely setting for a date night. It isn’t huge on the inside so not a lot of noise and activity to disrupt conversation. The food was pretty good. My husband (and I) were very impressed with their meatloaf, which was delightfully modern and tasty. The grits were too salty in my S&G (and I’m a salt addict) but I ate up the shrimp We enjoyed our charcuterie. It was a really nice evening. It looked like the outside porch seating was really nice so we’ll try that next time.
Staff was friendly and curtious. Food was very good. Little noisy for a small place.
Brunch was lovely on the porch. Our omelets were light and fluffy. The beet salad was perfection and the chocolate torte was so creamy and delicious!!
I have been coming to Old Vinings Inn since I was a young man and it never disappoints! The food and service seem to continuously improve. Great job!
We’ve been coming here for about 25 years and have always loved it. Tonight we were treating our granddaughter and her boyfriend to dinner and couldn’t have been more disappointed. The food was second rate at best and some of it looked and tasted like it was from last week! I know Covid has taken a toll on the restaurant business, but, this was not a cheap meal. After bragging so much about how great it was we definitely feel cheated. But, the worst part was that our granddaughter felt sick after the appetizer and couldn’t even eat her meal. 😞
Tip notch food and service. Love the music too!
The food and service keep getting better and better. I
Love the new items!
Loved their outside dining. Food was delicious. The rolls were wonderful. Quaint and simple but very nice. I'd always prefer the outside after having peeked inside.
My boyfriend and I went for Sunday brunch and it took almost 30 min to get our omelettes and his order was completely wrong. We had to wait another 15-20 minutes for his correct omelette to be made. We were a little disappointed.
Sunday Brunch for 2 adults: Shrimp n Grits, Fried Green Tomato appetizer, Heritage Eggs Benadict, and Bloody Marys. Tasty and filling! Parking lot is small. Maybe you can Uber there during busy times. Make reservations for Sunday brunch to get a table.
The food was good, staff was great and the GM came to check on our experience.
Require masks for show, hostess is not in the correct profession. Food was good although no wine by the glass which is odd.
Food was just ok. They served ketchup with crabcakes. Server was either very inexperienced or indifferent. Service was slow. We have had crabcakes at Houston’s, Paces & Vine, C&S, and Canoe, and these crabcakes are definitely at the bottom of the list, yet the same price as the other places or more expensive. No sales of wine by the glass was annoying. I wanted red, my wife wanted white, yet only half bottles were available. And no menus ? Yet the internet didn’t work very well, so only one of our phones was able to connect to their online menu. Very frustrating. We have been eating here for 15-20’years, but probably won’t be back. It is much worse than it was just six months ago
Good food, nice atmosphere, servers with good personalities.
Excellent customer service and the best shrimp and grits!
This was my 2nd time here for brunch. Our server was not overly friendly. Even with masks on you could sense no smile. I ordered the blue plate 1 meat with 2 sides. The menu states you can choose your meat and sides from the list. She told me that with meatloaf it came with green beans and mashed potatoes, or I could change them for an up charge of $2 per side. I didn’t remember the menu (online) stating that, but I didn’t want to create a fuss so I just went with the beans and potatoes. Since there is not a paper menu, it is up to the customer to search online and the app could be more user friendly in the mobile device. Nevertheless all of our food was excellent. However I just revisited the menu, and it does state to pick your two sides. I am disappointed in the server and her response to me.
The server I had the first time was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
Excellent food and service!
Was a cute venue for date night. Awesome server and the shrimp and grits, salmon cakes and calamari were amazing. The dill dip for cakes and sauce for calamari were great. Jamaican old fashion is a sweet drink way to go!
I eat there frequently. Food, service, and atmosphere never disappoints.
I’ve been twice since the Pandemic, in April with friends and they enjoyed it. I suggester it to another for brunch and she was very disappointed in parking, out of food (including their special and waited a very long time fir food. I just went back last week with the friends I went with in April and it was very good although they were out of food. If you look at the menu before you go and see something you like, call to check to see if it’s available. Also Old Vinings Inn could change their menu until they figure out better supply and demand issues since the pandemic. Still have to wear a mask, temperature check and have to ask for a menu as they have “e-menus”. All in all good food but be patient and flexible
Hate to leave a good review lest this little secret break out. Very nice selection of food and wines. Great meal. Great service. Great value.
This was my 2nd visit to Old Vinings Inn and it was better than the first. The server was so attentive and well versed about the food.
Great food. Great service. Nice portions and nice setting.
My mom, daughter and I ate on the patio. I schedule reservation for the incorrect number of people, but the Hostess was more than understanding and accommodating, and made sure we still had a table. Dwany was our sever! He had a great knowledge of the menu and was very attentive. Food presentation was great and came out in a timely manner. All the staff that we interacted with were friendly. Will definitely be back.
