Old School - Toronto
From the moment we arrive my food allergies were address and a printed version put on the table and given to the chef. Our server was very attentive and told me nothing fried based in my allergies. I ordered the mile high blueberry pancakes. Simply amazing as was the Fitch toast. Highly recommend and we will return
Very slow service
Eventhough we had a reservation for 10 am for Sunday brunch and the restaurant wasn't busy at that time, it took about an hour for our order to arrive
The blueberry pancake is to die for though
The service was amazing! Everyone was kind, warm, funny and personable. If only the food was better! We started with the mozzarella sticks, but they were pretty bland: I even added salt and pepper to mine just to get some flavour. 2 of us ordered the chicken and waffles, which we both found a bit flavourless. I added tobasco sauce to the "tobasco honey" (which was neither spicy, nor tasted like honey), which helped, but doesn't compare to fried chicken that's properly seasoned. I don't need spice, but I do need seasoning and flavour. Our friend ordered the steak and she wasn't a fan of it either. The service was so good that I might be willing to give it another try if a friend invited me there, but I probably wouldn't go there again myself. Which is a shame, since all the items on the menu sound perfect.
Everything was excellent!!
Bland, tasteless food. Service was decent. Overpriced for the quality of food you get.
Not a good experience from the moment I stepped in. It smelled really bad like it was dirty. Sat down and had fruit flies flying in my face every few seconds. I could tell I was not going to enjoy the food from how gross the restaurant seemed but my friend made me stay. I ordered chicken and waffles they were ok. I would not come back here until they do a deep clean of the front and back of the restaurant. Smells like they have a lot of open beer bottles just rotting away or something.
Loved the energetic, yet homely and welcoming vibe. The initial patio seat we got had too many wasps flying around. Our waitress happily moved us to an indoor table.
The food was AMAZING!! We shared the blueberry pancake stack and eggs benny. Highly recommend both!!
i wish the pancake that i had was little more warmer other than it was perfect! and there were tons of bees during that time
It was great and nice to celebrate my birthday with family and good food
Great Sunday brunch! The music wasn't working so our server joked that we could sing our order - my husband did, and we shared the amazing Blueberry Hill with sides of sausage and eggs. Friendly and fun service, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food.
We were visiting Toronto for the weekend and went to Old School twice we loved it so much. The food was absolutely amazing, the drinks were great, and the owner was so friendly. Definitely stop here while in Toronto, you won’t be sorry!!
Thanks for the amazing service Jack!
I really enjoyed my meal: kale Caesar, chicken and waffles with an aperol spritz!
Lives up to its Instagram posts!! Will definitely be back 😀
Made reservations for breakfast, great service and food
Service was pretty bad. My friend is gluten/soy free and server was not helpful.
Those blueberry pancakes!! Incredible l, soft delicious and covered in blueberries and bacon!
Great Bennies for Brunch ! Service was a little slow but for Sunday brunch it’s expected i guess
Absolutely love this place. 4th time here. This time we got the mimosa bottle service as well as awesome breakfast-so fun to do with gfs!
Seemed short staffed - 1 waitress, 1 bartender, and kitchen staff. Service wasn't good but I guess they tried considering they were short people - waited 45mins to get the bill after asking multiple times. No one at the front to greet or seat you. Drinks were watered down (sangrias and the pepsi). French fries were great but pulled pork sandwich was soggy and bland. Not a lot of space so a group sat right in front of the performer and made it difficult for staff to get to tables. Staff were nice.
I went for brunch last weekend and did not have the best experience. I went with a group of four, and we made note on the reservation that it was a birthday (which was not mentioned by the waitstaff or anything). When my boyfriend and I arrived to meet our friends they had given us a table that was in the direct sun for the two of us and all of the other tables were under umbrellas. We tried moving the table back but then our friend would be right up against the people behind us. It was direct sun, I burnt my shoulder and almost fainted when I stood up to leave. When I went back in to get some water and sit down I got very rude looks from all of the waitstaff, despite telling a server I was outside and they needed more umbrellas because we were so hot.
