Had a reservation for 8 pm. Waited until 830 - no table. So we left. Walked right past the hostess - she looked at us and didn’t say a word. There were a lot of people sitting around waiting. We got there early to have a drink because they have a nice bar, but I was not able to get anyone’s attention. There was service in the outside seating area. So we went there and were served drinks. Why wouldn’t they have brought out a menu and offered to serve us a first course outside? Had they done that we might have waited longer or just eaten outside. Other people were eating out there. I feel like they didn’t know what they were doing.

The food was absolutely amazing! I had eggs, fruit, and grits. My husband had the omelet and grits. We loved it and can’t wait to go back.

I have always wanted to eat at the Old Village Post House. We finally got a chance to go while visiting our son. We went for valentines, but actually went the night before and it was a very pleasurable experience. Would recommend it highly.

Phenomenal quality of food and service. We are repeat customers. The Sunday brunch is amazing, as is the bar and outdoor area. Such great food.

Great food as always. Initial service a little slow but improved throughout dinner. We love coming here and recommend it. Sure beats the parking/hassles of downtown Charleston!

Melanie is a very good server. We were near the bar and it was loud and people kept bumping into the table. Great restaurant just wish we had a different table.

Had a birthday dinner for a friend Friday night and requested a great table. They made a Happy Birthday sign, gave us complimentary champagne and dessert. The service was amazing! Food was to die for. The chopped salad was so good! Grouper was also delicious! Highly recommend!

A very nice evening for our date night outing! Thanks for sharing this special place so we could enjoy a delish meal in a candlelit setting that offers much ambience and low country hospitality and charm. We'll be back for more special occasions in the future. Our waiter provided excellent suggestions.

The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the cream corn had a spice that was overpowering at least for my taste. Overall it was very relaxing and the service was superior.

The food was good. The filet mignon was excellent. The fish was average. Our waitress was excellent. There was a long wait between the appetizer and getting the entrees we ordered. There was not an explanation as to why that happened. The room is somewhat small, so the noise level increased once the tables were filled. Overall, a nice little place with good food. But for the price, we would consider going other places next time.

We visited during Restaurant Week and thought we got quite a deal. There were 4 in our party, we each had the filet, which was done to perfection. The only problem we had was with our server, she talked too much, repeating herself over and over again. She also had a very bad habit of reaching across us, rather than walking around the table to serve or take away. Overall, though, a very enjoyable meal, we were all happy.

I expected great food and maybe because it was restaurant week the food was just average. My butternut squash soup had too much spice in it which overwhelmed the taste. My dinner partner and I got the wrong steaks the green beans were just uncooked. Overall not a great meal for the price

Definitely a wonderful place to dine.

Enticed by So. Car. restaurant week 2018, I drove 125 miles from Aiken, SC to dine at the Old Post Inn in the village of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Well worth the drive! The staff that greeted my husband and me along with our server were very cordial and accommodating. The menu selection and price very appealing. The food served was very tasteful and well portioned. The dining room was small and intimate with occasional soft music playing in the background. We enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning perhaps staying overnight at the associated Inn.

We had a lovely and delicious special birthday dinner here during restaurant week. The butternut squash soup was perfectly seasoned, the salad was a delight to the eye and the palate, and the server brought us complimentary champagne when she found out that we were celebrating a birthday. The swordfish was outstanding, and the beef filet was even better. They each were accompanied by interesting combinations of vegetables. The chocolate lava cake did not have any lava, but it was exquisite! The only thing that would have made it better was if the restaurant wasn't quite so dark. It was kind of funny to see people all over the restaurant reading the menus by their cell phones! It was almost difficult to see our food, too. Overall, it was a fabulous meal and a memorable night out. Highly recommend!

The filet I got melted in your mouth. I was very please with the steak. However, my husband got the swordfish and wasn't as happy as I was. Next time he'll get the steak. I highly recommend to anyone. As a matter of fact, will be making another reservation.

The Village Post House is our GO TO PLACE for great food and thoughtful service and super cozy setting. Getting out of all the craziness in "downtown" this place is accessible and in such a nice friendly atmosphere and great area.

Usually very good. Tonight was off, Steak was past rare, more like medium, pink, no juice. Again, usually perfect! Dessert was dry, chocolate molten cake was disappointing. This was restaurant week menu. Once more, food usually 5 star, maybe it was busy. Of the many times I've been there, this was the first time I was disappointed. Service was excellent. Hate to not give 5 stars but....

2 of our 4 meals were good (not mine). My mussels appetizer was cold in a deep narrow dish with all the sauce at the bottom and no extra plate for the shells. Server did bring me a plate when I asked. When I got to the sauce, it wasn’t that flavorful. I didn’t enjoy this dish. Bread plates on the table but we didn’t get any bread/butter until we asked for it. My grouper entree ($36) was so dry as was the risotto that accompanied it. It also came with 3 shrimp that were good. My bread pudding dessert was good. My husband (the birthday boy) ordered filet mignon and it was good. We won’t be going back.

I have enjoyed the Old Village Post House on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. My husband and I have brought out of town family here. I have enjoyed happy hour with my book club here, celebrated a bridesmaids' luncheon here, attended professional seminars here on two occasions, and had "date night" here from time to time, and all have been lovely experiences. On this particular visit, we enjoyed the restaurant week menu and were very pleased. This restaurant is a true neighborhood gem, a perfect place to experience Mt. Pleasant's Old Village.

unfortunately our first experience here was tainted by giving us literally the worst seat in the restaurant. we were outside a closet/ supply alcove squeezed in the back of back room surrounded by 2 bigger parties making it hard to hear each other.
Our steaks were both delicious though neither of us liked the spices on our potatoes salad was good too. we might try again but maybe for lunch but never if we were seated in the same spot again

Overall good dining experience. The butternut squash soup was excellent. My steak was not quite right. I think when I said medium rare, she only heard medium. I also had to ask for a fork after my main course arrived. Those were the reasons I fève it 4 stars. Dessers were just okay. Love the setting.
