Tacos were good tasting and great value. Kitchen was slow and we got there before the kitchen opened and it took them at least 45 min after opening time to serve our food, including a simple dish of nachos. The appetizer and our main dishes were served at the same time. Nachos & cocktails are marginal. Good beer selection, but trying to get a server to bring something or change a channel took forever. The set up was nice. You could have a group of 8 sit together in a booth with their own flat screen TV. I would go there for a beer and to watch a game, but I would get the TV set and send in an order immediately upon getting your table.
It was terrible, over priced, dirty, check was incorrect...never again
We came in because the website listed a 99 ingredient Bloody Mary bar, yet when we arrived and tried to order them, we were told they no longer carried it. We were also underwhelmed by other items (avocado toast, grilled cheese, mimosas) and two friends ordered the old fashioned and each got something completely different. The women’s bathrooms were a joke (two toilets didn’t work, soap dispenser was laying on the counter, and the paper towel machine didn’t work). I used to love this place. We had an updated party of 12 and everyone felt the quality has gone downhill.
Fun place with nice variety of beers on tap. Some good values on the happy hour food.
They were closed. I got all the way to the restaurant and there was a sign that it wasn’t opening until the next day. Why would it allow me to book a reservation.
The whole reason we went was for the Bloody Mary bar. They decided they didn’t feel like setting it up (on a holiday weekend no less?!) so that was disappointing. Dishes were dirty and food was mediocre- biscuits were over cooked and very hard. Waitress was nice, but overall experience wasn’t good. Wouldn’t return.
Was disappointed that there was no bloody Mary bar (as advertised), also, no potato casserole. Fries with my eggs, no thank you. The employees were friendly.
Unfortunately, our time spent here was not well used. No host was present to greet us as we walked in, and after waiting for 4-5 minutes, I walked over to the bartender to ask if we should just sit ourselves. Shortly after, the manager came over and took us to a table, gave us waters, and stated our server would be over in a moment. Approximately 12 minutes later (3 songs) our server came over to let us know they'll be back "shortly". Upon return (about another 10 minutes) they asked if we would like to order drinks. We informed them we actually had a lot of time to review the menu, and was able to tell them the drinks and food we wanted.
At this point, we were not surprised to learn they did not have the ingredients to make two of their drinks, not serving fish tacos, veggie tacos, Buffalo Chicken Slider or their Cheesesteak. By this point, we all at one another, and agreed it would be best to leave. Our server asked if they should continue to at least order our drinks, and we can pay for those and then go. We must have been in-sync this evening, as we all giggled and said, "really?"
We do not recommend this place unless you like to waste your time on bad server, and reading a menu without of items they don't have.
The food I got was really good and that is the only nice thing I have to say. When we arrived at 7:15 on a Friday night we were told that multiple menu options were not available and it took 45 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. Very disorganized. I would not come back
Met up with family from Wisconsin to celebrate our daughter's birthday! Had a great meal and an awesome visit! Will definitely be back!
Good fried chicken and waffles. Outstanding Bloody Marys. Solid beer and wine lists. Easy to get into for brunch.
Our server, Rachel, was really nice and attentive. The food was amazing and the bloody Mary bar was definitely a hit. We will be back!
I planned a farewell dinner for a friend at Old Town Social. We had 9 people but we were accommodated nicely. The drinks and food were all good. Staff was friendly and was able to split the bill between all nine of us. Loved the vibe of this place. would recommend!
We arrived for a res that took place immediately after a private event. The ambiance was obnoxiously loud, which you'd expect on a Friday only that it never leveled out. That and the shocker of a very limited late night menu after 930pm made it hard to enjoy the meal my friends and I had planned to have. The service was impeccable, I'd just wish that we were warned ahead of time about the limited menu and blaring music.
The waitress was great! We had such a good time. It was the prefect start to a night out.
Great spot to watch the game!!
Great Sunday Brunch spot. Went on new years day for the pajama event. Had a great time and staff was great for being new years day, because I was hungover for sure.