Aside from this we ordered two eggs Benny’s my salmon one was not very good. The salmon didn’t taste very fresh. We also ordered the blueberry pancakes without bacon, because two members of our party don’t eat pork. I took a bite and it totally had bacon in it and needed to be sent back. We were all just grateful I took the first bit and not my friends.
All in all this place would have been better if more attention had been paid to the overall customer experience.
Post fitness show meal
I’ve recommended to everyone at work it’s awesome food was great especially the pancakes. My wife love blueberry pancakes and it rocked we will be back with more people this time.
Amazomg brunch spot! The patio was particularly beautiful and intimate, our server was extremely friendly and outgoing, and the food is just amazing 🥰. Would highly recommend the stack of pancakes and sitting at the patio if you want a quieter, outdoor experience
Food was 10/10 just the experience and meal I was after
we waited about an hour and a half for our food. Finally one meal came, then 10 minutes later another meal came, and finally my meal came - which was french toast...so i waited 90 minutes for french toast...which was also soggy and just really unappealing, especially for $17 (so crazy - it's bread dipped in egg for goodness sakes - calm down with your ridiculous prices). If a restaurant has the balls to charge that much for french toast they need to nail it - these guys didn't. The saving grace was our wonderful waitress who without asking comp'd my meal and 50% of the other meals. So I didn't leave feeling disgruntled, which i appreciated, but i won't be going back.
Hi Jordan, Thanks for your feedback about your experience with us. If I was in the same position to have to wait extraordinarily long for a meal out like you did, I would be as disappointed as you. This is unacceptable, and I would like to personally apologize for this. I'd love to connect with you about your lunch, and bring you back for a real Old School dining experience (on us, of course.) If interested, please feel free to DM us on Instagram, attn: Orlando (@oldschoolyyz) Best, Orlando
Old School was delicious and the staff was so friendly and welcoming.
The pancakes did not look like the photos we saw online. They were also a little burnt.
I didn’t like my orders but I think it’s just my personal taste but I enjoyed the space and service. My waiter was kind, maybe if I’d took another meal it would be better. I am definitely go try one more time
The ambiance was great, the music was perfect! The food was delicious and milkshakes were amazing!
The restaurant opened promptly at 9am and the staff was very friendly. The food was beyond delicious and reasonably priced
Server was nice, attentive. However dishes were bland and nobody at our table finished their breakfast. All four had different dishes and were not satisfied. Not worth the $$$$.
Great place for breakfast/brunch. The vibe is casual, perfect for a small group of friends or even young families as the menu does have breakfast favourites for kids of all ages. Our server was lovely and she adapted the our pace - we wanted to take our time, have cocktails before breakfast, chat, etc... She was present at the right times and gave us ample space. The portions are quite big, especially their signature dish; the Blueberry Stacks, which we ordered as a side to share (4pp), as it's a must but too big for most people to polish! The bacon is very tasty, nice and thick. The French Toast are made with very fresh egg bread so they are like fluffy clouds! We'd go back for breakfast/brunch.
It was average e
Service aux petits oignons, brunch remarquable et musique 90's !
Wonderful brunch! Very friendly neighborhood environment and superb selections and meals. Will be back!
Fun menu, delicious food, friendly wait staff. Will be back.
A lot of confusion with guest list and reservations, forgetful staff of things ordered, food not all brought out on time and average tasting food. Disappointed.
Organized a group of 11 for a company holiday party. Loved that I was able to pre-order and they were able to accommodate us. They offered us the back area that we had to ourselves. The staff were great and loved their take on comfort food.
Food and lattes were absolutely delicious!!
Brunch on a weekend can get a bit hectic with lineups and feeling rushed so your table can be turned over. I’ll definitely come back and enjoy the more relaxed lunch on week days!
Great Brunch place!
