Old Town Pour House - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
We are always sure to dine at Old Town Pour House - Oak Brook when we are in the area. The food is always great! We enjoy the shrimp tacos and Pour House burger! Delicious! The servers we've had are attentive and will suggest brews for our enjoyment. Our reservations through Open Table are honored. We are seated promptly upon arrival.
We had reservations and were seated right away. It wasn't crowded. The beer menu is huge and there are many other drink choices. Our food was very good. The service was also very good. We had a nice time all around but I would say it's a little expensive for the type of place it is - casual - but it's at Oakbrook Mall so it's expected.
This place was reasonably priced compared to the restaurants adjacent to it. However, the food and service were subpar. It took us a long time to find our waiter after we had finished eating because he was stretched so thin between other tables. The salad I got was swimming in dressing and my friend’s burger was soaked in grease. I would not return.
After having a WONDERFUL lunch with my cousin a few weeks back, I thought this place would be GREAT for a birthday party. Unfortunately....., I was VERY disappointed. After having a glass of a supposed top-notch Cabernet with a twelve dollar price per glass, I pretty much spit it back into the glass. No bouquet but LOTTSA bubbles and a metallic taste. I asked our server (She was FABULOUS!) to take it back. I was ready to try a Malbec but our server advised me that what I saw on the menu were BULK wines. TERRIBLE wines all the way through. Food portions are quite good with excellent appetizers. (Do have their PUTINE or their FLATBREAD!) When having lunch (as I mentioned in the opening statement), their Cabernet was extremely flavorful but was told, the afternoon servings of wine are of a limited quantity basis. Mmmm? Why? I thought GOOD FOOD should be served with GOOD WINE, at least.., thats what I have experienced and thats what I expect. If I wanted a bulk wine at twelve bucks a glass, Muscatel, potatoe chips and a bologna sandwich would have been a perfect combo for the POUR HOUSE. All their brews are GOOD as well as the whiskies, but you would be better off bringing your own select bottle of wine if the management permitted. Management needs to improve their wine list with vigor instead of serving NASTY tasting bathtub vintage. Sorry..., will not be coming back for DINNERS there. Though I might do a lunch in the future. In Vino Veritas!
How did we never hear about this place? It was wonderful, from beginning to end. Jeremy our waiter was knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant's fresh food offerings, excellent ingredients, and its preparation.
Their gluten free menu had a great array of choices.
Looking forward to enjoying the outdoor dining area when the weather warms up.
A group of friends and I got together since we were all in town for the holiday. Upon arrival we were seated since our table was ready. We each selected one of the taco entrees. I selected the shrimp taco entree which was very tasty. It was very delicious and one of the best I have ever tasted. I would recommend this dish to friends and the restaurant as well. Our waiter was friendly and the price was pretty fair.
Service was good. Ordered crab fondue, more like a crab cheese spread-wouldn’t order again. Husband order short rib entree- pretty dry and bland. Over priced mixed drinks. The beer flight was probably the only thing I enjoyed. Most likely will not return again.
I enjoy Old Town. We frequent this restaurant to the tune of three to five visits per year, it’s always consistently good. They didn’t have my Thai wrap tonight, so that’s disappointing, but otherwise a great spot to meet friends.
Excellent food which can be had at many restaurants. What put this over the top was our server. There were nine people in our party and he took everyone of our orders without writing anything down. All of our food came with no mistakes and was delivered to the person that ordered it! Amazing service!
Service was decent, though water and ice tea refills were a little tardy. Some food was good such as wraps and desserts. The appetizers were a little pricey like the short rib casserole and the buffalo chicken dip. A couple of our hamburger buns were very soggy. A lot of the juice saturated the bottom bun like they were sitting a while before being served. The Naperville location appears to do things a little better than this Oak Brook location.
Been to different Old Town locations including this one a few times. Food always has been really good. However this time we sat outside on the patio and the service was awful. It took 15 minutes for someone to even come to our table to ask for water and that was just a sign of things to come. My sample of beer was taken although I was not finished with it and then took forever for the waiter to come back and actually order. The only time we were asked how our food was tasting was within a minute of it being brought to our table by someone else and we didn't even have a chance to eat it to give him an answer (although it was good as it always is). Once we were done eating it took over a half an hour and we had to flag down a bus boy from a different table entirely to even get a box. I wish I could say it was very busy but although it was full it could've been managed much better. Was extremely disappointed with the service and unfortunately ruined the entire experience. Will be taking a break from at least the oak brook location for a while which is a shame since it's so close to where I live.
This was my 4th visit to Old Town Pour House and I have had pleasant experiences here before. However, this time our table in the dining room was surrounded, literally surrounded, by gnats. Our waitress was not good, inattentive, forgot drinks, did not clear plates, seemed to be in a haze. Towards the end of the night there was an overwhelming sewage smell that was pervasive and we were sitting no where near the restrooms. Food was just ok. We won't be back.