One of my go to places for fireplace drinking and small bites.
We loved it! The setting is wonderful , all fireplace, wood and cozy lights. The food is very good and the service is impeccable.
Bustling bar, good for younger crowd. The food was good, we loved the appetizers. Our waitress was very inattentive and made an overall great place a little bit lacking.
The "Brisket Sandwich" was three burnt and tasteless strips of meat. No sauce. Dry toast. And half a pickle. All disassembled on the plate and I guess I was supposed to put it together? Why the hell would something be labeled a sandwich and then I have to become the sandwich maker? It was EXTREMELY (I can't stress this enough) EXTREMELY overpriced for how low of quality the it was. I will not be returning and will not be recommending it to anybody.
Went to after a comedy show, great energy. A perfect place to grab a drink or dinner.
Food was good and reasonably priced. Very loud bar atmosphere
Great for drinking.
The service, food, drinks, location and price of menu was excellent.
We had a wonderful time at Old Town Social. The staff was great, and even the manager came over to our table and was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed the food, the TVs and the atmosphere in general.
We brought a group of people in for dinner with a reservation for 8 only to find out they did not reserve a table for us. We waited for quite some time and got little help. We had to leave after waiting for 30 minutes. Very disappointing and we most likely will not return.
We enjoyed our ladies night out!
Never got my 100 points which would have given me 5,000 pts. Open Table not good with keeping track of points and redeeming points.
Arrived 15 minutes before our reservation slot - they did not have a table for us. Waited for over an hour, a walk-in party of 3 came in during that time and were seated immediately. Hostess did not seem to care, and at that point we left. Was rather disappointing. Will not be returning.
I've always been a fan of Old Town Social, but I moved from Wrigley to Old Town in September 2015 and have been a frequent visitor at OTS. It's right down the street and I absolutely love the ambiance, quality of the food, and menu options. Patrick is our favorite and he always makes sure we're taken care of! The service is great - this is a great place for a casual brunch, or for a date night :) I also LOVE the fireplace in the winter. I've gone here for NYE a few years ago, casual meals with family & friends, date night, and had my birthday here with friends (in 2013 and 2016 .. just realized that! lol). But if I'm going out - it's quick, convenient, great quality, & I can always count on having fun at OTS. Everyone I've taken here loves it too. Some of my menu favs include the sweet potato fries, veggie burger, kale & pear salad, and the brownie. Easy to say that I'm a big fan :)
Food was delicious but slightly small portions. Great environment although the lighting was a little bit dark. Had to shine our phones for extra light to read the menu. Would definitely go again
The food was excellent and the service was excellent and it was a really cool place
The restaurant was very quiet for a Friday night. The food was okay for the price, we got an appetizer, which was tiny. Seems like it could be a cool place, we may have just hit it on an off night.
arrived early. no problem. seated in a nice quiet room. entertainment in the main room. service was very good. portions were just the right size. only problem was 1 too many wines put on the bill, but was easily fixed.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. One person in our party was not satisfied with what she
ordered. The waitress was very quick to apologize and bring her a menu so that she could choose another entree. She also sent over the owner (I believe) who also was most attentive in rectifying the situation. Not only was the original dish removed from the bill, but they provided an additional discount as well. Their outdoor sidewalk seating area is charming. The restaurant itself, though, tends to be a bit noisy with really blaring music.
Showed up at 9pm for our reservation. About 3 staff members just looked at us as they walked by, while we waited to see the hostess who was talking with her friends at the entrance. Seated and took 20 minutes to get orders in, didn't get our food for an hour. There were about 1/8th of the tables dining. Food was cold, drinks were weak. This is a bar, not a restaurant.
We came here for dinner and drinks before going to a show at Second City. Really enjoyed the pretzel bites, fried pickles (very small portion), mini hot dog appetizer, and tacos! It was very quiet on Saturday night at 6:30.
They marked our reservation cancelled even though we showed up on time and had dinner as planned. That was annoying.
